Chapter 409 - [409] A Bit Worried About You

Boom!

Boom!

Like an earthquake, chunks of the ultra-hard metal walls crumbled away.

Wherever the Minotaur passed, even this unimaginably sturdy labyrinth gradually turned to ruins.

Walls that Gareth would need to go all out to break through for quite some time were as fragile as paper under the trampling of her iron hooves.

"Don't run away, come play with me!"

The Demi-Spirit wore an innocent smile, tirelessly chasing after her prey ahead.

Eiji ignored her, his gaze sweeping over the passageways on either side.

At a certain moment, he pivoted sharply and dashed into a side corridor.

Without hesitation, the Demi-Spirit pursued him, following him into a vast chamber at the end of the passage.

Inside the empty metal room, Eiji came to a stop and turned to face the terrifyingly powerful monster.

Boom!

The walls instantly cracked apart.

Through relentless charging, the Demi-Spirit arrived in this spacious chamber.

Then—

She grinned widely, driving the lower half of her monstrous bull body to let out an ear-splitting roar before galloping forward on all fours, stomping toward Eiji with overwhelming force!

The metal floor dented under each step, tremors like seismic waves radiating outward.

With that kind of power, being trampled would undoubtedly turn one into paste on the spot!

Not even Airmid could bring someone back from that.

Even so, Eiji raised his twin swords and charged headlong toward the Demi-Spirit!

At the very moment before being crushed beneath its massive hooves, he swiftly crouched low, sliding beneath the monster's belly. His twin swords slashed upward like a pair of saw blades, cutting parallel lines across its underbelly!

Screeeech—!

Sparks erupted violently.

The two passed each other, and Eiji twisted his waist mid-motion, spinning back onto his feet. He stared at the Minotaur in disbelief.

"Are you kidding me? Not even a scratch on its belly?"

A closer look revealed only two faint white marks on the Minotaur's underside.

Eiji's full-powered slashes hadn't even broken its skin!

True, he wasn't particularly strong.

But the Twin Wings Style allowed him to channel the full force of his muscles in an instant—meaning every strike carried his maximum strength. Even wielding dual swords didn't diminish his power; if anything, he was stronger now than when he used a single blade!

The reason he could block Revis's strikes with just one arm wasn't just due to the incredible force-dispersing technique of Harmony with Light and Dust—it was also because he could mobilize his entire body's strength from any stance without worrying about kinetic disruption.

In other words, each of his earlier slashes surpassed the strength of an ordinary Level 5, each breaking the sound barrier!

Yet they couldn't even pierce what should have been its weakest point—the belly.

This Minotaur's defensive power was absurd!

It probably rivaled the ultra-hard metal itself. Even Gareth might struggle to break through its defenses!

ROAR!

Noticing her prey had slipped away, the Demi-Spirit's face twisted in displeasure.

The Minotaur monster roared before suddenly spinning around in a wide arc, turning its massive body to face the insect once more.

BOOM!

With a thunderous stomp, the Minotaur unleashed its full might, charging like a living cannonball through the air, barreling straight toward Eiji!

No way to block it!

The thought flashed through Eiji's mind in an instant before he leaped away with a spin.

Amidst a tremendous roar, the Minotaur crashed headfirst into the wall, its glossy black horns embedded deep into the ultra-hard metal, momentarily stuck.

"Perfect chance!"

Utilizing his agile frame, Eiji circled back beside the monster and vaulted upward, his twin blades slicing toward its upper body with deadly precision.

No matter how powerful the parasitic monster might be, its main body remained a glaring weak point!

"Ah!"

The Demi-Spirit let out a sharp cry.

Suddenly, a silver streak whizzed in from the left.

It was the Minotaur's tail, now coiling protectively around its upper torso before lashing out at Eiji mid-air with such speed that it nearly blurred his vision.

Clang!

But Eiji had anticipated this. His left blade arced in a perfect circle, deflecting the strike from the side.

Simultaneously, his body descended rapidly, sparks flying as his blade scraped along the tail, using the downward momentum to drive straight toward the Demi-Spirit's chest!

Yet abruptly, another streak shot in from the opposite side.

"Two tails?"

He hadn't noticed at all.

But it didn't matter!

Instinctively, Eiji activated his Absolute GodSpeed ability. If he could surpass the tail's speed, he could land a decisive blow before it struck.

Then, abruptly—

A bone-chilling dread surged through him.

Without thinking, Eiji instinctively raised his blade in defense. The tail whipped forward like a scourge, slamming into him with brutal force and sending him flying backward into the distant wall.

Cough!

His chest heaved violently as he hit the ground, coughing twice.

What was that just now?

For a split second, an overwhelming sense of danger had engulfed him.

"Hmm?"

The Demi-Spirit tilted her head.

She didn't understand why Eiji had suddenly retreated.

Whoosh—!

A sudden emerald gale howled through the air.

A golden figure emerged from the withered passageway, her sword sheathed in swirling wind as she thrust forward in a spiraling motion toward the Demi-Spirit's upper body.

"Ais! Don't touch that thing!"

Ais's expression flickered.

Eiji's warning made her instinctively hold back some of her strength.

Then—

"—Tremble, Wrath of Heaven!"

A terrifying grin spread across the woman's face.

A single verse!

Ultra-short chant!

With the Demi-Spirit's mastery of high-speed incantations, the preparation was completed in an instant.

"—Veil of Bone-Rending!"

Ais froze.

Before her eyes materialized a membrane of lightning!

The Demi-Spirit's upper body and the Minotaur's lower half were instantly encased in crackling armor, which then erupted in an omnidirectional storm of electric currents.

Ais's eyes widened in shock.

Mid-air with no leverage, she instinctively summoned a gale to shield herself.

Lightning clashed violently against the wind, sending chaotic shockwaves rippling through the entire chamber.

"So strong!"

Fear gripped Ais instinctively.

The lightning's power far exceeded her expectations, shredding her wind barrier in less than half a second before surging toward her like a grasping hand.

Thankfully, the wind had bought her just enough time to twist out of harm's way at the last moment.

"An enchantment-type spell?"

She landed, her gaze wary.

"What are you doing here?"

Eiji appeared beside her, glaring.

"I was a bit worried about you."

Ais snapped out of her thoughts, her gaze fixed firmly on him.

Fine then.

If you're going to say that, then I really can't argue with you.

Eiji mentally noted: You have breasts, so you're right.

"What about the others?"

"They already escaped."

She had secretly returned only after Tiona and the others had left the dungeon.
