Chapter 115 - A Walk Somewhere

Stepping into the hall with Jessica is not what I was truly hoping for. William catches up to us before we get anywhere. "I said a tracer doesn't need to be directly on top of us." I tell him.

William shrugs. "What else should I do? Write a letter to Callie?"

"Stop that." Jessica faces him. I note his grin. "You're making her uneasy."

"In a good way? Contract's created if she wants to sign. I know becoming a head of house isn't an easy thing to agree to though."

Jessica grumbles but focuses on our walk.

I scan the hallways looking for answers to the day's events. I was marked too weak in battle to be of use. Now I can join the healers. Will I be good enough, though? I have little to no training. Although, I assume the head healer will make sure I am not clueless before leaving me to work.

"Excuse me? Your Highnesses? Your Lordship?"

I spin to see who is asking for us. No one else gets 'your highness'ed here. Xavier is back home. "Lord Keith?"

"He started with this 'your highness' nonsense." Jessica growls at me. "As if I didn't look up to him for the past fifteen years." I hold back my laughter.

Keith is Jessica's big brother. He fidgets. "It's... I want to be used to it. My little sister is going to be queen. I'm just a minister."

"I don't care." Jessica pokes his chest. "Your still my big brother. Stop acting like I'm higher than you."

"You kinda are...?" Keith Warton rubs the back of his head. "Anyway, I was questioning time lines of their Majesties."

I stare at him. "Then... Go see them?"

"No thank you." Keith grins. "I would very much like to keep very strict distance from everyone here."

I stare at him. "Oh. Raida said you'd make a good partner for her. Her relationship is over. Or will be soon." His eyes widen and it looks as if his knees lost all ability to support him.

"Keith?" Jessica grabs her brother's hand. "Why are you here asking about that?"

He gulps trying to strengthen himself. "I know we always have the royals come for any issues within a new land, but... We have problems. I can't fix them."

"Can I help?" Michael Swifting leans on Keith's shoulder. "You are not giving me that 'your lordship' nonsense again, are you?"

"But you're going to be a head of house." Keith shivers. "Can't I respect that?"

Michael eyes Jessica. "He did that to you too?" Jessica rolls her eyes. "He's such a bugger at times. We're the same level. And we're all human. I told you that."

Keith shivers again stepping away from all of us. "I am here as a minister. Their Majesties are needed-"

"Then we shall go see them." Michael takes hold of Keith's arm. "I am stronger than you."

"But, Michael."

"Good. We're on equal footing. I always said that." Michael drags Keith away.

"Very strange." Jessica huffs before focusing on our walk again. "Has he always treated you that way, William?"

"Yeah." William takes over as lead. "This way."

"Where are we going?"

"Some place safe." William smirks.

It wasn't trying to find a place I could help. I don't even know what I should expect. Although... Al is a strong goblin. That would only be possible if they have a predator attacking them. Humans aren't it. Teleportation... "William?"

"Yeah?"

"Father said you'd offer me us training with teleportation."

"So I'm teaching you languages and teleportation now, huh?" William shrugs. "When we have free time."

"Which isn't now?"

"Nope." William scans our surroundings before taking up both of our hands. "We're going somewhere safe after all."

Then we're gone.
