Jax brought out a spell scroll and showed it to Carlton. The parchment was high quality, with intricate text that was in no way understandable to any human. But, the words did directly translate into the minds of those who read it.
Jax allowed Carlton to read part of it, who managed to understand what spell it was.
"Spellbreak," he said, his eyebrows rising slightly.
It was a spell that allowed someone to break out of any restriction spell, be they paralysis, binding, sleep effects, anything that limited movement or ability.
"If you join our party, I'll give this to you," Jax offered.
Carlton showed no emotion for a bit as though he was heavily considering the option. Jax could see the worth of this spell and wanted the man he thought it suit best to have it. Surely Carlton could see its worth too.
Carlton suddenly burst out into laughter. "You wish to purchase my services with just a spell?"
