"With a commotion this huge, we couldn't stay away even if we wanted to," Whis said, staring up at the endless black void above. His expression was unusually grave; even he changed color at the aura spilling out of it. Though Goku had killed both of them before, beings of their stature could be revived with relative ease.
"Goku! I've trained hard for the last thirty years! I'm itching to test myself against you… but unless we first deal with that problem up there, neither of us can focus on a proper fight."
Beerus was aflame with battle lust, eyes locked on Goku as if he'd like to duel for a hundred rounds on the spot. Yet the creature within the void made him wary.
"What a terrifying aura… Beyond the Sovereign, I didn't imagine such a thing could exist in this world," Whis said. He glanced at Beerus and Goku. "It seems the three of us must join forces. If this being breaks free, the universe will truly be finished."
"Whis! Are you kidding me? Team up with this bastard? Not happening!"
Beerus barked. Displeasure was written all over his face. "I intend to kill him! Why would I work with him? Strong or not, as long as it hasn't broken the seal, I can handle this alone!"
He shot into the sky. Scarlet light flared around him; divine pressure rolled outward as he launched a massive ki blast straight into the bottomless void.
"Lord Beerus—recklessness will cost us!" Whis tried to stop him, but it was already too late.
With a thunderous boom, a colossal radiance speared the void—vast, sacred, engulfing the void. It was the devastating strike of a god.
Yet when it plunged into the endless blackness, it vanished without a ripple.
A delighted laugh echoed from within. "Hahaha—such pure energy! More! Give me more! Don't be stingy! Hahaha!"
"Why, you—underestimating me? Now I'm mad! Aaaaah!"
Hot-tempered as ever, Beerus erupted. Destruction energy gathered rapidly in his hands.
"You idiot—stop!"
Just as the beam was about to form, Goku flashed over and smacked Beerus on the head without ceremony.
"Yaaah! I'm furious! Damn you, Goku—you hit me! Fine! Fight me right now!"
Beerus roared, eyes turning vicious as a terrifying aura shook the cosmos.
"Beerus, enough! This isn't the time," Whis cut in, eyes fixed on the void, face taut. "Goku's right. You must not attack. It's absorbing your power to break the seal."
"I-is that so?"
Beerus froze, then glared daggers at Goku. "Hmph! I'll deal with you later—and let you taste death again!" Plainly, being killed by Goku still festered in his pride. A Destroyer God felled by a mortal—unforgivable for someone so proud.
"Whis, do you know what that thing is? This strong even while sealed?"
Beerus, unusually serious, looked at the boundless blackness.
"Best ask Lord Goku. It emerged from him," Whis replied, turning to Goku for an explanation.
"Why look at me? I've no idea. And I'm seriously annoyed right now," Goku said flatly.
"Then talking is useless. We must reseal it at once. If it gets out, we're finished," Whis said, voice firm.
"That's our only option."
Goku nodded, leapt to a position near the edge of the void, and began to form hand seals. Strange sigils streamed from his fingers, circling the breach. The tearing force around the rim twisted the runes savagely, but they finally locked into a six-pointed array that wrapped the black hole.
"Let's do our part," Whis told Beerus. He rose into the air; with a tap of his staff, eerie ripples billowed outward, stacking layer upon layer of sealing fields around the abyss.
Beerus didn't sit idle. His aura surged, and a vast crimson, translucent dome enfolded the entire void.
"Damn it! I've finally gathered enough energy to break free—and you want to seal me again? Dream on!"
A roar shook the void from within the darkness. The echo pounded the eardrums.
A domineering, horrific pressure exploded outward. Black miasma shot skyward, and an oppressive weight smothered the cosmos. Panic rippled through every corner of the universe.
A jet-black spear of energy stabbed out. It punched through their layers of seals like paper, hurtling straight for Beerus. He raised a hand to block, but the impact hurled him back. The crimson barrier dimmed, dents spiderwebbing across it before it rebounded, shuddering.
The arrogant, disdainful laughter rolled again. Being slighted sent Beerus' fury through the roof.
He smashed a punch forward.
With a crack, the local space crazed and split, a vast rift ripping open across the sky. The fracture spread, spanning the entire void.
A world-ending space-time storm poured out.
Goku and Whis blanched and both shot Beerus a murderous look. Goku swore, "You brainless fool! You'll help it break the seal!"
Beerus' face went pitch-black, breath rising to retort—but the storm had already slammed into the black void.
"Damn it—get out of here!"
Stars shattered. The firmament seemed to halt. Light itself dimmed across the void.
---
Void shook. The universe trembled.
Mist boiled with primal chaos as the two forces collided, unleashing an extinction-level cataclysm no one could stop.
Space peeled away in layers. The storm of time and space raged across the skies, a roaring that could be heard throughout the cosmos. Demonic aura speared upward. Worlds billions of kilometers away disintegrated into dust.
Yet the endless black hole remained intact before the storm—quivering with exultant howls from within. The double onslaught—from the outside storm and the creature within—hammered the seals. The divine runes etched around the void dimmed, the binding power thinning.
The whole universe quaked. All living things felt the end drawing near. Within the abyss, a towering demonic silhouette pressed against reality, its roar rattling souls. The storm scoured the stars; distant planets winked out like candles.
From the darkness, a pair of eyes opened—black light that made the heart falter, looking down on creation. Waves of evil poured out like ten thousand demons shrieking. Layers of darkness cracked, and a colossal body—ten thousand meters tall—emerged.
Muscles knotted under a mantle of swirling black mist. Chains of divine order pierced his body, crisscrossing and anchoring him to the void, runes glowing along their links, sealing power strong enough to bury a universe.
"Roar—cursed Seal-Chains! You cannot hold me! Hahaha! Today the Primal Extinction awakens—my day of freedom!"
The wicked bellow shook the universe. The sky thundered; living beings reeled, ears ringing and sight dimming.
Demonic qi surged. Blasts from his titanic form hammered the walls of the void. The abyss boomed, quaking the void. The runes around the breach grew dimmer and dimmer.
With the outside storm adding to the strain, the seals uttered a clear, brittle crack—and shattered in layers. Freed from its fetter, the void swelled like a vast maw, its suction howling as if to swallow the cosmos. Energy rioted, pouring toward it like a river reversed. The giant shadow howled in ecstasy, opened his maw, and gulped it all down without end. His aura skyrocketed.
Crack. Crack.
The balance snapped. The divine chains webbing his body fissured under the escalating power.
One after another, they split and broke.
"Hahaha! I am free!"
With a thunderous laugh, the giant lifted his right arm—bearing the might to prop the sky and end worlds. Chains snapped like twigs. He flexed once, and the bindings across his body fell away. Stripped of power, they were shredded to nothing by the raging storm.
A colossal foot stepped from the void, and the entire firmament shook. Demonic haze rolled out, smothering the universe. Light fled; terror spread.
A vast, black-veined hand pried the breach wide. Wreathed in shadow, the gargantuan body took a single step and stood between void.
The space-time tempest slammed into him and rang like metal on metal, failing to harm him in the slightest.
"Heh. Such a powerful temporal storm… this is a remarkable universe indeed. But only that—remarkable."
His voice drifted coldly through the void. The giant extended his sky-piercing right hand, grabbed the tornado of space-time, and squeezed. With a crisp snap, he crushed the storm into fragments.
