Chapter 1163 - Chapter 1163

Chapter 1163: Why Do Such Oddballs Exist in This World?

"I already gave you money, didn't I?"

Sayaka pressed her hand against her forehead.

And it was a full 100,000 yen at that!

She didn't think it was too expensive, though.

A normal person hit by that attack would have been instantly hospitalized, and the medical bills would likely have exceeded that amount.

Even though this guy was completely fine, out of a sense of responsibility, she still felt the money was well spent.

"A mere 100,000 yen is nothing! How could that possibly make up for the psychological damage you caused me!"

Eiji rebuked her righteously.

"Then give the money back!"

A vein bulged on Sayaka's forehead.

"That was what you ought to do! I accepted it out of consideration for your feelings—how dare you ask for it back?"

Eiji looked at her with contempt.

What should she do?

Sayaka felt she was about ready to throw a punch!

I know I was in the wrong, but I've already compensated you and apologized. Why are you still nitpicking? Aren't you being too aggressive?

"What? Are you going to hit me?"

Noticing her gradually losing control, Eiji suddenly covered his chest in panic.

"Let me tell you, Itogami Island is a place governed by law. If you dare act recklessly, I'll call the police immediately and expose what you did during the day!"

Sayaka fell silent.

She clenched her teeth tightly, barely managing to lower her raised fist.

Calm down. You can't alert the security forces over something so trivial. What about the mission?

This is an extremely important mission concerning the survival of Itogami Island—even Japan—and it might even affect the international situation. You can't let it all go to waste at this stage!

"Fine, do whatever you want."

Sayaka sighed weakly.

She had already been entangled with this person for over two hours!

She had hoped to quickly put this matter behind her and proceed with her mission, but even now, she hadn't succeeded. She was still trapped by this annoying guy with no escape.

Why do such oddballs exist in this world?

And why did I have the misfortune of running into one?

Sayaka could only try her best to ignore him.

At the same time, she grumbled inwardly.

Why isn't there a curse technique for memory erasure?

If there were, she'd cast one spell, and the world would fall silent!

"Maybe I should consider physical memory loss?"

Sayaka had to admit, she was tempted.

Minor side effects like a concussion were no longer enough to stop her from wanting to escape this utterly annoying guy—or from wanting to punch him senseless!

"Why do I sense killing intent?"

Eiji suddenly jolted upright, anxiously scanning his surroundings.

This guy has such sharp perception!

Sayaka's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly dismissed the thought.

Forget it.

I'll just go along with him for now.

I'll find an opportunity later to shake him off.

She had already notified her master. Once the procedures were completed, she believed the Itogami Island Council would accommodate her. By then, no matter how much he threatened her, it would be useless!

...

Before nightfall, Kousaka Sayaka wandered around the southern island.

Her expression shifted from initial seriousness to furrowed brows, and by now, it had become thoroughly impatient.

"It's so hard to find!"

Clutching her clearly outdated flip phone, her pretty features scrunched up in frustration.

Her mood was already poor, and after searching for so long without finding her destination, her frustration was steadily reaching a boiling point!

"What are you looking for?"

At that moment, Eiji approached.

This guy had been following her since earlier, showing no intention of leaving.

According to him, since he couldn't think of a way to make her compensate him yet, he'd stick around to ensure she didn't run off and deny everything later.

How infuriating!

Do I, Kousaka Sayaka, look like someone with no credibility?!

His sudden initiative to approach, seemingly offering help, took her by surprise.

Could this guy actually have moments like this?

Sayaka had already selectively forgotten the reason they'd met in the first place.

"Do you know where the Adillard Abbey is?"

She'd asked several girls along the roadside earlier, but none knew where this so-called abbey was located.

She didn't have much confidence in Eiji either, but figured she might as well ask.

If only she'd asked her master for clear directions to the abbey before leaving.

"I know!"

But Eiji responded with sudden realization.

"That abbey is on the hill behind our school. It's so remote that very few people know about it."

An unexpected stroke of luck?

Sayaka's eyes immediately lit up.

"I never thought someone like you could have such a minor use!"

"Hahaha, you don't even have that minor use yourself!"

Sayaka choked, her face darkening.

She'd intended to mock him, but he'd returned the insult with interest!

And she, who couldn't find the abbey, had no comeback!

So mad!

No!

I mustn't talk to this jerk!

Otherwise, I'll definitely die from anger!

Sayaka suddenly achieved enlightenment.

She sealed her lips shut, using only her eyes to signal Eiji to lead the way.

Eiji smiled and walked ahead.

Over half an hour later.

As darkness completely fell and stars twinkled in the night sky, the two finally reached the back hill of Saikai Academy. Walking along a quiet path, they at last found Adillard Abbey.

"Finally found it!"

Seeing the modest-sized abbey, Sayaka breathed a sigh of relief.

"Wait here for me."

She said sternly to Eiji.

"I have very confidential matters to discuss with the abbot here. No one can overhear!"

"You're not planning to escape through the back door, are you?"

Eiji adopted a suspicious expression.

"I would never do such a thing! I swear on my honor!"

Sayaka proudly lifted her fair neck like a white swan.

"That's good then."

Eiji indicated he'd temporarily believe her and remained stationary at the entrance.

Sayaka sighed in relief.

Though troublesome, this guy at least understood human language.

If he'd tried to follow her into the abbey, she would have seriously considered administering her physical memory-erasure technique!

Sayaka entered the abbey.

"What adorable cats!"

She was instantly captivated by the cats lounging around the front yard, her clear eyes immediately conquered by these fluffy creatures.

"No, no, I'm not here to look at cats! I'm here on important business!"

She quickly shook her head, composing her expression seriously as she approached the main door.

"Is anyone here?"

Though located deep in the hills, the front yard lights were on, suggesting someone must be present.

"Guests at this hour?"

As expected, shortly after she spoke, a figure emerged from the backyard.

"Who are you, and what business brings you to me?"

It was a golden-haired beauty who appeared no older than seventeen or eighteen—about the same age as her—yet spoke with an archaic elegance. Her features carried an exotic charm.

"Is the director in?"

"I am she."

"My apologies. Someone asked me to deliver this."

Kōsaka Sayaka handed over the violin case she was carrying.
