Chapter 1058: The First Pilgrimage Bell
Camelot.
In this world without electricity, after the sun sets, even the fairies would quiet down from their daytime clamor, allowing the royal capital to grow tranquil.
"The moonlight is truly beautiful tonight."
Standing in the palace corridor, Eiji gazed up at the bright moon outside the window.
In the night sky, the dull yellow clouds were nowhere to be seen. The clear, bright moon shone like a silver platter, and simply staring at its cool radiance could calm one's heart.
"Not sleeping yet?"
At that moment, a woman's voice called out from beside him.
"Morgan."
Eiji turned to look at her.
She had come to his side and was gazing at the moon alongside him.
Her attire was no different from during the day, though she had removed her crown and veil, and her staff was not in hand. A faint, elusive smile graced her face.
Compared to her tense demeanor during the day, she now carried a subtle sense of relaxation.
Her silver hair harmonized especially well with the moonlight.
Eiji reached out, lifted the ends of her hair, and twirled them in his palm.
"I have a feeling something will happen tonight."
"What a coincidence, I think so too."
Morgan smiled contentedly, as if pleased by their shared intuition.
Morgan could not observe everything happening across all of Britain.
But she could easily create thought-form duplicates of herself. Though these duplicates were not as powerful as her true form, they were still far stronger than high-ranking fairies, capable of rivaling the Fairy Knights.
With such abilities, anything she paid attention to could not escape her notice.
However, of course.
In terms of duplicates, Eiji's dream duplicates were more formidable.
Not only could they share his magical power and possess strength identical to his true form, but the duplicates were so lifelike they could perfectly mimic reality. Even Morgan would be unable to see through them without close contact.
"Tell me about your family."
Standing side by side under the moonlight, Morgan suddenly broached the topic.
She had suddenly taken an interest in learning about what Eiji's family was like.
"What, can't wait to meet the in-laws?"
Eiji raised an eyebrow, teasing her.
"In-laws... I've been here so long, I almost forgot that humans in Proper Human History are viviparous creatures."
Morgan pondered for a moment, a tinge of melancholy rising in her heart.
Her mind retained all the memories of her counterpart in Proper Human History, so she naturally knew the circumstances there and the fate of her other self—the Fairy Queen Morgan.
To her, that was absolutely not a beautiful place.
One could even say it was rather distressing.
"Still, with a queen like me as their daughter-in-law, I doubt your parents would have any complaints."
Morgan smiled naturally.

"You're certainly confident..."
Eiji chuckled.
"But then again, my mother is indeed very open-minded. She wouldn't mind whoever I marry... though perhaps someone with a demonic nature might not be acceptable."
"?"
Morgan slowly formed a question mark in her mind.
It seems your mother isn't exactly ordinary either?
"My little sister is a very cheerful and adorable girl, still in middle school today. She gets along with everyone."
Come to think of it.
Even if an ugly daughter-in-law meets her in-laws, it wouldn't lead to some dramatic conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law.
"What about your father?"
"What father? Does a creature like that even exist?"
"…"
Morgan suddenly fell silent.
Staring at Eiji's sunny smile, she suddenly understood.
"Your family doesn't seem very normal either."
"Well, the world we live in is pretty abnormal to begin with…"
Eiji smiled meaningfully.
Morgan raised an elegant eyebrow.
Right.
Because of the Alien God's invasion, the Human Order of Pan-Human History had long been bleached, leaving nothing behind on Earth.
Yet Eiji had still appeared, and somehow ended up in her world.
This proved that the world he came from was also utterly bizarre.
And the figures behind him were far from simple.
"Sounds interesting. I'd like to visit someday."
"No rush. After everything is over, I'll take you there."
"Fine."
Morgan nodded in agreement.
If she brought her family over now, they might become weaknesses for enemies to exploit, which would be counterproductive.
It would be enough to bring them over to enjoy life after all enemies were dealt with.
No problem.
It would be soon anyway.
Under the night sky, the two waited silently.
Waiting for that extraordinary moment to arrive.
And they waited for nearly half the night.
Until midnight arrived.
"Dong—dong—dong—dong—!"
Melodious bell chimes rang out from somewhere unknown.
The bells seemed to come from beyond the horizon, echoing toward the distant skies.
Space and distance could not hinder their spread. Every fairy in this land of the fairies heard the clear, resonant chimes at that moment, waking in confusion.
Salisbury, Gloucester, Norwich, Londinium, Sheffield, Camelot… The bell chimes gently swept across the land, lingering without end.
"Such a sorrowful bell, as if in repentance."
Eiji closed his eyes, listening carefully to the chimes.
"This is the Pilgrimage Bell."
A cold smile curled at Morgan's lips.
"Quite capable, aren't they? Less than two days after leaving Camelot, and they've already rung the first Pilgrimage Bell. According to the prophecy, it should be Norwich's bell."
Six bells shall make the truth known, the true king's path thus shown.
At this moment.
Artoria had finally embarked on the path of rebellion against the Fairy Queen.
As prophesied, she would overcome all obstacles, ring six bells, and ultimately defeat Morgan to become the prophesied new king.
But Morgan was completely unconcerned.
Her composed expression showed not a trace of worry—if anything, she found it utterly laughable.
After all, the gap in their power was far too vast.
Not only that, but Artoria's resolve was entirely insufficient.
Morgan couldn't even imagine herself being defeated by Artoria.
It would be nothing short of a farcical play.
Eiji was equally unhurried.
Because from the very moment he arrived, the future had already become unpredictable.
As a Demon King, he had transcended fate itself, yet he couldn't help others change their destinies—which was why he had failed in the past.
Yet the future is not fixed. With his intervention, the outcome of this Lostbelt is bound to steer toward a completely different direction!
At the very least, Morgan's fate will certainly not unfold as prophesied—"crowned with a bloodstained diadem"!
"Your Majesty, a wind-borne message has arrived from Norwich!"
"Speak."
"Norwich has fallen to the rebel forces. The Earth Clan Chieftain, Spriggan, took advantage of the chaos to escape and has sent a plea for Your Majesty to dispatch troops to lift the siege of Norwich!"
"Spriggan has a knack for business, which is why I kept him around, but his will to fight is the weakest. This outcome does not surprise me in the least."
Morgan twitched the corner of her mouth indifferently, not even bothering to offer a mocking smile.
"Relay my command: notify the Fang Clan Chieftain, Woodwose, to immediately lead his troops and march on Londinium!"
