Whatever Thomas was thinking, he didn't have any time to lose or dwell on the system's messages. All he could focus on was how to survive this encounter—his first encounter with an alien beast that wanted to tear him apart or even consume him as an exotic delicacy. He had to pay close attention to the beast's movements and figure out how to defeat it. But apparently, the Haigan had the same idea.
The Haigan leaped. Its long claws came toward him, not in a simple swipe, but in a blur of speed. Thomas's body moved on its own. He ducked under the swipe, a movement so fast and perfect he couldn't believe he had done it. His body was reacting without his mind, using the muscle memory his grandfather had taught him years ago.
The Haigan was quick, but Thomas's new skill was quicker. He was no longer just a man; he was a Level 2 with a brand new skill.
The Haigan's" Claw Swipe," a skill enhanced by the System, was a terrible thing. The claws tore through the air, creating a whistling sound, but Thomas ducked and weaved, his movements precise and elegant. The Haigan snarled in frustration and lunged again, this time using its powerful tail to try and trip him.
Thomas jumped over the tail, his feet barely touching the ground. He realized something. He was faster. Not faster than the Haigan, but faster than he had ever been. He was using his body in a way he had never thought possible. The System was helping him.
He needed to fight back. He waited for his chance. The Haigan lunged, and Thomas saw an opening. As the Haigan's body was in the air, he used a move his grandfather called "The Serpent's Hand." He moved to the side and struck with the edge of his hand against the Haigan's front leg. It was a weak strike, and the Haigan barely flinched. But it was enough.
The Haigan landed, and a furious look entered its black eyes. It snarled again, and this time, its body began to glow with a faint, red light. It was using the skill "Qadab". The Haigan's muscles swelled, and it seemed to grow bigger. Its speed increased, and its power multiplied.
Thomas's Analyze skill updated the information over the Haigan's head.

Thomas knew he was in a very bad situation. He was outmatched in every way. The Haigan charged, a terrifying blur of motion. Thomas barely had time to react. He tried to dodge, but the Haigan was too fast. Its claw scraped his arm, and a sharp pain erupted. He fell to the ground, a thin line of blood appearing on his arm.
He knew he couldn't win this fight with his bare hands alone. He had to find another way. He rolled to the side as the Haigan lunged again, its claws digging into the ground where his head had just been. He used the moment to get to his feet. He had to be smart. His intelligence was his greatest weapon, not his strength.
He looked around. The street was full of rubble. He had an idea. He dodged another attack, and this time, he moved behind a large, fallen slab of concrete. The Haigan, in its rage, charged the slab. The impact was loud, and the concrete cracked, but it held.
The Haigan was strong, but its Qadab skill was limited. The stats had said "Duration: 2 hours," but Thomas didn't know how long it had been active. He needed to waste time and use his intelligence.
He used the slab of concrete as a shield. The Haigan circled it, its snarling growl a constant threat. Thomas kept the concrete between him and the beast, moving slowly around it. He was playing a waiting game.
The Haigan was not smart. Its rage, amplified by the Qadab skill, was making it sloppy. It kept trying to break through the concrete slab instead of going around it. Thomas saw his chance. The Haigan reared back for a massive, final attack. This was it.
As the Haigan lunged, Thomas did something unexpected. He didn't dodge or block. He jumped over the slab of concrete and ran straight toward the Haigan.
The beast, surprised, was too slow to change its attack. Thomas used his martial arts skills, his body a blur of motion. He used a move called "The Crane's Beak" and struck the Haigan in its eyes. The Haigan's eyes, the large, black, unblinking eyes, were its weakest point.
The strike was not powerful, but it was precise. The Haigan let out a terrible shriek of pain. The red light of its Qadab skill flickered, and its body tensed. Thomas, without thinking, followed up with a new move. He grabbed one of the long, sharp claws and, using the beast's own momentum, twisted it with all his strength. The claw snapped, and the Haigan screamed again.
It stumbled back, its momentum broken, its body no longer glowing with the red light. The Qadab skill had ended. The Haigan was still a threat, but it was no longer a monster of rage. It was hurt and scared.
Thomas saw his chance. He had to end the fight quickly. He ran to the Haigan and kicked it hard in the head. It was a simple kick, but it was precise and unexpected. The Haigan's head snapped back, and it collapsed to the ground, motionless.
Silence returned to the street. Thomas stood there, panting, his arm aching from the Haigan's claw. He was covered in dust and sweat, his heart still racing. He looked at the dead beast, and a new message appeared in his view.

Thomas, exhausted and his body aching, looked at the rewards. A new skill. The same skill that had almost killed him. He looked at his arm, the thin line of blood still there. He had survived. He had killed a monster. He had used the system and his own mind to win. He looked back at the vehicle, a new sense of purpose in his eyes. The city was dangerous, but he was not a simple human anymore. He was a survivor. He walked back to his vehicle, his mind already on the next challenge. He had a mission to complete, and he was no longer afraid of what might be waiting for him. He had faced a monster, and he had won. The city gate was still far away, but he was ready for the journey.
