Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: You’re Not Allowed to Bite Anyone But Me

Camellia wanted nothing more than to kick Andrew The Detective back to Class 11B right that second. He kept blabbering non-stop in her ear while all she wanted was to quietly enjoy 11D's video clip by herself.

"Exactly! That's it! Your class's clip tells the story of a human boy who accidentally falls in love with a cruel female Vampire. He agrees to live in her household out of love. But in the end, his kindness and patience are trampled on. He endures everything, even as his in-laws treat him like trash. The climax? The Vampire wife kills him by biting his neck after he discovers she's cheating."

Camellia raised an eyebrow and smirked slightly.

How the hell did a weak Vampire Hunter like her end up portrayed in the clip as a heartless villain?

Meanwhile, the rude Vampire who'd been bullying her just earlier somehow got turned into a kind, submissive human boy who was betrayed and murdered.

Just goes to show the terrifying power of directors and screenwriters. With the right editing and a sprinkle of effects, they could flip the narrative however they wanted - turning villains into victims, and vice versa.

"I was really intrigued by that 'To be continued…' at the end. Your class sure knows how to hook an audience. I'm guessing the next part will be the guy reincarnating and vowing to get revenge on his entire Vampire in-law family. Mua ha ha ha!"

He let out a maniacal laugh. It seemed like he deeply resonated with the main character and was itching for some payback. So petty!

But thanks to his reaction, Camellia suddenly understood Ethan's intention when he instructed Cherry and Amy to edit the video that way.

After watching Class 12C's clip, Ethan must've realized how hard it would be to win the female vote using the same kind of romantic narrative.

So instead, he shifted strategy - targeting the male vote with a storyline built around:

Nice guy → Moves in with wife's family → Gets mistreated → Killed → Reincarnated → Revenge.

Hmph, that Bloodbound boy… So he did understand human psychology pretty well.

Or maybe…

Could the plot of Class 11D's video be a subtle reflection of Ethan's own fears?

After all, Autumn still hadn't even explained to him what Bloodbound meant. And here he was, living in her house day after day, probably under a lot of pressure with no one to confide in.

Sometimes, people deceive themselves with positive thoughts. But eventually, all their fears and negativity are unconsciously expressed through their creative work.

Maybe tomorrow at noon, Camellia would invite Ethan to her Library to do a Tarot reading for him. Tarot might not predict the future with precision, but through the cards, Camellia could gain deeper insight into the inner world of that introverted boy.

"Hey! So you are a Vampire, right? Just how many years have you been sixteen?"

Andrew The Detective stared intently into Camellia's gray eyes and suddenly asked a question that nearly made her faint.

"W-What makes you think I'm a Vampire?"

Camellia was visibly annoyed at being interrupted in the middle of her thoughts. She tried to keep calm and asked back.

"According to the info I've gathered, you - Camellia Nguyen, Class 11D - are on a homeschooling track because you can't go outside during the daytime. Plus, your appearance is way too out of the ordinary. And one more thing: that clip from Class 11D exposed everything. You guys weren't acting - right? There's no way Royce would sit frozen like that without a reason. You must've injected something into him, didn't you?"

Andrew glanced at Royce. The expression on the Vampire's face made Andrew instinctively pull his hand back and give up on the idea of checking out that six-pack.

"What kind of deduction is that? What kind of Vampire would expose herself like that?"

"Ever heard the saying: 'The most dangerous place is the safest place'? I bet you publicly spread rumors that you're a Vampire so no one would suspect you're actually a Vampire. Right, Camellia - the white-haired Vampire girl?"

"…"

Camellia was stunned.

Normally, she loved a good debate. But dealing with Andrew The Detective drained her of any enthusiasm - his logic zigzagged like a crab walking sideways.

"Heh heh! So you are a Vampire. That's fine though, I'll keep your secret, my Princess!"

"Excuse me? Who's your 'Princess'?"

"Right here! I drew your name for Week 2 of the 'Take Care of the Girls' Event for Vietnamese Women's Day on October 20."

As he spoke, Andrew pulled out a slip of paper that read:

Princess: Camellia Nguyen - Class 11D

Caregiving Week: Week 2, October 6 -10, 2025

Camellia snorted in disbelief.

She had thought that being in the homeschooling program would exempt her from having to participate in ridiculous Harmony school events like this one. Who in the world at the 20/10 Event Committee thought it was a good idea to put her name in there?!

"Our two classes must really be destined for each other. Last week, my Princess was Autumn Nguyen. But I heard she had to be hospitalized with dengue fever. Weird, huh? Did your class set up camp next to a mosquito nest or something? Both Royce and Autumn were hospitalized at the same time. Or maybe… there wasn't any dengue fever at all! You're the one who sucked their blood, aren't you?"

"Yeah! That's exactly what I did."

Camellia replied flatly, with no emotion.

This amateur detective boy had a deduction style that made zero logical sense. He even got the identity of the Vampire wrong… and yet somehow managed to stumble upon a few things that were actually true.

Which was all the more reason for her to stop talking. No need to give Andrew The Detective more fuel for his wild theories - especially when he held the title of President of the Journalism Club.

Camellia turned her face back toward the stage, clearly signaling she wanted to end the conversation. But Andrew wasn't going to let his "Princess" off that easily.

"I bet after today, you'll return to your crypt and go back to remote learning. And I'll be stuck alone again this week while everyone else gets pampered in the cafeteria. It's all your fault, Camellia!"

Andrew pointed dramatically at her, mimicking the dramatic final accusation pose of boy detectives in manga when they reveal the criminal.

"But don't worry, my Vampire Princess. I'll allow you to make it up to me. In fact, I'll even give your class one vote if you bite me like you bit Royce in that video."

"You… Are you insane? I don't want your blood or your pity vote!"

"Oh, but you do want it. You crave my blood. Come on! Don't be shy!"

Andrew exposed his neck, inviting her in a ridiculous display. If she were a real Vampire, Camellia would've bitten him on the spot - fatally - just to get rid of him. This guy was too damn annoying!

The schoolyard of Harmony was noisy and bustling at that moment, so no one was paying attention to the scene between Camellia and Andrew - except for one very still Vampire decorated in fruit.

Then, a thought flashed through Camellia's mind.

Maybe she should just go along with it and get it over with.

Maybe if she bit Andrew with her fake plastic Vampire fangs, he'd feel satisfied and finally leave her alone?

Alright then.

Decision made.

Camellia took a step toward Andrew and his offered neck, ready to end this nonsense - when suddenly, she felt a chill crawl down her spine.

She could no longer move.

A large hand had grabbed the back of her neck from behind.

"YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BITE ANYONE EXCEPT ME!"

The Vampire snarled, forcing each word out like a feral beast.

Camellia couldn't see Royce's face - but judging from the way Andrew The Detective stumbled back and nearly fell trying to flee…

…she figured that expression must've been terrifying.
