Chapter 1105: The One I Trust Most

Fully armed knights stormed into the hall, surrounding the throne in a tight formation. Dozens of gleaming blades and spears were all pointed toward the seat of power.

"Actually, I've brought a surprise for Your Majesty."

Spriggan, adhering to his safety-first principle, stood at the very back of all the knights.

With confident laughter, he clapped his hands.

Two knights dragged a limp, ragdoll-like figure into the hall and tossed her carelessly onto the floor. The unconscious form landed with a dull thud.

A foul odor emanated from her body.

Her entire body convulsed, as if trying to stand, but her nerves seemed completely dead. Unable to obey commands, she could only lie there resentfully, glaring furiously at Spriggan.

Morgan's pupils contracted sharply.

Her aura instantly turned terrifyingly oppressive.

A vicious gaze, like that of a man-eating lion, fixed upon Spriggan, causing him to shudder involuntarily.

"Ah, I hope Your Majesty doesn't do anything rash!"

Spriggan hurriedly picked up the corpse-like girl from the floor.

The stench was so pungent that he covered his nose in disgust.

"Otherwise, who knows what might happen to Beryl?"

He drew a blade and pressed it against Beryl's neck.

Morgan's breath froze.

In the blink of an eye, she prepared to cast a spell.

A single incantation would be enough—to eliminate the threat around Beryl at the fastest speed and rescue her!

And a single incantation was but an instant for her!

"Don't even think about it!"

But before she could act.

A stunning crimson lightning exploded before her eyes!

In a blur, the Albion's Descendant appeared before her. Wings like spears pierced through the air, instantly shredding sixty to seventy percent of her magical barrier!

"With a startup time of 0.3 seconds to break the sound barrier, reaching twice or even three times the speed of sound within a second—my speed and neural reflexes far surpass everyone here!"

Melusine stared at her indifferently, her eyes devoid of any emotion.

"Just two strikes, and I can shatter your magical barrier. It would take less than half a second. In that limited time, you cannot protect yourself and save Beryl simultaneously. Give up!"

A spear crackling with crimson lightning was leveled at Morgan.

She finally understood why Melusine had been sent to confront her.

When the Dragon Fairy unleashed her full power, her speed surpassed everyone in the Fairy Kingdom—no one could compare to her in this regard!

Morgan was a mage, not a warrior.

Aside from her fragile physique, her most fatal weakness was that her neural reflexes were far inferior to those of battle-hardened warriors who moved freely across the battlefield!

If she had pre-cast defensive spells, she might have risked her own safety to save Beryl.

But she had no constantly active defensive spells.

Only a pure magical barrier formed by the sheer density of her mana—much like how Arcueid's overwhelmingly dense mana naturally formed a barrier that even Scáthach's Noble Phantasm could not penetrate.

To simultaneously deploy a defensive spell and rescue Baobhan Sith in less than half a second was nearly impossible!

Using the "Garden" hidden beneath the throne wouldn't work either.

Not only was Melusine causing interference, but the Garden's suction force required time to activate—it simply couldn't be done in time!

"Your Majesty, please hand over the throne."

Spriggan, seeing Morgan seemingly at her wit's end, secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ah, and please be sure to sever your connection with the throne. After all, I am a mage—such a trivial matter cannot escape my notice!"

The officials stared intently in their direction.

The scales of victory seemed to be gradually tipping toward the other side?

"Your Majesty?"

Seeing Morgan take no action, Spriggan pressed his blade closer to Baobhan Sith's carotid artery.

"...To think I would one day be restrained by you vermin."

Morgan sighed with a complicated expression.

She had never held these people in high regard, never considered them worthy of her attention. In her eyes, they were as weak as ants.

Yet now, she was suffering retaliation from these very insects.

"Take it."

With a wave of her hand,

the throne beneath her flew straight out and landed amidst the Knights of the Round Table.

Simultaneously, having lost the immense magical protection, the barrier surrounding Morgan naturally dissipated.

"Thank you for your magnanimity, Your Majesty."

Spriggan inspected it briefly and nodded in satisfaction.

Then, with a light wave of his hand,

"Send Her Majesty to the afterlife."

Melusine opened her mouth.

Instinctively, she wanted to intervene, but the words caught in her throat.

Aurora had said

she wanted to see the Queen's head roll.

So, she could not interfere.

"Kill her!"

Sudden cries for bloodshed erupted from the crowd of officials.

"Exactly! To think she exploited our loyalty and trust!"

"That witch who controls calamities has gone too far—she must be executed!"

The other officials, snapping back to reality, joined in with indignant shouts.

At this moment, the Queen's power had crumbled!

Whether driven by personal resentment or past grievances, and considering how to surrender to ensure their survival, they now had to declare their stance.

Rebel against the Queen!

Kill the Queen!

"The rebel army is in the right!"

"Aurora is in the right!"

The officials clamored.

In this moment, a thousand accusing fingers pointed at her.

The Knights of the Round Table stepped forward in unison.

They advanced swiftly, raising their blades and spears to strike the Queen.

"Do you think you've won?"

Suddenly, the Queen spoke.

"Hmm?"

Spriggan furrowed his brow slightly.

He was surprised to find that, even after losing the throne and facing death, the Queen showed no trace of fear.

Her indifferent expression suggested she still held some hidden card.

As if she were waiting for something.

"What does Your Majesty mean by that?"

Spriggan asked cautiously.

"You should have no one else left to trust, correct?"

He was a cautious man, always ensuring every detail was foolproof before taking action.

In this palace coup, he believed he had done his utmost: the Fairy Knights and the Fang Clan had either defected or vanished, the Queen's Consort was entangled with those from Proper Human History, and Morgan herself was restrained by the dragon fairy and a hostage.

By all appearances, it was a perfect setup.

Clang!

Seizing the moment of Melusine's hesitation, Morgan raised her wand as her own magical power swelled, deflecting all incoming blades and spears.

"Then it proves you are nothing but frogs at the bottom of a well!"

Morgan sneered.

"You may have accounted for me thoroughly, but you never accounted for him!"

In that instant.

As if echoing her words.

In that instant, ash-black mist surged like a tidal wave, enveloping the entire royal palace in the blink of an eye!

Beneath her veil, the corners of Morgan's lips curled into a smile.

The one I trust most!

He would never let me down!
