Chapter 957 - Chapter 957

Chapter 957: Let's Meet Up with Chaldea

"I-I'm going back! I'll have Mother adjust me—it must be because the bestowed name is unstable! Let's go now, using this 'Mirror' Mother personally gave me!"

Fairy Tristan hastily pulled out a mirror, which naturally rippled open before her like a clear water surface, forming a portal.

As soon as the portal opened, she hurriedly picked up Beryl's upper and lower body and rushed inside.

"Wait, my third leg hasn't—"

The voice cut off abruptly.

The portal had already closed.

Damn! This naive princess is infuriating!

...

"He's still not dead?"

The moment Beryl disappeared, Eiji seemed to sense something and looked up, gazing into the unknown distance while muttering discontentedly.

"What's wrong, Mr. Eiji?"

Mash noticed his whisper and approached curiously.

"Nothing, just that a prey got away."

Eiji waved his hand dismissively.

That Beryl guy—I never expected him to repeatedly evade the Demon's causal attraction.

Is he really that unafraid of death?

After Beryl left, Eiji had been channeling his power as a Demon, continuously attempting to use it to kill Beryl.

The Demon's causal attraction can pull the causality of death onto someone, making it an extremely powerful ability in one-sided battles.

However, whether this ability works usually depends on whether the opponent possesses the will to resist.

If the opponent becomes paralyzed with fear when facing death, losing all will to resist, the causal attraction intensifies greatly, ultimately causing the opponent to completely succumb and be easily killed by causality.

But if the opponent is a ruthless person utterly unafraid of death, feeling even refreshed when confronting it and still wanting to fight back, then the causal attraction weakens significantly. Instead of causing death, it can only inflict injuries.

Normally, only a Demon can oppose another Demon; only causal attraction can counter causal attraction.

But occasionally, there are perverts with twisted personalities!

During this time, Eiji had repeatedly triggered the causality of death, yet the causal thread between him and Beryl showed no sign of breaking!

This meant Beryl's fearlessness had reached a level where he could resist causal attraction—that guy simply didn't care about his own death and wasn't afraid at all!

"What a shame... but there will be plenty of opportunities. I'll deal with him later."

Though somewhat regretful, Eiji didn't dwell on it.

The gap in their strength was vast, and it would only widen over time, leaving no room for reversal. Beryl might as well find himself a nice burial spot.

"Rebelling is exhausting!"

Eiji stretched vigorously, unable to resist complaining.

Realizing further pursuit was futile, Fairy Gawain and Fairy Lancelot gave up chasing and turned to slaughter the remaining residents in Sheffield. Eiji no longer needed to expend effort stopping them.

Fighting one against two nonstop while constantly monitoring the battlefield, rescuing Bogart, assisting Mash in saving others... The work done in this single night surpassed what would normally be accomplished in an entire month. It wasn't just physical strength and magical energy that were drained—even his spirit felt weary.

"How is Bogart?"

Eiji approached Grimm and Habenyan.

Bogart lay before them, surrounded by a few of his loyal followers.

"He was ninety percent dead, but fortunately, he clung to a last breath—likely due to some unresolved obsession. With Habenyan's help, we managed to pull him back from the brink of death!"

Grimm let out a heavy exhale, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he flashed a relieved smile.

Mash and Habenyan also sighed in relief.

"Lord Bogart!"

At the joyful cries of his followers, Bogart slowly opened his eyes.

"Where is this…? So, I was defeated by ████ and then saved—what about Sheffield? How is Sheffield?!"

"Lord Bogart…"

One of the Fang Clan followers responded with a sorrowful expression, pointing toward the distant horizon, where flames dyed half the sky crimson.

Staring at the sea of fire, Bogart froze for a moment before letting out a bitter, self-mocking laugh.

"So, the city I painstakingly built over a hundred years… was destroyed in the time it takes to light a single fire…"

Silence fell over the group.

A hundred years—that was an incredibly long history.

All the effort Bogart had poured into that city had been utterly obliterated in just one day.

"Lord Bogart, your injuries haven't healed yet!"

"Step aside! I am of the Fang Clan—wounds like these are nothing!"

Ignoring his subordinates' attempts to stop him, Bogart struggled to his feet.

Though severe burns still covered his body, with muscles and tendons necrotized and gone, his vitality was gradually returning. The resilience of the Fang Clan was truly tenacious.

"It's not over yet! I'm still alive, and so are many others! I haven't reached the end of my rope!"

Bogart glared intently at the refugees before him.

In the eyes of the fairies from other cities, these disheveled individuals were nothing but burdens. But to Bogart now, they were his last remaining treasure.

"I'm going to Norwich!"

Bogart suddenly roared at the top of his lungs.

"I will save my homeland! Save Norwich, which has fallen into a great calamity due to the cowardly queen's neglect and may very well be destroyed! Those who dislike this can leave now—the rest, follow me!Eiji shrugged, his expression subtle.

So, this guy finally learned to listen after suffering a setback—but why does even expressing his ideals have to sound so arrogant and unruly?

The refugees exchanged glances. Some left, while others stayed.

"You probably won't be coming with me."

Bogart's voice reached them even as he kept his back turned.

"Then let me give you some advice—if you're looking for the rebel army led by humans, head to Londinium! There, you'll find the Warden of the Human Domain, the White Light's Percival!"

With that, Bogart departed with his group of fewer than a hundred.

"The White Light's Percival… Could that be the Heroic Spirit from Proper Human History, Sir Percival, the second seat of the Round Table?"

Mash became extremely excited, her expression filled with admiration.

"What do we do next?"

Grim watched the group with keen interest.

"Since we're already here, I'll accompany you until you no longer need me!"

"I'll follow Mash!"

Habetrot declared straightforwardly.

"Londinium... We'll have to go there sooner or later."

Eiji pondered and nodded thoughtfully.

"But the top priority is to gather the strength of Proper Human History as much as possible. So our next destination is unquestionable—we must reunite with Chaldea!"

"Let's head to the southernmost city of Britain—the Wind Clan's Salisbury!"

"Yes!"

Mash immediately responded upon hearing this. Having regained her memories, she was deeply concerned about her senior's safety.

Grim and Habetrot exchanged a glance, both smiling and nodding in agreement.
