Liam's POV.
The morning light had suddenly become glaring, but it didn't irritate me; I felt excited for some reason.
Madeline was here.
With me. Beside me.
Meeting my family.
It was surreal, like watching a movie, though I had acted in a few movies; this part of my life made me feel like the main lead. One minute, we were cautiously moving around each other, and now she is fluttering along with my family.
I stood beside her during the family photoshoot, stiff at first, my heart thudding, then she turned to me and whispered, "You have a mole on your cheek. It's cute."
And my head whipped to her side, my lips turned up, I have never felt this happy before, whenever someone mentioned the word 'cute'.
I wanted to kiss her, right there, in front of my overly loud family, beneath the morning sky. I reached for her hand and slowly, so slowly until I felt her skin, her hands were cold.
She looked down at our hands, then up at me.
And she smiled.
