Something enormous moved beyond the darkness, and a deep roar passed through the incomplete passage, shaking the windows of the broadcast station.
Chu Miao extended her spiritual sense toward the crack, but the death energy gathering around it blocked her view. She could only make out a massive humanoid figure covered in chains, with a crystal core glowing inside its chest.
"It is a zombie," she said. "A very large one."
Ye Xuan studied the silhouette and asked, "Can you tell its level?"
"No, but it is stronger than the two generals we killed at Red Maple Base."
"That sounds inconvenient."
"It would be more inconvenient if it entered the city."
The space around the crack continued breaking apart as black mist poured through the opening and spread across the formation.
Ye Xuan released his spiritual energy, forming a barrier that prevented the mist from reaching them. "Can you close the passage from this side?"
