Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: The End of Infinity

The Emissaries in the sky unleashed everything they had upon one another, causing a massive explosion that swept them from the sky—like a signal marking the true beginning of the battle.

Instantly, the Guardians' eyes lit up, and they opened fire on Greed in unison.

Greed charged forward, absorbing the bullets without slowing.

In response, the Guardians activated their engines, retreating while continuing to fire.

What ensues is utter chaos, as Greed aggressively pursues the Guardians through the sky as they open fire with their energy cannons.

To Greed, however, it was all child's play.

It absorbed the attacks effortlessly. From the glowing gems embedded in its body, it unleashed a barrage of searing light rays.

Several Guardians were struck, exploding on contact.

The remaining ones quickly raised their shields, but Greed's beams pierced through, inflicting further damage.

Realizing the danger, the Guardians drew their swords and charged, forming a line and raising shields to protect one another.

Yet Greed's beams tore through them one by one. Each wounded Guardian disengaged from formation, ensuring they didn't hinder the rest.

Despite the casualties, the Guardians closed the distance.

They raised their enchanted swords and struck.

An explosion erupted, cloaking the sky in smoke.

Within the haze came the sounds of tearing metal and destruction.

The blast cleared, revealing Greed—still standing.

Its three heads held broken Guardian blades in their jaws, while other swords remained lodged in its body, magic still radiating from them.

With a growl, Greed snapped the swords in its mouths and shattered the ones embedded in its flesh, draining their remaining magic.

It scanned the Guardians surrounding it—then roared.

Its massive body curled inward—and split.

From one Cerberus, three identical Greeds emerged.

They exchanged glances—then split off to attack.

The Guardians fired missiles and rushed forward, swords raised.

The Greeds effortlessly dodged the missiles and tore through the Guardians with their claws, ripping apart weapons and armor.

Worse still, they began devouring the Guardians' cores, growing even more unstable.

The tide had turned. The Guardians were outmatched.

Then, without warning, their entire system network crashed. Greed had absorbed enough cores to take full control.

Paralyzed by system errors, the Guardians lost energy and began to fall.

Greed merged back into one being and watched their descent, grinning with twisted satisfaction.

But just as it let down its guard, a beam of light struck it.

Though unharmed, it was clearly startled.

Greed turned to see a lone Guardian standing firm, weapon aimed directly at it.

Confused—Greed had already hijacked their network—it tried to disconnect this one again, but failed.

The Guardian remained, staring back defiantly.

Before Greed could react, more beams struck it.

Turning, it saw the other Guardians rising.

Still confused, it then heard voices:

"It seems the gods gave us one last chance to reclaim our homeland."

"That's why we won't lose."

"It's all because of Utopia."

These were no longer mere machines—they were now powered by the souls of the Utopians, refusing to retreat.

They charged.

Greed retaliated, firing beams in every direction—but the Guardians moved with elegant precision, dodging with grace no machine should possess.

They closed in, swords flashing.

Greed blocked, but this time, it was facing true warriors.

Energy gathered at their gun muzzles—then exploded outward, engulfing Greed in fire and sound.

But as before, it emerged with only a scratch.

Enraged, it split into three and attacked again.

When one Greed reached a Guardian, the warrior didn't dodge—instead, he used his own bodies to restrain it, giving others a chance to strike.

Still, their blades had little effect. Greed hurled them aside, then unleashed a massive energy claw.

The Guardians scattered—only to regroup and shift tactics.

What had been a battle became a siege.

"We can't beat them head-on. Let's stall as long as we can to buy the King time."

"Yes, sir."

The Utopians now fought with strategy—harassing from range, dodging, and blocking rather than engaging directly.

Elsewhere, Chaos and Envy clashed violently.

Every attack Chaos launched, Envy absorbed and reflected.

"That's not fair," Chaos huffed.

But Envy ignored her, charging forward, releasing black shadows that devoured everything they touched.

Chaos didn't block—she knew better.

She dodged continuously as the shadows consumed the ground.

"So annoying," she muttered, unable to counterattack.

Envy lunged, its tail stretching and wrapping around her.

Just as it tightened, Chaos threw her spear—and instantly swapped places with it, escaping as Envy absorbed only the weapon.

"If only Order were here… this would be easier," Chaos sighed. "Still… I can't let them down."

Her eyes flared with resolve.

She plunged her spear into the ground—suddenly, countless spears erupted across the battlefield.

"Alright," she grinned. "Let's play tag."

She raised her spear skyward, and the others followed.

They began flying, surrounding both battlefield and Envy.

Envy, envious of Chaos's power, charged.

But Chaos simply smiled—and vanished again.

A spear exploded where she had stood, dazing Envy.

"Dizzy?" Chaos taunted.

Envy shook off the disorientation and lunged again.

More teleportation. More explosions.

"Catch me if you can."

Chaos hurled a spear and teleported—again and again.

In mere moments, she had thrown dozens, each exploding near Envy, engulfing it in fire.

"Think that's enough?"

But from the flames, Envy's tail lashed out—piercing her.

Blood flowed.

"Damn…"

She tried to remove the tail, but it was lodged deep.

A sudden wave of unease swept over her as she looked up to find Envy staring directly at her.

Worse, Envy's dark mist engulfed her, blocking teleportation.

"This is cheating…" she gasped.

Envy advanced, jaws open to devour her.

Chaos resisted, using arm to hold the jaws at bay.

Envy poured all its strength into closing its jaws, while Chaos struggled with all her might to keep them apart. But little by little, her strength was drained—overwhelmed by Envy's relentless force

Just as she was about to lose—

From the sky, the Guardians forced Greed downward.

The two demons collided—giving the Guardians a chance to grab Envy's head and pull it away while another Guardian rescued Chaos.

He cradled her in his hand.

"You alright?"

"I'll recover soon…"

"No way to beat them?"

"Sorry… we were born from the King. We only know what he knows… We're blind to them."

"Then this'll be hard."

They retreated to observe.

Elsewhere, the battle raged.

Envy and Greed refused to cooperate, often interfering with each other.

The Guardians capitalized, baiting them into attacking one another.

The tactic partly worked—each struck the other—but the collateral damage was immense.

Even so, Chaos, watching closely, spotted something.

"I… I saw it."

"What did you see?"

"A way to defeat them. But… it won't be easy."

"How will you know until you try?"

"You're right," she smiled. "I guess there's only one way to find out."

Whispering her plan to the Guardian, it was relayed across their ranks.

Starting with the Guardians split up, attacking the Greeds simultaneously from all directions, driving them into a frenzy and forcing them to give chase.

The first step was a success. Time for the next.

Next, another group launched suicide attacks to pin Envy down.

When the stage was set, Chaos summoned a spear and hurled it skyward.

The moment it pierced the clouds, a rain of spears fell—impaling Greed and Envy.

It wouldn't hold them long—but it didn't need to.

"It's now or never!" Chaos shouted.

Immediately, the Guardians activated their engines at maximum power and launched themselves toward the two.

The spears around them transformed into Chaos clones, latching onto Envy and Greed without hesitation.

The Chaos clones exerted all their strength to force them together, but both resisted fiercely.

Envy lashed out with dark whips, draining the energy from any clone she caught, while Greed unleashed bursts of radiant beams in every direction.

The number of Chaos clones rapidly dwindled—but the Guardians closed in at an overwhelming speed.

With the momentum they had gained, the Guardians surged forward, combining their efforts and forcefully pushing Envy and Greed together.

Finally, the two demons were forced together.

As soon as they sensed each other's energy, their abilities activated instinctively.

Envy's darkness attempted to engulf Greed, while Greed absorbed Envy in return.

The two endlessly fed on each other.

Realizing the danger, they tried to escape, but were held in place by the clones and Guardians.

Chaos soared above, gripping her spear tightly.

She channeled all her remaining magic into it—and hurled it down.

"Try absorbing this!"

The spear flew between them, releasing a massive surge of magic that amplified their powers, making them grow stronger and stronger.

Envy and Greed screamed in agony as their bodies slowly disintegrated, each struggling to absorb the other.

When their roars finally faded, both Envy and Greed were gone, having consumed each other until not even a molecule remained.

Nothing remained but a gaping hole.

Chaos exhaled in relief—but collapsed, caught by a Guardian.

Sitting up, she stared at the crater.

"Awesome… we won," she whispered.

The Guardians cheered in unison.

Chaos had exhausted her energy—and fell into peaceful sleep.

The battle ended with the determination and solidarity of the people of Utopia and Chaos, as Envy and Greed consumed each other completely and vanished without a trace.
