Silence fell in the area as Massimo's words settled in the air. He didn't even wait for Isabella to say anything as he released his breath and continued,
"Since college till now, I have loved you. I know that you don't think of me that way, but can you please give me a chance? A chance to prove that I'm worthy of you. A chance to love you, to be the partner of your happiness and sadness. A chance to take care of you. A chance to spend our lives together. I love you. Please, can you give me that chance?"
Isabella's eyes widened, and she was frozen as she took in Massimo's words. She was taken aback by his sudden confession. Was this the important thing he wanted to talk about?
She didn't know how she was supposed to handle it, as she didn't expect it at all. She had always thought of him as a friend. And most importantly, she had Nicholas in her life. She loved him.
