Chapter 250 - 250 - Warped Perceptions

"I am Yvraine, Emissary of Ynnead." Yvraine rested both hands on the armrests of her crystalline throne. Her eyes, lightly shadowed with runes, gazed sternly down at the figure of Kei. With pale, almost translucent skin, long flowing silver hair, a proud gaze that looked down on everything, and an aura that tolerated no blasphemy or offense, her every movement seemed to exude the divine authority of the chosen emissary of the Eldar god of death.

"Oh, nice to meet you." Kei examined Yvraine for a few seconds, and when his eyes landed on her greaves, he couldn't help but curl his lips in slight disdain.

This woman, her face and figure were truly stunning, but her aura, more divine than human, was seriously off-putting. And those greaves, which looked like red wraithbone underarmor.

Too ugly!

"Is that a look of... disgust on your face?"

Yvraine noticed Kei's lip curl and couldn't help but show a hint of surprise. In her thousands of years of life, she had seen countless gazes from the opposite sex, covetous, greedy, desirous, fearful, panicked... But someone showing disgust toward an Eldar?

"You just say it out loud like that? Not embarrassed at all?"

"Not really. I'm just curious. Eldar genes are said to be the most perfect genetic sequence in the known universe, flawless appearance, impeccable physiological functions, noble moral standards. They should align with better aesthetics. Could it be that warp energy affects a being's perception of beauty?"

"That has nothing to do with the Immaterium."

"Then why?"

"Tch~ In my eyes, when divinity surpasses humanity, no matter how beautiful something is, it's as dull as a math equation. Oh, and your wraithbone underarmor, too ugly."

Although due to being only a psychic projection, Kei couldn't see Yvraine's full stat sheet. But based on the original plot, she was clearly someone who pursued absolute perfection.

Dealing with someone like that, beating around the bush would only lead to countless more questions. And besides, he wasn't afraid of offending her.

"It affected your ability to admire my greaves?" Yvraine looked down at her red, gold-trimmed wraithbone greaves.

The Black Library's analysis had already led her to conclude that her greaves were most likely affecting this so-called Dimensional Demon God. As for the divinity versus humanity issue...

Thinking of the contradictions between Eldar justice and order, emotions and rules, Yvraine furrowed her brows slightly.

"So it did affect you. Would you be willing to take it off?"

"No."

As more and more analysis poured in from the Black Library, a look of intrigued amusement slowly spread across her face.

Propping her cheek with one hand, she began teasing Kei.

Although Jain Zar's psychic energy couldn't scan or analyze the nature of this man's existence, the intense warp energy fluctuations when he appeared, and again when he looked toward Terra, were all solid proof, this man had control over warp energy.

And his earlier theories… They seemed to overturn many of their previous assumptions about the Great Enemy.

Dimensional Demon God, huh? Was he transcending dimensions?

Or... Controlling them?

In her thousands of years of life, it had been a long time since she'd met someone who piqued her interest like this.

Yvraine's lips curled slightly as she tapped the armrest of her throne with her index finger.

"You're quite an interesting god, embracing freedom, yet not indulging in desire. Lelith really should learn a thing or two from you."

"Please no, I don't like her makeup."

"She'd definitely curse you out for that. After all, she always believed her look is the most beautiful outfit in the known universe."

"You sure she's not trying to seduce me when she sees me?"

"Very likely. So, can you resist that kind of temptation?"

"Honestly, if it were Farseer Taldeer instead, the chances of success might be higher. But I am taken and loyal." Kei knew Yvraine was still probing him, and in return, his response was also a test.

His purpose for this visit was the [Webway Technology] trait.

If possible, he'd rather save himself a data copy opportunity and just directly acquire the technology the Eldar had or better yet, let them research it further and develop the Infinity Circuit for him ahead of schedule.

But Yvraine's attitude was somewhat odd. There was no way she couldn't pick up on the hints in his words. And yet, she herself brought up Lelith.

Wasn't she worried he might actually get involved with Lelith and shake the very foundations of Eldar justice and order?

"Taldeer, did you hear that? This Dimensional Demon God has his eye on you." Yvraine's tone held a rare trace of teasing.

Then, Taldeer's figure appeared in front of Kei, projected through Jain Zar's psychic energy.

A wraithbone robe adorned with complex, glowing runes hugged her slender figure. Deep red hair framed an elegant face, her eyes shimmering with psychic power that belied the wisdom of countless years of farsight and divination.

Even though seeing Jain Zar had already pushed Kei's perception of Eldar beauty to new heights, actually seeing Farseer Taldeer in person still managed to broaden his view, still not his type. But being polite was his strength!

"You're even more striking than I imagined."

"Thank you for the compliment. You're quite an impressive entity yourself." Taldeer's lips curled into a faint smile, and she gave Yvraine a subtle little look.

The meaning was obvious: He thinks I'm more impressive than you~

"To each their own," Yvraine chuckled softly.

She didn't mind Taldeer's behavior at all. This was one of her most trusted advisors from the days before her transformation, and they had weathered much together. After thousands of years, there was nothing about the Farseer's personality she didn't know.

"...Can we talk business now?" Kei cut into the endless back-and-forth of probing. He had brought up Taldeer on purpose, and Yvraine had responded by letting her appear, meaning she was open to collaboration.

Any more beating around the bush would be meaningless.

"Mind telling us exactly what you're interested in from the Eldar?" Yvraine's expression turned serious again. Beside her, Taldeer also retracted her relaxed demeanor. For Eldar, thought and faith define existence.

And while this Dimensional Demon God came from the Immaterium, his words and actions clearly showed he was a complete lifeform acknowledged by their system of justice and order. More importantly, his beliefs stood in opposition to the Great Enemy, and he had chosen to reach out for alliance with the Eldar.

If possible, they had no desire to lose a powerful ally who might bring transformative change to Eldar civilization.

"Webway Technology, genetic modification tech, third and fourth-generation wraithbone body tech, warp research data, stellar-scale computing breakthroughs, spirit stone findings, soulrending weapon development..." Kei quickly ran through the list of all the goodies the Eldar had in his mind.

"...How about we go rob the Drukhari first?"
