Lilith's POV
As much as I wanted to tell my son everything, I couldn't bring myself to. My shameful past, my reckless decisions, if I had seen past the facade, if my head had been clear enough to see the signs, none of this would have happened.
My hands were stained with the blood of a dear one, and I couldn't let the same happen to her daughter.
''I met Madeline's mum and Marco when I was in college,''
I could see the restlessness and the visible frustration on Liam's face, ''I already know that!''
''Then wait and listen.'' I shot back.
As much as I understood his pain, my story was not easy to tell, especially since Sebastian was here.

''Little girls like you shouldn't be here.''
That voice alone was enough to set my guts on fire. I glared at him, ''We are not little!''
He smirked, coming closer, the dim yellow light slowly falling on his face as he eyed us, ''Yeah, I can see that''
