Chapter 66 - 66. Rain in Jiangnan (1)

Lin Shengxia only ate one bite of that meal.

No matter what Gu Zekai called her for, she would always prioritize dealing with his issues.

They quickly arrived at the agreed location, but were not surprised at all that Gu Zekai had not yet arrived.

She made him suffer a loss, so naturally the man harbored resentment towards her.

So even though he was the one who made the appointment, he still acted arrogantly and was late.

The setting sun was a deep red, and she leaned against the car, enjoying the rare tranquility.

The orange-red light shone on her jade-like face. Lin Shengxia's hair was not tied up in a bun as usual, but simply hung down naturally behind her.

Occasionally, she would relax like this.

The roar of a sports car came rushing in, then the sound of brakes abruptly stopped beside her.

Large sunglasses covered most of Gu Zekai's face, his strong hands gripped the steering wheel, and he wore a simple shirt and trousers, yet he managed to exude a unique aura.

Lin Shengxia couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

This man is truly a chosen one!

"I'm calling to say you're not coming home tonight. I don't want to be tricked by you again!" Gu Zekai's cold voice reached Lin Shengxia's ears. She stared at him blankly, feeling an indescribable joy in her heart.

But as proud as she was, she showed no sign of it on her face.

"Even if I never go back, they will just applaud and cheer."

Lin Shengxia opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.

Upon seeing this, Gu Zekai's forehead veins seemed to throb.

"What? Mr. Gu seems to have a problem with me sitting here? I'm just worried about getting carsick!" Lin Shengxia's voice sounded mocking to Gu Zekai.

He clenched his fist, then started the car and drove off towards the highway.

"Where are we going?" Lin Shengxia opened the car window, and the surging wind lifted her hair, carrying a faint fragrance that was different from the perfume in the car.

Her only response was silence.

Gu Zekai disliked her to the point of not wanting to respond, and Lin Shengxia noticed this, her eyes dimming slightly.

Tang Huainan shook his head helplessly as he faced the table full of dishes.

Place the cut fruit on a plate, cover it with plastic wrap, and put it in the refrigerator.

His calloused fingers moved smoothly through a series of movements, and even standing in the kitchen, his handsome figure showed no trace of effeminacy.

The cell phone in the bedroom rang, playing a loud military song.

"Hello?" The deep, resonant voice came through the phone's microphone, causing her to pause slightly.

"I'm sorry—did I bother you?"

The soft voice reached Tang Huainan's ears, and it took him a while to match the voice with the face of its owner in his mind.

"Is it Su Nuan?"

Tang Huainan then remembered that he had left his phone number with Su Nuan when he took her back to T City last time.

"Is there something you need?" His voice seemed distant, but there was a smile on his lips.

"There's something I need your help with—"

On the other end of the phone, Su Nuan hesitated for a moment before speaking.
