Thumped. Isabella's heart thumped steadily in her rib cage, and her mind raced with numerous thoughts as she stared at the new message on her phone that she had received a few minutes ago.
It was from an unknown number. A completely different one from the one she had received the threatening message from that man on almost a week ago.
But even though it was a different number, Isabella knew right away that it was the same person. It was him. There was no doubt about it. The content of the message and the arrogant tone in the text made it absolutely clear.
But unlike before, Isabella wasn't anxious or panicking. Instead, she was calm and calculative as she read the message. Because over the days she had learned not to let the fear of uncertainty consume her.
