Mia didn't know how to answer that question. She had a feeling that she had been thrown in the middle of two smiling tigers, and she didn't like the feeling at all. It was as if she were being slowly cooked.
"Bree," Lucas warned the woman once again, and she only scoffed lightly at his warning tone. She turned to face him and planted her hands on her hips before saying, "You are being rude, you know that?"

Mia watched their interaction silently, and she had no idea why she suddenly felt suffocated. She shifted in her seat uncomfortably without saying anything, but Lucas still caught the look in her eyes and explained, "Don't listen to her. She has a habit of saying all kinds of nonsense. As the adoptive daughter of my mother, she has been a bit wilful all her life."
