Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: Ending Of Suffering(final chapter)

Noxland, Riverfalls, 1995:

Jimin slumped against the cold stone wall, his body screaming in agony. Every breath burned. Every movement sent sharp pain through his limbs. Professor Ben had tore his soul apart—he had broken not just his body, but his will. He barely had the strength to keep his eyes open.

"Just let it end." He thought. A choked scream echoed outside his cell.

Jimin's heavy eyelids fluttered. A man scrambled backward, his face twisted in terror, hands raised as if begging for mercy.

Then—a shadow moved.

Jimin's pulse stuttered. "Am I dreaming?" His cracked lips parted, but no sound came out.

A figure stepped into the dim light.

Jungkook.

His fins glinted—sharp along his back, his ears, his knuckles. His eyes burned with fury. In one swift motion, he drove his claw straight into the man's chest. A wet, gurgling cry—then silence.

Jimin's breath caught. "No… it can't be…"

Jungkook turned. His gaze locked onto Jimin's broken form.

The rage in his eyes shattered.

"Jimin" His voice broke.

Jimin trembled. Tears blurred his vision. He tried to reach out, but his arm collapsed, useless. "Jungkook." He whispered in a low trembling voice. " Was this another cruel trick?"

Jungkook rushed forward, falling to his knees beside him. His hands—so careful, so warm—gently cradled Jimin's face.

"It's me," Jungkook choked out, tears streaming down his cheeks. "I'm here. I'm here"

Jimin sobbed. The sound tore from his throat, ragged and broken. He collapsed against Jungkook's chest, fingers weakly clutching his shirt. "Y-You came… you really came…"

Jungkook held him tighter, his body shaking. "I'm sorry," he whispered, voice thick with guilt. "I'm so sorry I wasn't here sooner."

Jimin buried his face in Jungkook's shoulder, his tears soaking into the fabric. Jungkook's arms wrapped around him like a shield, his grip desperate, as if he could erase every hurt with just his presence.

"I've got you," Jungkook murmured, pressing his forehead against Jimin's. "No one's ever touching you again. Never."

Jimin believed him.

_____

Present Time:

The cold wind howled over the black waves as Jimin stood at the shore, his fists clenched. The memories of that dark cell, the pain, the helplessness—it all burned inside him. Tonight, it ended.

Jungkook stood beside him, his sharp fins glinting under the moonlight. He watched Jimin carefully. "Are you sure you want to do this tonight?"

Jimin didn't hesitate. "Yes." His voice was steady, but his eyes burned with fury. "I'm killing Professor Ben. And every last one of them."

Jungkook nodded. He understood. He had seen what they did to Jimin. He had carried Jimin's broken body out of that place. "What about Anna?" he asked.

Jimin's jaw tightened. "After tonight, she won't matter. We'll leave this country when it's done."

Jungkook studied him for a moment. Then, he stepped closer, his voice low. "Then sing, Jimin. Make sure they hear it."

A slow, dangerous smile curved Jimin's lips. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then—he began to hum.

The sound was soft at first, barely a whisper over the wind. But then it grew, twisting through the air like a living thing. It slithered into the night, searching, hunting. No one could resist a hymn once it reached their ears.

"Blood calls for blood,

The debt comes due,

No mercy left—

I come for you.

The night will weep,

The shadows bend,

No prayer saves you—

This is the end."

"Run if you dare,

Beg if you must,

Your sins have claws—

In dust, you'll rust."

"Hear my song,

Now meet your fate,

Vengeance sings—

And it won't wait."

Jimin's voice grew stronger, darker. The hymn wrapped around his enemies like chains, dragging them toward their fate. He could feel them—Professor Ben, his men—their panic, their terror. They couldn't run. They couldn't hide.

Jungkook watched, his eyes glowing with pride. "Alright, then let's end things."

Jimin opened his eyes, his voice never faltering. "And they'll never hurt anyone again."

The sea roared behind them as the hymn swallowed the night.

The cold night air grew thick with tension as Professor Ben and the last of his organization members moved through the dark forest. Professor Ben's eyes glowed an eerie blue—his body now a twisted hybrid of human and Aquanis, as he had injected Jimin's stolen DNA.

Jimin stood still, watching them. The gentle song on his lips faded. His chest burned with fury, his pain turning into something far darker. His fists clenched so tight his nails dug into his palms. His eyes—once warm—now glowed with a dangerous light in the shadows.

"We've finally met," Jimin said, his voice low and deadly.

Beside him, Jungkook didn't hesitate. In one swift move, he lunged forward and drove his blade straight into the heart of one of the organization's men. The man crumpled to the ground before he could even scream.

Professor Ben stumbled back, fear flashing across his mutated face.

"You think you can hide after what you've become?"Jungkook spat, wiping blood from his hands.

Jimin didn't wait. He moved like a storm—fast, ruthless. One by one, he and Jungkook cut down the remaining members. The forest echoed with cries, but neither of them stopped. This was revenge. This was justice.

When only Professor Ben remained, the mad scientist tried to fight back. He swung wildly, his mutated body stronger than a human's—but not strong enough to fight against Jimin and Jungkook.

"Remember the old days, Jimin?" Ben hissed, desperate. "Remember how you suffered? How you begged?"

Jimin's eyes burned brighter. "I remember everything."

With one final, brutal strike, Jimin stabbed his claw into Ben's chest and took his heart out. Professor Ben's body hit the dirt, lifeless. The forest fell silent.

Breathing hard, Jimin stared at the carnage. The rage inside him didn't fade—but for the first time in years, he felt free.

Jungkook placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's over."

Jimin closed his glowing eyes. "Yes. It's finally over".

Anna stood by the window, her fingers pressed lightly against the cool glass. Outside, the soft melody of a hymn Jimin sang, drifted through the air, its peaceful tune clashing with the storm inside her.

Ryan had just told her everything—about Jimin and Jungkook. They weren't just strangers. They were Aquanis. And not just any Aquanis—they had killed humans. Many of them.

Her chest ached. She had trusted Jimin. Maybe even cared for him. Now, the truth sat heavy in her stomach like a stone. But beneath the hurt, something else stirred. A strange, thrilling pulse raced through her veins. As she never imagined Jimin could be an Aquanis. The thought sent a shiver down her spine. Fear? Excitement? She wasn't sure.

Her heart pounded. She should be afraid. She was afraid. But there was something else—something dangerous and electric. She closed her eyes, letting the hymn wash over her.

"What does this mean now?" A slow, uncertain smile touched her lips. She thought for a long moment, and finally Anna decided to forgive Jimin.

_____

The first light of dawn spilled through the curtains, painting the room in soft gold. Jimin stirred, his arms tightening around Anna as she lay against his chest. Her warmth, her scent—everything about her felt like home.

Anna sighed, nestling closer. Her fingers traced slow circles over his skin, still half-lost in the quiet magic of the morning.

"I still can't believe it," she whispered, her voice husky with sleep. "I married an Aquanis."

Jimin chuckled, the sound deep and warm against her ear. He tilted her chin up, his dark eyes full of amusement and love. "It's true," he murmured. "You're mine. And I'm yours."

Her heart fluttered. Even now, after everything, the thought sent a thrill through her. A man—no, a being—from another world loved her. Chose her.

His thumb brushed her lower lip, his gaze dropping to her mouth. The air between them grew thick, sweet with want.

Anna didn't wait. She pressed up, closing the last breath of distance between them. Their lips met—soft at first, then deeper, hungrier. Jimin's hand slid into her hair, holding her like she was everything.

The kiss burned slow and perfect, sealing promises made and dreams yet to come.

When they finally pulled apart, foreheads resting together, Anna smiled.

"Best reality ever," she whispered.

Jimin kissed her again. Because he could. Because she was his.

And because mornings like this were just the beginning.
