Chapter 1036 - Chapter 1036

Chapter 1036: Vidi of the Wind Clan

Around the year 3000 of the Fairy Calendar, the Queen of the North returned from Ireland and initiated the Summer War, which was later mediated by Beryl. It was only after this event that Mab, a northern fairy, was designated by Beryl as the sixth clan.

From then on, the six great clans encompassed both northern and southern fairies, evolving into the current Wind, Earth, Fang, Wing, Mirror, and King Clans.

Among them, the King Clan is led by the Queen of the North, Mab, and consists of northern fairies!

"The King Clan in the true sense consists of Mab alone. However, Mab is a queen ant-type fairy; she can bestow her own power upon fairies who join her ranks, which attracted many stray fairies to join, thus forming the King Clan."

Moreover, Mab's power is exceptionally formidable.

She was even able to contend on equal terms with Uther, who had Beryl's assistance, leading to peace being achieved only through marriage.

"By the way, I've always wondered, how was the Rain Clan destroyed?"

Eiji suddenly thought of a question.

By the year 2018 of the Queen's Calendar, 2400 years later, the original six great clans had been reduced to four. The Mirror Clan was destroyed by the Fairy Dragon, and the Wing Clan was said to have been annihilated by the Fang Clan.

Yet, regarding the earliest Rain Clan, there are no records in later history.

"Well..."

Harvey the Cat's eyes suddenly shifted evasively.

"It was destroyed overnight."

At that moment, Beryl spoke up, answering Eiji's question.

"The Wind, Earth, Fang, and Wing Clans formed an alliance. The Rain Clan had no resistance and was completely wiped out in just one night."

Harvey the Cat lowered her head, remaining silent.

"This has nothing to do with Trotrot, so you don't need to blame yourself."

Beryl's face broke into a gentle smile as she comforted Harvey the Cat.

"Beryl, you..."

Harvey the Cat gave Beryl a complicated look.

After all, you were the one who suffered the most!

"The church where the coronation ceremony will be held is just ahead, and the clan leaders have gathered there!"

The human guard leading the way interjected at that moment.

Everyone's attention was diverted.

Soon, a magnificent church came into view before them.

The doors were wide open, as if not intending to block anyone.

However, an astonishingly dense magical power emanated from within the church. Dozens of high-ranking fairies and several clan leaders stood inside, their presence alone enough to make lower-ranking fairies tremble with fear, too intimidated to enter.

"Ryneck really didn't come."

Ector scanned the hall, muttering discontentedly.

Ryneck, the leader of the Fang Clan, was also one of Beryl's secret admirers and naturally clashed with Uther. Whenever the two were together, trouble was bound to ensue.

Ryneck looked down on Uther and would never attend his coronation ceremony.

"It's just as well that he didn't come. If Ryneck were here, not only would he cause trouble during the coronation, but he'd also likely pick a fight with Eiji!"

Harvey the Cat seemed indifferent, even pleased.

"If those two were to fight, Londinium might not be able to handle it!"

The entire city could potentially be destroyed.

That would be too unfair to Uther.

"The leader of the Wind Clan looks so much like Miss Aurora, the Earth Clan leader resembles Sprygan by eighty percent, and the Wing Clan leader is quite similar to Miss Muram too..."

Mash carefully observed each one in detail.

Eiji was also scanning the fairies seated in the most luxurious positions.

Just as Mash had noted, these fairies largely resembled their 2400-year-later counterparts, since fairies were beings that renewed themselves even after death.

When one generation perished, the next would quickly emerge to reclaim the clan leadership.

"The King Clan leader hasn't arrived either?"

Cernunnos's gaze swept across the gathering, her expression slightly downcast.

"They must indeed be dissatisfied with the arranged marriage I proposed..."

"Dissatisfied?"

"Yes, Uther doesn't like Mab, and Mab doesn't like Uther either. Theirs is purely a political marriage—in name only, without any real marital bond... That's what I told her back then, and Mab only reluctantly agreed."

Cernunnos explained.

It was essentially for the sake of peace.

That was why Mab had agreed to Cernunnos's proposal to become Uther's nominal wife.

Her deliberate absence from Uther's coronation ceremony was meant to express her discontent.

"The Mirror Clan leader doesn't seem to be here either?"

"That clan is famously low-key. Their leader never shows their face, as it could easily cause trouble. Sending clan members here is already giving considerable face."

With every Mirror Clan fairy possessing foresight, anyone who met them would try to curry favor, making the risk of causing incidents extremely high.

In the end, only the leaders of the Wind, Earth, and Wing Clans were present.

"Have you asked them yet?"

The group took their seats at the front of the grand hall.

Eiji sat close to Cernunnos, leaning in to whisper by her ear.

"Not yet."

Tickled by his breath, Cernunnos brushed aside a strand of her golden hair near her temple.

"Asking them now whether they plan to poison might tip them off and cause issues for Uther's side. We'll find out after everything concludes—they can't escape my notice."

Asking now would likely alert the suspect, potentially causing them to abandon any poisoning plans.

That would instead make it harder to carry out the plan to fake Uther's death.

Eiji understood her reasoning.

They would wait and observe for now.

"Miss Cernunnos, it's been a while."

Shortly after they settled in, a voice as soothing as a spring breeze reached them.

"Miss Videl, what brings you here?"

Cernunnos stood up, her tone cool and detached as she smiled and inquired.

Before them stood a female fairy with long golden hair and beautiful rainbow-colored wings. Her face always bore a gentle smile that naturally inspired goodwill.

"Miss Cernunnos, do you always seem to have some issue with me?"

Videl showed a hint of confusion, her expression tinged with sorrow.

"I only wish to build a good relationship with you."

"Is this the first you're learning that I don't like you?"

Cernunnos continued to smile gently.

Yet her words carried an inexplicable sharpness, and her eyes held no trace of warmth.

"Very well, then I won't stay here to offend your sight, Miss Cernunnos."

Videl departed with a downcast expression.

"Miss Videl, you really didn't need to greet that woman!"

"Yes, she's not even a fairy from our side, yet she shamelessly remains here!"

"Don't say that, we're all companions..."

From where Videl sat, faint murmurs of discontent could be heard.

"Wasn't that person just now...?"

Mash gazed at the familiar figure with a dazed expression.

"Vivian, chief of the Wind Clan, is also my primary suspect!"

Caden's hostility was barely concealed.

"Her true nature is far more repulsive than she appears! Don't be deceived by her outward appearance!"

"Is that so?"

Mash looked utterly astonished.

Based on her brief encounter with Miss Aurora in Salisbury, that person didn't seem like a bad sort at all?

That female fairy was undoubtedly Aurora's predecessor!

Eiji could confirm this with certainty.

He suddenly remembered something.

When Merlin had begged him not to confront Aurora, she had once said something.

"Aurora is already over 2,400 years old. Her predecessor died around the time of the Autumn War..."

Eiji narrowed his eyes.

Could it be...?

Double update, still doing nucleic acid tests, absolutely unbelievable.
