Chapter 5 - Life in the new world

For two years, he wandered the Cardinal World, learning, surviving, and slowly growing stronger. He met other Otherworlders—humans like him who had been transported from different worlds. Some were warriors, some scholars, and others simple travelers like himself. Through them, he learned more about this world, its nations, its dangers, and the gods who ruled from above.

Despite his weakened form, his Unique Skill: [Crafter] had proven invaluable. He forged weapons, repaired ancient artifacts, and even created tools that surpassed what most blacksmiths could achieve. His name slowly began to spread—not as a warrior, but as a brilliant craftsman.

Yet, even as he lived this peaceful life, something inside him burned—a desire to regain his lost strength.

The Fateful Encounter

It was in a small town on the frontier, a place often attacked by wandering monsters, that fate once again set him on a new path.

One night, under the light of two moons, a massive slime-like creature emerged from the nearby forest. Unlike normal slimes, this one was terrifyingly intelligent, its gelatinous body shifting and reforming with monstrous adaptability.

The town guards were powerless against it. Blades melted upon contact, magic barely slowed it down, and every attack only seemed to make it stronger.

As the town burned around him, he made a decision.

Gripping a sword of his own creation, he stepped forward.

Though he lacked divine strength, he had skill. His time in Purgatory had turned him into a survivor. His knowledge of crafting allowed him to predict weaknesses in materials. And more than anything—he refused to lose again.

The battle was long and grueling. Every time he struck, the monster adapted. Every attack it absorbed made it stronger. But he observed. He analyzed. And then—he crafted.

Using [Crafter], he forged a specialized weapon on the spot, modifying his sword with runes designed to disrupt the creature's regeneration. In a final, desperate strike, he pierced the core of the slime and ended the battle.

As the monster disintegrated, something strange happened.

A surge of energy filled him, and a new skill was carved into his very soul.

New Unique Skill: [Predator]

"Consume, analyze, and evolve—devour the power of the fallen."

Abilities of [Predator]:

Consumption – Allows the user to absorb the abilities and attributes of defeated enemies, refining them for personal use.

Analysis & Modification – Can break down consumed materials, extracting their essence to modify or enhance existing creations.

Storage – Grants an internal subspace where consumed objects, abilities, and materials are stored for future use.

Assimilation – The ability to merge compatible skills and traits, evolving them into stronger versions.

As the system confirmed his new power, he felt something deep inside awaken.

For the first time in two years, he wasn't just a crafter. He wasn't just a survivor.

He had taken the first step toward regaining his strength.

Looking at his hands, feeling the power of Predator flowing through him, he couldn't help but smirk.

"Looks like my journey is about to get a whole lot more interesting."

After defeating the slime monster and acquiring the Unique Skill: [Predator], his journey took a sharp turn. The days of mere crafting were over—he had stepped onto the path of strength once more.

Leveling Up – The Path to Power

With his new skill, he began hunting monsters, absorbing their strengths and refining his own abilities. Though he lacked the overwhelming might of his past self, his tactical mind, experience, and skill as a craftsman made up for it.

Each battle brought growth. Each enemy he consumed using [Predator] pushed him closer to what he once was. His body, once frail, strengthened. His reflexes sharpened. He began to level up—a concept he hadn't experienced in his old world.

And then, after months of battle, something incredible happened.

A New Power Awakens – Unique Skill: [Great Sage]

One day, after slaying a particularly powerful Abyssal Wyvern, a surge of knowledge flooded his mind. His vision blurred, numbers and symbols flashed before his eyes, and suddenly—

A voice echoed in his thoughts.

"Unique Skill [Great Sage] has been acquired."

His body froze. For a brief moment, he felt as though he understood everything—the flow of magic, the weaknesses of enemies, even the structure of the world itself. The skill was unlike anything he had before—it wasn't strength, nor destruction, nor creation.

It was wisdom.

Unique Skill: [Great Sage]

"Knowledge is power. Mastery is the key."

#Abilities of [Great Sage]:

1.Thought Acceleration – Increases processing speed a hundredfold, allowing for instant tactical analysis and decision-making.

2.Analytical Appraisal – Can scan, identify, and analyze anything—objects, enemies, skills, and even spells—providing detailed information.

3.Parallel Processing – Splits the user's mind into multiple thought streams, allowing for simultaneous problem-solving and multitasking.

4.Automatic Calculation & Prediction – Anticipates enemy movements, calculates probabilities, and suggests optimal battle strategies in real time.

5.Skill Optimization – Enhances existing skills and abilities by refining their mechanics, reducing energy consumption, and increasing efficiency.

As the flood of knowledge stabilized, he felt unstoppable. Predator had given him power, but Great Sage gave him control.

Now, he understood his own abilities, his own limits, and the potential he could unlock. His path was clear—

He would reclaim his former glory.

And this time, he wouldn't just be a survivor, a crafter, or a lost soul.

He would become something even greater.
