Chapter 1196 - Chapter 1196

Chapter 1196: The Snake Man's Goal

Before long, the two girls and the female knight with a disgruntled expression were taken away.

After all, they were just a few girls. Without their cursed tools, they posed no threat. No matter how strong their physical techniques were, they were no match for the Beast Kin. Moreover, with the Faux Angels as their trump card, both Beatrice and the Beast Kin named Kiriya felt quite at ease.

Several Faux Angels were forcibly put into hibernation via the controller and placed back into new containers.

"Let's go too. The surveillance will be restored soon!"

Kiriya checked his watch and urged Beatrice nervously.

"What's there to be nervous about? There are still three minutes left until the time agreed with 'Tank Driver,' right?"

Beatrice, however, was completely unfazed and even looked down on the timid Kiriya.

Tank Driver was a renowned expert in the digital world.

According to him, aside from the Digital Empress, he was unbeatable against anyone.

They had specifically made a deal with Tank Driver to disable the surrounding surveillance for ten minutes.

Clap clap clap!

But just then, a series of loud claps suddenly rang out.

"The two of you are quite well-prepared. Your professionalism as mercenaries truly impresses me!"

Hearing the undisguised praise, Beatrice's expression changed drastically, and alarm bells rang in her heart.

"Who's there?!"

She hadn't detected this person's presence at all?

"No need to be afraid. I bear no hostility towards you."

As these words were spoken, the mist in the air gradually coalesced.

It formed into a handsome man with blond hair and blue eyes.

"You are... Dimitri Vatler!"

The moment she recognized him, Beatrice's eyes widened in shock.

She quickly snatched the Faux Angel remote and gripped it tightly in her hand.

"Did you not understand me? I said I bear no hostility towards you."

Vatler kept his hands in his pockets, his expression utterly relaxed.

"Moreover, even if you bring out those shoddy angels, you can't win against me. I hope you understand that."

Beatrice's face darkened.

Her own abilities were mediocre; she wasn't even an Old Generation vampire, let alone a True Ancestor. Even Vatler could defeat her instantly. The Faux Angels were her greatest reliance.

Hearing him belittle them so openly put Beatrice in a very foul mood.

Because she didn't know if Vatler's words were true or false, the Faux Angels couldn't even give her confidence.

But at least Vatler hadn't attacked immediately. Judging by his demeanor, he clearly didn't see them as a threat at all.

This both infuriated Beatrice and gave her a slight sense of relief.

"Might I ask why the Duke of Ardeal has come here?"

Suppressing her unease for now, she tentatively inquired.

"Nothing so grand. I just wanted to see for myself how strong these so-called Faux Angels, which even the Fourth True Ancestor fears, really are. Having seen them, I'm rather disappointed."

Vatler shook his head as if helpless.

Could something like this really make the Fourth True Ancestor wary?

His words were filled with utter contempt for the Faux Angels.

"A real angel certainly won't disappoint you, Duke!"

Beatrice clicked her tongue subtly but then declared with conviction.

"That is truly something to look forward to!"

Vatler immediately clapped his hands and laughed.

"However, given the mess you've created now, are you certain you can last until the true angel is born?"

Beatrice's expression darkened.

Indeed, this was a major problem.

Originally, her goal was simply to kidnap La Folia.

Unexpectedly, along the way, another person appeared by her side—Fizaki Kiriya!

La Folia was a princess of a nation, but her base of operations wasn't on this Demon Sanctuary Island. Even if her disappearance became an international issue, they could buy some time. As long as they delayed until the true angel was born, they could sweep everything aside!

But Fizaki Kiriya was a government agent.

Her disappearance would undoubtedly attract more attention from the mainland government, and the intensity of the search would be entirely different.

Yet at this point, it was difficult to simply release her, or their plans would be exposed.

"More importantly, if the Fourth True Ancestor truly fears the artificial angels as you claim, wouldn't he personally reappear to destroy Magecraft Engineers Inc. upon learning of your goal to recreate angels?"

Vatler grinned, revealing a row of snow-white fangs.

"I'm extremely interested in this!"

So that's how it is.

Upon hearing this, Beatrice actually felt relieved.

She had figured out Vatler's motive.

Vampires, with their endless lifespans, had long found life devoid of pleasure.

Thus, the older the vampire, the more obsessed they became with seeking amusement!

Vatler was an Old Guard vampire, so he must be extremely fond of finding entertainment!

He had surely come all the way from the Warlord's Empire because the Fourth True Ancestor had appeared on Demon Sanctuary Island—his target was undoubtedly the Fourth True Ancestor, currently the biggest source of amusement internationally!

"You want to use us as bait to lure out the Fourth True Ancestor?"

Beatrice was almost completely certain.

"Not entirely foolish."

Vatler nodded approvingly.

"However, given your current capabilities, you're hardly impressive. I doubt you could even force out some of Demon Sanctuary Island's secrets, let alone lure out the Fourth True Ancestor."

Beatrice clicked her tongue again.

Such blatant mockery was truly infuriating.

But she controlled her emotions and asked with a cheerful smile,

"Then, does Your Grace have any good suggestions?"

"Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered showing up."

Vatler smiled delightedly.

"I happen to have a few acquaintances planning to stir up some trouble on Demon Sanctuary Island. Why don't you cooperate with them?"

"Who takes the lead?"

Beatrice asked immediately.

"That's your affair, none of my concern."

Vatler was completely indifferent.

I only need you to cause as much chaos as possible, nothing more.

As for how you do it or what you do, that's for you to figure out.

"...I understand."

After weighing the pros and cons, Beatrice ultimately chose to yield.

"I agree to cooperate."

If she refused, this monster rumored to be the closest to the True Ancestors might bare his fangs right then and there!

"A wise decision."

"Who are the cooperation partners? At least tell me that much?"

"Fair enough, there's no harm in telling you such a minor detail."

Vatler found this reasonable—if they couldn't even manage basic cooperation, then there would be no amusement for him.

"They are the Black Death Emperor Faction, terrorists within the Warring States Domain who advocate for beastman supremacy. I've already eliminated their leader, but one of their cadres is currently in my custody. They are now focusing all efforts on unraveling the secrets of the super-ancient weapon Nalakvera, created by the gods, and they've already obtained leads. They will take action soon."

With these final words, Vatler's body dissolved into mist and vanished.

"May everyone achieve their desired outcomes."
