Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Battle Royale(3)

Zeke was the first to land a blow. He outsped Grayson before landing a fist to his ribs. The lightning chipped away at the essence armour he had on, while his body was blown quite far.

After rolling on the ground for a few seconds, he raised his head to see a foot stomping in it's direction. Grayson successfully rolled his head out the way and stood back on his two feet. The weight of that attack had cracked the surface of the ground.

Zeke turned his head at Grayson who by this point was throwing a kick in his direction. He sidestepped out of its way and grabbed it.

With Grayson's leg in his hands, he spun around and chucked him into the wall. He hit it face first and was left laying flat on the ground.

He sensed blood trickling down Grayson's nose and assumed he was down. He chose however to wait until his body sank into the ground.

The following moment however, he saw Grayson stand up slowly to his feet. He wiped the blood off him and kept his eyes on Zeke.

"I'm going to kill you. Don't worry though.. it won't be painless."

Charging at Zeke, he faked a left which Zeke put his hand to guard against only for him to get hit by a right swing to his jaw.

Zeke stumbled backwards for a bit before stopping. Grayson immediately followed up with a knee to his gut, and an elbow to the side of the head.

Zeke failed to block both strikes and was left on one knee gasping for air. He's mouth had a little blood dripping on its corners.

"I was wondering how you could see with that rag around your eyes?. I didn't get it at first but now... I do. You've been using essence to see everything for you since you arrived, am I right?."

Keeping his eyes on his struggling opponent, he continued.

"To pull this off, you would need months, if not years of practice connecting your soul to the essence it's releasing. The commitment to learn such an ability is astounding and it would be an inconvenience to do all this if you could see. So I suppose you don't see at all then?."

"Well, I want you to know that l don't mind hurting the disabled. You brought this upon yourself... So don't blame me for this outcome after all, you had the guts to go after my woman."

Zeke was tolerantly listening to his pointless words until that last part hit a nerve. He had spent six years trying to get back to his family only to find this guy claiming his sister belonged to him because he developed feelings.

"I am sick of your obsession with my little sister and I've had about ENOUGH!!."

"Wait..siste-."

Before he could finish that sentence however, Zeke gripped his throat with his left hand, and lifted him into the air with a crazy look in his eyes.

He had taken the time Grayson was talking to remove the blindfold. He knew the danger of using his eyes in the scenario but this guy was annoying .

He finally saw the pathetic vermin. He had brown hair, brown eyes and wore a sleeveless shirt with baggy trousers.

Grayson watched as Zeke closed his hand into a fist and began pummeling his stomach with repeated blows. Despite his essence armour, it was still extremely painful.

The process went on for a while until he fell unconscious and was thrown to the side. Anyone near them felt a bit scared after the gruesome display and didn't want to be next.

As Grayson sunk into the ground, the coalition had long lost their fight. Looking at the coalition's direction, he saw the girl who had beaten them for the first time.

She had blonde tied back hair, and light blue eyes. Her skin was as white as a cloud. She was around his height but just a bit shorter, most likely around 5.6.

She felt someone watching her and returned his gaze with her own. The two just kept looking at each other for a while unconcerned with their surroundings.

It wasn't until a remaining member of the coalition came to attack her, did she break eye contact. Zeke wore the cloth around his eyes once more and began moving back to Nebula.

She had engaged with a group of four who had separated her from Zeke. She had mostly beaten all of them and was now looking for Zeke.

They found each other at the bench they were originally sitting on, and decided to sit down there once more. She noticed the blood around his lips and immediately questioned him.

"Oh my goodness, what happened to you!?."

"Nothing to worry about."

"Your bleeding. Of course I'm going to be worried."

Zeke wiped the blood off with the sleeves of his shirt and answered.

"Well if you must know, I fought Grayson and beat him up for you, no need to tell me I'm great though.. I know."

Rolling her eyes, she responded.

"I didn't need you to do all that for me, you know?."

"I've been gone for so long, it's the very least I should do."

Standing up, Zeke pulled her from her seat while saying.

"That's enough mushy talk. Let's go beat some innocent people."

She merely nodded and the two rushed back into the action to become everyone's problem.

...

Somewhere in the lounge of the centre building was the principal drinking a cup of coffee. He's clothes perfectly going along with his pitch black eyes and nonchalant demeanor.

"Sir, this is quite unsafe. My mud castle won't stop people from actually dying you know."

A middle aged man was standing behind the principal with an evident look of worry on his face. His brown hair complemented his brown eyes and slightly rinkled face. He wore a blue sweater and grey trousers.

"True, but the future won't spare them from potential death so why should I?"

He wanted to argue but the principal motioned with his hand he stay quiet for a moment. On the screen was a black haired boy holding a brown haired teen by the throat. later he was repeatedly slamming his fist into the teen's abdomen.

The principal had a contemplative look on his face as he tried to remember who that just was.

"Cole, who is this guy."

"His name is Zeke Everheart."

It took a moment but after hearing that last name, he's expression drastically changed.
