Miri's pov
Riven leaned against a tree like he didn't just mess with my head to lead me here, one brow raised, mouth curled into that infuriatingly cocky smirk. Caius stood beside him, arms folded across his chest, his silver eyes unreadable.
I turned to bolt. I really did.
But Riven was faster. An arm braced the tree beside my head before I could take a step, his body closing in on mine like smoke wrapping around a flame. He didn't touch me, but the way he looked at me? That was a different kind of contact altogether.
"Running again already, sweetheart?" he murmured, voice dipped in sin. "We just found you. We haven't even said hello properly."
I scowled, slamming my palm against his chest to push him back. He didn't budge.
"Get out of my space, Riven."
"Mmm." His purple eyes dropped to my mouth. "But I like your space. It smells like cinnamon and attitude."
Behind him, Caius cleared his throat but said nothing.
"Are you done being a pervert?" I snapped.
