The wind howled as Kyle and Nigel rode through the desolate countryside, the earth beneath their horses still trembling from the god's descent.
The sun, once high, now seemed dimmer—as if the world itself feared what had arrived. The path ahead cracked and twisted with every step, and Nigel clutched the reins tightly, trying to suppress the uneasy churn in his stomach.
Kyle glanced over at him and smirked faintly.
"You're nervous."
Nigel gave a dry chuckle.
"Is it that obvious?"
"You're practically rattling in the saddle. But don't worry—being nervous won't change the outcome of our win."
Kyle replied.
Nigel looked down, then slowly nodded.
"I'll try. I've fought in wars. Seen cities fall. Killed monsters with names and crowns. But this… this is different. Facing a god isn't the same as facing a man."
"That's natural. You're allowed to feel nervous. Just don't let it freeze you. You're not here to carry the battle. You're here to end it when the time's right."
