I lay in the cold, familiar bed of my chamber, the sheets tangled around me as my mind refused to quiet. The oppressive silence of the palace wrapped itself around me, as heavy and unyielding as the walls that trapped me within. I stared at the ceiling, unable to close my eyes for fear of what might come.
The events of the past few days had left me feeling hollow, like an empty vessel. I thought the Blackthorn pack would declare war, but it has been three moons now, nothing has happened. I guess they are also scared of him just like everyone else.
