After registering Miyu's identity with Rin Tohsaka, the local boss, Miyu successfully joined the extended family of Fuyuki City. Tiamat had even volunteered to be her guardian, but since she still looked like a child, Jiang You flatly refused, much to her mild displeasure.
Although everyone present had the power to shape Fuyuki's future, they were, at the end of the day, just high schoolers—minors. Even Bazett, the most reliable of the group, was an agent of the Clock Tower and not suitable to entrust with such responsibility. Thus, the final choice narrowed down to Jiang You and Minamoto no Raikou. After a brief staring contest, Jiang You ultimately claimed the honor.
"You'll be staying here for the time being," Jiang You said, settling Miyu in the Einzbern Castle. The castle had ample rooms; even with the permanent residents Illya and her two maids, plus the recent additions of Eresh and Tiamat, there were still plenty of empty rooms, which could be seen as adding some life to the place. Moreover, the Einzbern Castle was arguably the safest place in the world right now, making it the perfect sanctuary for Miyu.
"Thank you, Mr. Jiang You..." Miyu lacked common sense, but she understood basic etiquette.
"No need for such formality," Jiang You replied. The characters from Prisma Illya are too pure-hearted; they're nothing like the bitter, vengeful figures from the proper Type-Moon World.
"If you need anything, just ask Sella. If she can't handle it, I'll take care of it myself."
"Is that really possible?" Miyu asked, her tone polite but direct.
"I do have something I'd like to ask you, Mr. Jiang You," Miyu said without hesitation.
"Please, go ahead." Jiang You's side quest had already popped up, but he still had to go through the motions of politeness.
"I want to gain the power to protect my brother. I don't want to hide behind him and be a burden anymore."
Although Miyu couldn't discern who was the strongest among them, she could sense that everyone deferred to Jiang You. Whatever the case, his strength was likely assured. The strange flying device had also claimed Jiang You was powerful. "Please teach me, Mr. Jiang You!"
Jiang You glanced at the side quest "The Girl Next Door Comes of Age" in his task list. The objective was to train Miyu into a girl with the strength of a first-rate servant. The rewards were decent, covering nearly all of Miyu's cards. However, the quest description was frustratingly vague—what exactly constituted a "first-rate servant"?
"What can I teach you? How to play cards?"
Jiang You scratched his chin. He really didn't have much to teach Miyu. At most, he could give her some cards. If he added Tiamat's Axis to Miyu's Deck, she could easily crush Gilgamesh. The only question was whether that would count as fulfilling the mission requirements. After careful consideration, Jiang You proposed three options to Miyu.
"This isn't impossible. I have three ways for you to become stronger. Take a look and see which one you prefer."
Miyu stared intently at Jiang You, patiently awaiting his proposals.
"First, the safest but most time-consuming method: become an apprentice and learn from a master!"
Fuyuki City was teeming with Servants. Medea, Minamoto no Raikou, and Emiya were all excellent choices. As for Tiamat, her innate power couldn't be learned, while Eresh's Divine Authority was essentially her own, impossible to teach.
Miyu's expression remained completely unchanged, clearly uninterested in this option. It wasn't that she was unwilling to learn the hard way; rather, by the time she returned from her apprenticeship, the grass on her brother's grave would likely have grown three meters high.
"Secondly, adapt to Fuyuki's rules. Become a Duelist. With Miyu's experiences and your brother's strength, the Deck you create will be incredibly powerful, likely approaching top-tier levels."
"A Duelist... This is the effect of your Noble Phantasm, Mr. Jiang You, right?"
After receiving Jiang You's confirmation, Miyu immediately wanted to choose this method. To her, it meant she could summon her brother at any time, and the prospect of the siblings working together was simply too appealing.
"In that case, let's conduct an experiment."
Jiang You pulled out Tiamat's Deck. If things went smoothly, this side quest could be completed instantly.
"Try holding this Deck."
Miyu took the Deck from Jiang You's hand. A tremendous force surged from it, nearly overwhelming her arm. She almost collapsed under the weight, but Jiang You caught her in time and took the Deck back.
"I'm sorry... I don't think I can control this power."
Miyu was deeply disheartened. The mere aura of the Deck filled her with dread; if she were to truly battle with it, almost no one would stand a chance against her.
"As expected," Jiang You murmured.
Having gifted few Cards so far, Jiang You wasn't yet fully familiar with this mechanic. However, recalling Fairy Tristan's struggle to obtain Kiritsugu's Card, it seemed clear that acquiring a Card required gaining the corresponding character's approval. Even if Tiamat wanted to become Miyu's guardian, she couldn't bypass this requirement. The idea of circumventing the mission through trickery was clearly untenable.
"Don't worry, there's still a third way."
This method was guaranteed to work, as it was the canonical solution.
"Sign a contract and become a Magical Girl!"
"Huh?"
Miyu wanted to retort that this wasn't some anime where obtaining a transformation item instantly grants immense power. But she quickly remembered Prisma Illya, the Magical Girl she had summoned. Illya's strength grew simply by wearing a flimsy outfit—how absurd!
"Can this power save my brother?"
"Absolutely. It'll be a piece of cake."
After all, Ruby and Sapphire were creations of the Kaleidoscope himself.
"Then I'll become a Magical Girl!"
As long as she gained the power, Miyu didn't care about her attire.
"Then we'll have to seize our opportunity."
Sapphire was still in Luviagelita's possession, so Jiang You decided to take it—along with her Jewel!
After helping Miyu tidy up her room, Jiang You returned to the script selection page. As expected, a new portal had appeared, but only one. This meant one of the worlds was inaccessible by direct entry—it didn't take a genius to guess which one. Sure enough, reaching the grand finale wouldn't be easy.
"Well, let's go take a look anyway."
Jiang You pushed open the portal. Inside, a thick mist swirled, filling the air with warm, damp steam that clung to him like a second skin, accompanied by the sound of rushing water. As he parted the mist, trying to discern the scene, a familiar scream pierced his eardrums.
Only then did Jiang You realize he had somehow ended up in a bathroom.
