Chapter 1064: The Sword That Severs Dimensions

The spiraling twin-headed dragon flickered in and out of existence like mist, its twelve crimson eyes gleaming ominously through the silver-white haze.

"Whoosh!"

No sooner had the twin-headed dragon appeared than it dove downward.

It opened two gaping mouths as deep and dark as black holes, one of them snapping viciously toward Koyanskaya!

Having just narrowly escaped the pincer attack from the Golden Lion and the Bull-headed God, Koyanskaya finally regained her composure.

She could hardly believe it.

This guy actually possessed so many bizarre summoned creatures, each powerful enough to rival divine authority!

Not just one or two, but four!

And each with different abilities, forcing her into a frantic struggle even if she managed to defeat one, as the other three would press the attack relentlessly.

Seeing the twin-headed dragon charging at her as well, Koyanskaya immediately grew wary.

With a wave of her hand, the space around her rippled like water.

In an instant, over a dozen frost giants, each standing seven to eight meters tall, materialized on the battlefield, forming a protective barrier in front of her.

The twin-headed dragon knew nothing of restraint.

It ferociously bit down, shattering the first few frost giants at chest level.

The frost giants couldn't even let out a scream before their bodies wobbled and collapsed.

Their upper halves vanished completely, leaving behind unnervingly smooth cross-sections, while their powerless lower halves gushed torrents of blood.

"Sizzle—!"

The deaths of the frost giants bought Koyanskaya precious time.

She quickly regrouped, her six tails splaying open as dazzling beams of light shot downward from them, slamming into the twin-headed dragon.

The twin-headed dragon roared, both mouths meeting the assault head-on and swallowing two of the laser beams.

However, the remaining beams shot past its heads, piercing straight through its body. Excruciating pain wracked its form, contorting it violently as it howled in agony.

"It swallowed them?"

Koyanskaya stared in disbelief, then flinched in alarm.

"Could it be... those two mouths can devour anything?"

Every attack launched from her tails was no less powerful than a Servant's Noble Phantasm; any single one could instantly obliterate an ordinary Servant.

Yet, when the twin-headed dragon swallowed them, they vanished without a trace, as if erased from the very fabric of reality.

"Pathetic."

Eiji shook his head in disappointment.

The twin-headed dragon's ability was formidable.

In fact, it could be considered one of the most broken abilities among the Fourth True Ancestor's twelve familiars.

Its power was Dimensional Devourer—capable of completely annihilating anything, tangible or intangible, that entered its mouths, along with the space itself!

But its weakness was equally glaring.

Its offensive range was limited to those two mouths. Beyond them, its ability was useless, reducing it to nothing more than an ordinary summoned creature.

In other words, overwhelming it required either an attack of massive scale or a dense barrage of projectiles.

In fact, back then, Eiji had easily defeated it by simply wielding a hundred-meter-long greatsword—over ten times longer than the dragon's mouths—and cleaving its body apart with a single strike.

"Return."

Eiji beckoned, recalling the weakened twin-headed dragon.

Badly wounded, the twin-headed dragon drooped its heads in frustration, its entire body transforming into silvery magical energy that drifted with the wind to Eiji's side, swirling around him.

Immediately after, Eiji raised his hand.

With a resonant hum, a hundred-meter-long golden light sword materialized before him.

The surrounding silvery magical energy instantly adhered to it, dyeing the entire blade with a mercury-like silver sheen.

"Swish!"

A single slash was unleashed!

Koyanskaya instantly felt her vision go dark.

Light, sound, air... everything vanished into nothingness within the spatial void.

All returned to nothing.

Nothing could withstand such a sword.

"Urgh... Aaaaaah——!!"

When Koyanskaya regained her senses, she was utterly horrified.

Excruciating pain contorted her features into a twisted mess, her body curling up uncontrollably as piercing screams echoed in all directions.

Looking up, she saw that five and a half of her tails were nearly completely severed, leaving only bare stumps at their roots.

Without hesitation, she turned and vanished from the wilderness.

In her place appeared a horde of giants, demonic beasts.

And even oddly-shaped tiger-headed tanks!

"Go!"

At Eiji's command.

The two-horned horse, golden lion, and bull-headed god—three familiar beasts—charged into the monster horde like tigers among wolves. In an instant, the cries of giants, roars of demonic beasts, and screeching of tanks filled the surroundings.

"Vanished in an instant... Could that be Independent Manifestation?"

Eiji's gaze remained fixed on the spot where Koyanskaya had disappeared.

He had thought that as a Beast, she would have some backbone and fight him to the end.

Unexpectedly, she executed such a swift escape.

Even he hadn't been able to react in time.

"But this move is truly powerful!"

With a thought, the silver light sword returned before him.

He gazed at it with admiration.

Familiar beasts weren't merely summoned creatures.

Beyond summoning them like the two-horned horse to fight according to his will, he could also extract their magical energy individually to limitedly utilize their powers.

When limiting the use of power, like with the Crimson Horn and Golden Lion, the attacks would inevitably be significantly weakened.

But for a familiar like the Mercury of Dragon and Snake, summoning it actually weakened its capabilities.

Aside from its two formidable mouths, its body was incredibly fragile.

Utterly useless!

However, by borrowing its dimensional devouring power as before and coating his weapon with it, Eiji could unleash a sword strike capable of severing dimensions!

This was indeed the stronger application!

It was his first time using this technique, and he hadn't expected it to be so formidable!

Like his Light-Chasing, it was a trump card capable of deciding the outcome of a battle in its own way.

Moreover, their applications were entirely different.

"Decided. I won't summon the Mercury of Dragon and Snake anymore!"

Eiji resolved immediately.

Since summoning it wasn't particularly useful anyway, it might as well remain within him, serving as his magical furnace core!

That would be far more powerful!

"Checkmate!"

"What's the damage report?"

Eiji landed on the ground, his five pairs of wings retracting into his body.

The familiar beasts quickly cleared the remaining minor monsters, then dissipated into particles of magical energy.

His subordinate approached, looking at him with admiration and answering his question respectfully.

"Only a few yokai sustained minor injuries that can be quickly healed."

"Then let us continue our journey."

"Yes!"

Witnessing Her Highness the Princess effortlessly defeat the shockingly powerful enemy, the soldiers' morale soared even higher.

The group immediately quickened their pace, racing southeast as if chasing the stars and moon.

However.

By the time they arrived, it was already too late.

"Behold my mighty sword strike!"

"Urgh!"

As the blade's gleam faded,

Woodwiss's chest gushed with blood.

He shot a stunned glare at the maiden cloaked in spring-green haori, then bolted toward the city gate, tore through the barrier, and fled in disarray into the distance.
