Ghost Hunter: Bad Beginning Arc – Part 5
Morning came. The wind slowly blew outside the window, and Leo, disturbed by the sound of the breeze, gradually opened his eyes. But when he did, he found himself lying in bed, having spent the entire night asleep with Yuki beside him.
Leo suddenly jumped up. Why was he in bed? Who had brought him here? Only one person could know the answer. He thought it must be her, quickly put on his clothes, and rushed to his sister's room.
He kicked open the door and ran into the big corridor, but suddenly the stairs twisted and moved chaotically in every direction. Then, a voice spoke:
Voice: "Why are you so angry?"
Leo looked up in shock. It was his mother—Marina Takoshi. But something about her aura startled him. It was no longer calm and peaceful.
Marina: "Don't act like a fool. Fix your clothes properly and come to the dining hall. Don't be late. Oh, and wake Yuki too."
She spoke as if she had just woken from sleep.
Leo: "Why… why was she sleeping in the same bed as me?"
Marina: "I'll explain later. Just do as I say and come quickly."
Leo: "Alright… I'm coming."
He went back to Yuki's room, knocked on the door and said:
Leo: "Hey, Yuki, wake up!"
But when he looked inside, the bed was empty. On the table, he noticed two rings.
Leo: "Damn it, Shizava…"
After changing his clothes, Leo headed toward the dining hall. When he opened the door, a long feast table full of delicious food awaited him. His mother sat at the center, with his younger sister Shizava on her left and his older sister Nemo on her right.
Leo politely greeted them:
Leo: "Good morning, Mother. Good morning, Sister."
Nemo: "Oh, my dear little brother has finally come!"
Shizava: "Mother, why didn't my brother greet me? Hmph! I'm upset with him."
Marina: "Shizava, don't be rude. Actually, you should greet your brother first."
Nemo: "Exactly."
Shizava: "Fine…" She jumped from her seat and threw herself into Leo's arms.
Shizava: "Good morning, dear brother!"
Leo hugged her and whispered:
Leo: "Shizava… I have something important to tell you."
Shizava stuck out her tongue playfully, then suddenly reappeared back in her chair, shocking Leo. He tried to grab her again, but his mother's sharp voice stopped him:
Marina: "Sit down."
Leo obeyed.
Leo: "So, Mother, what's the important thing you wanted to tell us?"
Marina:tears forming in her eyes "Your father… it's been two days since he died. And now… his legacy must be passed on to one of you."
Leo: "Legacy…?"
Shizava: "Sister, what's a legacy?"
Leo: "Mother, what do you mean by legacy?"
Nemo: "Listen carefully, Leo. Our father was actually a Dragon Slayer. And we—Mother, you, me, and Shizava—are all children of dragons. That's why one of us must inherit the power of the great Takoshi Dragon."
Marina: "Yes. That's why Nemo, you must bring your brother here."
Nemo: "If Father has passed away, then we need an heir. Dear little brother, you are that heir."
Leo: "But… none of us have such power. Then I'll take it myself."
Nemo: "Don't forget—if I want to, I can also claim this power. But only you or Teo can be the true heir. Not me, not Shizava."
Leo: "But I don't feel any dragon's power inside me."
Nemo: "That's because you haven't even awakened your star energy yet."
Leo: "Then teach me how to awaken it! If I'm the heir, I must learn now!"
Marina: "It won't be us who teaches you. It will be… your wife."
Leo: "My WHAT? Wife? Don't joke around! I don't have a wife!"
Suddenly, he remembered the rings.
Shizava: "Yay! I'm finally getting a sister-in-law!"
Leo: "Wait… don't tell me… Yuki is my wife?!"
Marina:smiling "Exactly."
Leo: "What?! We're only 15! At least marry off my older sister—she's three years older than me!"
Marina: "Your sister is already married."
Leo: "WHAT?! To who?! Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT! Who did she marry?!"
Marina: "Yakoshi Yugo."
Leo: "No way!"
Nemo: "Forget that. You should go to Yuki. She will help you unlock your abilities and inherit the dragon's power."
Marina:serious tone "Do as I say. If you argue or fight with Yuki… I will kill you."
Terrified, Leo quickly agreed and left the room.
