Chapter 160 - Chapter 25: Blame

Following Jason's ideas, Zack is helping him collect information.

Jason didn't know whether his idea was right or not, it was just a guess.

"The list and information of all mutant families involved in the attacks are here, Nightwalker!"

Zack listed all the information he found. Now it was not only Jason who was looking at the information.

Others were also very curious about what Jason had hurriedly run back to the base today and asked Zack to find.

There were eighty-three documented cases of mutants going berserk before Christmas across the United States.

But before, have you overlooked some places, some places that are not easy to notice?

Jason was flipping through the information quickly.

"What exactly are you looking for?" Peter asked in confusion.

Recently, due to the influence of mutants, he has gone out to rescue people less frequently.

So as to avoid unnecessary trouble or even the hatred of some irrational people.

"It's an idea, but I'm not sure." Jason said without looking up as he flipped through the printed materials.

As he flipped through the materials, he took out certain pages and put them aside.

And he marked the key points with a marker.

Jason does not have the ability to have a photographic memory or read ten lines at a glance.

The stack of materials was very thick, although he only glanced at it, looking for key words.

But he still read very slowly, and it took him nearly an hour and a half to organize all the materials.

This also further strengthened an idea in his mind, although it seemed a bit absurd.

When he looked up, he saw the rest of the base gathered around him.

Just now everyone was paying attention to what he was doing, but no one disturbed him.

"Any special discoveries?" Frank Castle spoke first. He came here tonight for information about Stryker.

Jason pressed his swollen temples, sorted out his thoughts and then spoke slowly.

"Some interesting findings, we were missing something."

"These people have one very important thing in common besides the things we have discovered before."

Jason picked up the materials he had put together and said.

"Sixty of the families here have elders who participated in World War II."

Jason spread all the information in front of everyone.

"And what's even more coincidental is that these people almost all served in the same unit."

"Even if they didn't serve in the same unit, they fought in the same war."

Jason's tone gradually became serious, and everyone's faces became a little solemn.

"They all took part in the siege of the Eagle's Nest, the legendary last Nazi stronghold."

"You mean, these out-of-control mutants are the descendants of those World War II veterans?" Peter asked.

"I'm afraid so. There are at least forty mutants here who are direct descendants of World War II veterans."

"Among the remaining people, more or less are related to these veterans." Jason said, pointing to the information.

"So you're saying that someone is behind all this? Could it be that there are still remnants of the Nazis, and they are deliberately persecuting the descendants of those veterans in order to avenge what happened back then?"

Zack said with some exaggeration that he had a very big imagination and seemed to have been influenced by some third-rate novels.

Jason smiled at this statement. "If they really wanted to retaliate, they would have done it long ago."

"Why would they choose this time to retaliate? It's been seventy years since the war."

"There are probably only a few veterans left. And you've hidden your hatred for seventy years just to get revenge on a bunch of small-time people?"

Jason shook his head and said, "I think if there are really any Nazi remnants, they probably won't have such good patience."

"But it's clear that they have ties to the Nazis, and it's not just about revenge. I'm afraid it's more about provoking conflict or even war."

Jason's words are not alarmist.

"Speaking of the Nazis, there was a notorious special organization in the past," Frank Castle said.

"It's Hydra, but he should have been destroyed by Captain America by then."

This is actually what Jason wanted to say, but has the Hydra in this world been truly destroyed or is it lurking like in the original movie?

Jason couldn't make a judgment because the variables in this world were too great.

But if it's Hydra, then everything makes sense.

They are not simply Nazi remnants, nor are they simply seeking revenge.

Zack was only half right. I'm afraid Hydra wanted to stir up conflict between humans and mutants.

In the original story, they were lingering and wanted to create a pure Nazi world.

But Jason couldn't say the name Hydra himself.

Because it was obvious that he shouldn't know about this deeply hidden organization.

So the only way was to remind Frank Castle and get him to say the name.

With Frank's information network, it was not difficult to know the name of Hydra.

"If it really is Hydra, I suggest that everyone stop all investigations now." Frank Castle's face looked a little solemn.

"Why?" Peter asked the question everyone else wanted to know.

"If Hydra really didn't perish, but went into hiding, then Hydra would be a very terrifying organization!"

Jason agreed with what Frank Castle said. He still remembered that SHIELD was invaded by Hydra.

"You can't imagine how powerful Hydra is. Back then, Hydra extended its tentacles to almost every corner of the world."

"They sabotage, assassinate, create panic, and have all kinds of weird technology. I don't think our current team is capable of fighting Hydra."

Frank looked around and said.

He was telling the truth. Jason didn't think the current team could withstand Hydra's attack.

At most, someone will lead the team to charge, while his own team will play around.

"Nightwalker, well done. If your idea is correct, then we will avoid a crisis." Frank patted Jason on the shoulder.

There was a strong look of approval in his eyes, a look that Jason had never seen before.

There is a sense of recognition and appreciation, as well as a sense of relief.

"I will inform SHIELD about this matter. Professional matters should be left to professionals. If conflicts arise, let professionals resolve them." Frank said.

"Since Hydra is hiding so deeply, SHIELD may not be without their people." Jason reminded.

"The nine-headed snake is still alive even after death."

Frank nodded to show that he understood the importance of the matter.

If Hydra is really still there, then SHIELD is probably the most dangerous place.

You know, the earliest Scientific Secret Service, which is the predecessor of S.H.I.E.L.D., accepted many surrendered Nazi scientists.

But at least Jason used this method to remind Frank and Fury.

Even earlier, Frank and Fury had reached a secret plan.

Frank's opinion was accepted by everyone, and this matter was left to SHIELD to handle secretly.

I believe Fury still has his own trusted confidants, and the entire SHIELD is not composed of Hydra people.

Now we can only keep an eye on the follow-up development of this matter.

When Jason and Peter arrived at the base, it was already one o'clock in the morning.

According to the time, today is Christmas Eve, the eve of Christmas.

But I guess many people will not have a peaceful Christmas this year.

Jason didn't dare to guarantee that his inference was correct, perhaps it was all a coincidence.

It is possible that Hydra did nothing in there, or it is even possible that something happened to the soldiers when they attacked the Eagle's Nest, leading to this incident seventy years later.

After all, it is hard to say what kind of black technology Hydra has. The Nazis had all kinds of magical and weird props back then.

It is much more complicated than the Second World War in the previous life's history.

But Jason didn't care about these things. Anyway, the current situation was too intense.

He needs to find someone or an organization to divert the conflict.

Anyway, no matter whether this was done by Hydra or the mutants just got out of control by coincidence.

Anyway, we need to give people a window to vent and divert the conflict.

Hydra has to take the blame whether it wants to or not.

Anyway, they are clamoring to establish a Nazi state all day long, so let them take the blame.

Anyway, it's not unfair for them to bear the responsibility.
