The U.A. Sports Festival buzzes with excitement, yet a hidden tension simmers beneath the surface. Ace, ever vigilant, knows that an Imagin lurks somewhere in the stadium, a threat that could unravel the present and future of this world. His instincts scream for action, but he needs a way to get close, to confirm his suspicions without causing a panic.
Suddenly, a familiar figure strides toward him. Yu Takeyama, Mt. Lady, her playful smile radiant, spots Ace in the crowd. "Ace!" she calls out, her voice carrying over the din of the stadium. With a skip in her step, she closes the distance between them, happily grabbing Ace's arm, her touch lingering just a bit longer than necessary.
Ace returns her greeting, but his tone is noticeably more serious. "Yu," he says, his eyes scanning the surroundings, "I need your help."
Yu's expression shifts, her playful demeanor replaced with concern. Sensing the urgency in Ace's voice, she leans closer, her vibrant eyes searching his. "What's wrong, Ace? What is it?"
Ace lowers his voice, ensuring their conversation remains private amidst the bustling crowds. "Momotaros senses an Imagin nearby," he explains, his gaze unwavering. "It's likely somewhere within the school."
Yu's eyebrows furrow in disbelief. "An Imagin? Here? Are you sure, Ace? You know those Taros can be a little… unpredictable."
Ace nods, his expression resolute. "I know, but when it comes to Imagins, Momotaros is always serious. He can sense their presence like no one else. I suspect it may be among the students, but I need to get closer to be sure. I need proof."
Yu chews on her lip, her mind racing. She understands the gravity of the situation. If an Imagin is indeed present at U.A. High, the potential consequences could be catastrophic. But getting close to the students, especially during such a high-security event, is no easy task.
"What do you need me to do?" Yu asks, her voice laced with determination.
Ace looks at Yu, a plan forming in his mind. "I need you to help me get closer to the students," he says, his eyes meeting hers. "I need to investigate further, but I can't do it alone."
A confident grin spreads across Yu's face, her eyes sparkling with determination. She straightens her posture, her resolve unwavering. "Leave it to me, Ace," she says, her voice brimming with confidence. "I know just how to handle this."
With Yu's assistance secured, Ace feels a surge of hope. Her connections and influence within the hero community could prove invaluable in navigating the complexities of U.A. High. Together, they might just be able to uncover the truth before it's too late.
Ace and Yu start walking toward the building where the students are taking a break between events. They make their way through the throngs of people, all buzzing with excitement.
As they approach their destination, a figure blocks their path. A Pro Hero, stationed at the entrance, stands tall and imposing, his gaze scrutinizing everyone who attempts to pass. He recognizes Yu immediately, his eyes widening in surprise.
"Mt. Lady!" he exclaims, a hint of admiration in his voice. "What brings you here?"
Yu flashes a charming smile, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "Just wanted to check on the students," she replies, her voice smooth and alluring. "Make sure they're all doing okay."
The Pro Hero nods, his gaze softening under Yu's spell. But then, his eyes shift to Ace, a flicker of suspicion crossing his face. "And who's this with you?" he asks, his tone hardening.
Ace steps forward, attempting to exude an air of confidence. But the Pro Hero's gaze remains fixed on him, his expression unwavering. Ace's anxiety heightens.
"He's with me," Yu interjects, her hand gently resting on Ace's arm. "He's helping me out today."
The Pro Hero raises an eyebrow, his skepticism evident. "I don't recognize him," he says, his gaze unwavering. "Is he a member of your agency?"
Yu chuckles softly, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "No, silly," she says, her voice laced with playful charm. "He's… a friend."
The Pro Hero's face flushes slightly, his composure faltering under Yu's gaze. He hesitates for a moment, his internal conflict evident. On one hand, he is duty-bound to uphold security protocols. On the other, he is face-to-face with Mt. Lady, one of the most captivating heroes in Japan, and she is practically batting her eyelashes at him.
Yu leans closer, her voice dropping to a seductive whisper. "Come on," she coos, her eyes locking with his. "Surely you can make an exception for me."
The Pro Hero's resolve crumbles. He stammers, his cheeks turning crimson. "Well," he says, his voice barely above a whisper, "I suppose… just this once."
Yu beams, her gratitude radiating outwards. "Thank you," she says, her voice dripping with sincerity. "You're a lifesaver."
With a reluctant nod, the Pro Hero steps aside, granting them access to the restricted area. Yu winks at Ace, her smile triumphant. Ace feels relieved, but knows the hardest part has yet to come.
Ace and Yu step inside the building, ready to investigate and confirm Ace's suspicions about the Imagin's presence among the students.
The air inside the building vibrates with the energy of hundreds of aspiring heroes. The aroma of school lunches mixes with the scent of sweat and adrenaline, a testament to the rigorous competition. Ace and Yu make their way to the cafeteria, a vast hall filled with long tables and chattering students. He spots them almost immediately: Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida, seated together, their faces flushed with excitement. They seem a beacon of optimism.
The presence of Mt. Lady does not go unnoticed. Heads turn, whispers erupt, and within moments, a throng of students surrounds her, their eyes wide with admiration. Hands extend, clutching notebooks and pens, as they clamor for autographs. Voices overlap, vying for her attention.
"Mt. Lady, you were amazing in the last event!"
"Can I get your autograph? You're my biggest inspiration!"
"What's it like being a Pro Hero? Do you have any advice for us?"
Yu, ever gracious, beams at the students, her smile radiating warmth. "Thank you all so much for your support," she says, her voice carrying over the din. "I really appreciate it." She pauses, glancing at the expectant faces before her. "But," she continues, her tone firm yet kind, "I'm actually on the clock right now. I can't stay and chat, but I wish you all the best of luck in the upcoming events."
Ace seizes the opportunity, slipping away from Yu's side unnoticed. Sorry, Yu, he thinks, a pang of guilt tugging at his heart. I need to do this. He scans the cafeteria, his eyes searching for a head of purple, grape-like hair. Mineta, where are you?
As he navigates the crowded hall, a familiar voice cuts through the noise. "Excuse me! You there!"
Ace freezes, his heart sinking. He turns to find Tenya Iida, his expression stern, striding purposefully towards him. "I do not recognize you," Iida says, his voice booming with authority. "Are you a staff member? A student? If not, I must ask you to state your business."
Ace's mind races. Think, Ace, think! He glances back at Yu, still surrounded by her admirers, a wave of silent apology washing over him. He needed to come up with an excuse, and fast.
"Ah, yes," Ace says, forcing a smile. "I'm with Mt. Lady." He gestures towards Yu, hoping Iida will buy his explanation. "I'm helping her out today."
Iida's expression softens slightly, his rigid posture relaxing ever so slightly. "Mt. Lady?" he says, his eyes following Ace's gesture. He nods, seemingly satisfied. "I understand. However," he adds, his tone regaining its firmness, "I must still inquire as to your purpose. It is my duty as class representative to ensure the safety and security of my fellow students."
Ace lets out a breath. "Actually, I was just admiring you all," he says, his eyes scanning the faces of Midoriya, Uraraka, and Iida. "Your performances in the Obstacle Race and Cavalry Battle were truly impressive."
Iida's face flushes with pride, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Thank you," he says, his voice filled with sincerity. "We all strive to do our best, to live up to the standards of U.A. High."
Midoriya and Uraraka nod in agreement, their faces lighting up with smiles. "It was really fun!" Uraraka chirps, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm.
Suddenly, a new voice joins the conversation. "What's all the commotion about?"
Ace turns to see two more students approaching: Yaoyorozu, her expression elegant and curious, and Jiro, her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
"We were just inquiring as to this gentleman's purpose," Iida explains, his tone returning to its formal cadence. "He claims to be with Mt. Lady."
Yaoyorozu's eyes widen in surprise. "Mt. Lady? Here?" She turns to Ace, her expression softening. "Forgive my rudeness," she says, her voice smooth and refined. "I am Momo Yaoyorozu, and this is Kyoka Jiro. What brings you to our humble cafeteria?"
Ace offers a polite bow. "The pleasure is all mine. I'm just a normal person," he explains, trying to downplay his presence. "I work at a small café called Starry, just outside of Musutafu." He pauses, offering a warm smile. "If you ever find yourselves in the neighborhood, please, do come by. The coffee's on me."
The students exchange curious glances, their interest piqued by Ace's genuine demeanor. "Starry?" Uraraka says, tilting her head. "I don't think I've heard of it."
"It's a small place," Ace says, shrugging. "But we pride ourselves on our unique blends and friendly atmosphere."
The dark-haired student with the green curls steps forward, extending a hand. "I'm Izuku Midoriya," he says, a nervous yet sincere smile gracing his face. "Nice to meet you."
The girl with rosy cheeks and a cheerful demeanor follows suit. "I'm Ochaco Uraraka!" she exclaims, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "It's so cool that you work at a cafe!"
Iida adjusts his glasses, striking a formal pose. "I am Tenya Iida," he declares, his voice booming with sincerity. "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Ace turns to Midoriya, a knowing smile gracing his lips. "Actually, Izuku and I have already met, bright and early, at Takoba Beach, wasn't it?"
Midoriya's eyes widen in surprise, his face flushing slightly. "Oh, yes," he stammers, his gaze shifting nervously. "That's right. I didn't realize…"
Ace chuckles softly, reassuring him. "No worries," he says, his tone friendly. "I just wanted to congratulate you on making it into U.A. I know it's been your dream for a long time."
Midoriya's face lights up with pride, his eyes shining with determination. "Thank you," he says, his voice filled with gratitude.
Jiro raises an eyebrow, her gaze scrutinizing Ace. "So," she says, her voice laced with suspicion, "what exactly are you doing here? Just wanted to see the next generation of heroes up close?"
Ace meets her gaze, his expression calm and sincere. "Precisely," he says, his voice unwavering. "I'm fascinated by the dedication and passion of young heroes like yourselves. It's inspiring to witness firsthand."
Suddenly, a roar rips through the cafeteria, shattering the amiable atmosphere. It is a sound filled with fury and frustration, a primal scream that makes the hairs on the back of Ace's neck stand on end.
"Kacchan," Midoriya mutters, his face paling slightly.
"Sounds like Bakugo's having another one of his little outbursts," Jiro quips, her eyes rolling.
"What's going on?" Ace asks, trying to act innocent.
"He's probably still upset about not making it into the top four during the Cavalry Battle," Midoriya explains, his voice filled with sympathy. "He takes losing very, very hard."
Ace nods, feigning understanding. "Speaking of the Cavalry Battle," he says, seizing the opportunity, "I was particularly impressed by Mineta's team. Their performance was… quite unique."
Yaoyorozu nods in agreement. "Indeed," she says, her expression thoughtful. "Mineta's strategic use of his Quirk was quite effective."
"Do you know where I can find him?" Ace asks, his voice casual. "I'd like to congratulate him."
Yaoyorozu points towards a table in the corner of the cafeteria. "He's sitting over there, with Kaminari," she says, her tone helpful.
"Thank you," Ace says, offering a grateful smile. "I appreciate it."
He turns and starts walking towards Mineta's table, his senses on high alert. He can feel the weight of the Taros' anticipation in his mind. It's time to confirm his suspicions. It's time to face the Imagin.
As Ace approaches Mineta, he focuses, trying to ignore the weight of what he must do. Come on, Momotaros. Ryutaros, he thinks. Tell me, is it him? Is it really Mineta?
Inside Ace's mind, Momotaros's gruff voice booms, "Yeah, it's him! I can smell that weird Imagin stench a mile away. It's faint, but it's definitely there!"
Ryutaros adds, his tone excited, "I can hear it too! It's like… a weird, sticky sound, all mixed up with his thoughts! It's him, Ace! I'm sure of it!"
Ace grips his hands into fists, preparing to engage. He needs to be careful. He can't afford to make a mistake, not with the safety of these aspiring heroes on the line.
He takes a deep breath and approaches the table, a friendly smile plastered on his face. It's showtime.
"Hey there," Ace says, his voice casual and approachable. "Mind if I join you?"
