Chapter 188 - Scepter

---

When Tony looked around, he saw the Mind Scepter being studied on a table not far away, emitting a bright light.

Tony slowly approached the scepter, wanting to take a closer look at it to see if it was the one Loki left behind.

But without Tony knowing it, he had already entered into an illusion created by the energy emitted by the scepter and the thoughts in his mind.

However, it was different from the situation in the movie. In the movie, the illusion was created by Wanda and the scepter together, and the effect produced was much more real than the illusion created by the scepter alone now.

Moreover, under the subtle influence of Kai, Tony now no longer had much anxiety about future enemies.

So, all Tony saw was a scene of countless Chitauri monsters attacking Earth, and when he saw this scene, Tony realized he had been pulled into an illusion.

So, Tony simply closed his eyes and then began to recall real things with his heart, directly breaking the illusion.

After coming out of the illusion, Tony looked at the scepter on the table with a more determined look in his eyes.

Then he raised his hand and began to summon his battle suit.

After receiving the summons, the battle suit directly separated from the right-hand part, flew to the basement, and accurately attached itself to Tony's hand.

Then Tony grabbed the scepter and examined it carefully in his hand.

After getting the scepter and destroying all the Hydras in the castle, everyone went through Kai's portal and returned directly to the manor.

Surrounded by a crowd of people, Tony came to the laboratory with the scepter and placed it on the table.

Looking at the scepter, Tony looked at Thor and asked, "Feels good, right?"

"You've been searching for it ever since S.H.I.E.L.D. fell."

Thor sighed, "Fortunately, now this matter is completed."

After hearing Thor's words, everyone knew that now that the scepter had been found, they needed to discuss how to use it.

At this time, Steve asked a question: "We need to find out as soon as possible what else it's been used for. Not only weapons—when did Sitrick start using it to enhance human capabilities?"

After hearing Steve's question, everyone nodded and agreed.

But Tony said, "Before that, Banner and I need to check it, okay?"

Tony was afraid Thor might disagree, so he looked at him and asked, "I mean, it only takes a few days, so the farewell party is still a few days away."

"Thor, will you stay and wait?"

Thor nodded affirmatively. "Of course. Victory needs to be celebrated with carnival!"

Then Tony turned to Steve again: "Captain, what about you?"

Steve replied, "I hope this time it can deal a heavy blow to Hydra. But yes—it's worth celebrating."

From Steve's expression, he looked ready to stop the anti-Hydra operation for a few days and rest in the manor.

After deciding to study the scepter, those who weren't interested returned to the living room, leaving only the researchers in the lab.

These included Tony, Banner, Yinsen, Samuel, and others—as well as special lives including Jarvis and Gear.

Tony looked at those who stayed behind, and said, "Okay, everyone, cheer up. It's time to play the game."

"We only have this game controller for a few days, so let's have fun with it."

He then gave orders to Jarvis and Gear: "Update its structure and component analysis data for me first."

Jarvis and Gear used the lab equipment to scan the scepter deeply, then gave a conclusion.

"This scepter is an outlier. Some ingredients I cannot quantify," Jarvis said hesitantly.

Tony caught the key point. "So, you can still analyze part of it?"

Jarvis replied, "That gem seems to be a protective shell. It contains something very powerful."

"What is it? Like a reactor?" Tony asked, naturally thinking in that direction.

But Jarvis objected. "It's something like a computer. I'm already trying to crack the code."

But just then, Gear, who had been silent, said: "I've cracked it. You can take a look."

He projected his findings onto the big screen for everyone.

Tony and the others immediately gathered around to check.

A huge, moving, yellow, brain-like structure appeared on the screen.

Tony stood up, walked over to the side, and operated a few times, sending something else to the screen—the core of Jarvis.

Jarvis's was blue. The one in the scepter was yellow. But the yellow one was clearly stronger.

Tony explained, "At first, Jarvis was just a natural language user interface. Now he commands the Iron Legion and handles almost everything but Pepper."

"But look at this."

No one needed further explanation. The yellow core and Jarvis's blue one looked like siblings—only one was more evolved.

"Guess what it looks like it's doing?" Tony asked.

Samuel watched the movements of the yellow core and said, "It looks like… it's thinking?"
