"Enough talk—get ready to fight," Byrnndi World warned the others sharply, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the distant horizon.
"Let's go," the Red Earl said, a rare grin creeping across his lips. "Time to meet the so-called strongest man on the sea."
Having consumed the Mythical Zoan-type Bat-Bat Fruit, Model: Vampire, he was eager to test its power—especially against someone like Ayr. If he could absorb the blood of a powerhouse like Ayr, perhaps his life span and strength would extend even further.
The five legends—Red Earl, Byrnndi World, Ochoku, John, and Silver Axe—approached the coast with thousands of elite pirates at their back. There, in the distance, a single small boat floated, cutting through the sea like a silent predator.
But when they fixed their eyes on the ship, they realized something shocking: Ayr was not alone. Another figure stood beside him, a man whose presence froze their blood.
"Lo...Rocks??" Ochoku gasped, his pupils constricting violently, sweat forming on his brow.
That face—that aura—belonged to Rocks D. Xebec, the former King of the Seas, whose overwhelming might had once rivaled the World Government itself. Ochoku had served under him. He knew that presence.
"This is impossible... Rocks has been dead for over a decade!" Silver Axe stammered. "We were there at the Valley of the Gods. We saw Roger cut him down!"
Never, in his decades of life, had he heard of a corpse returning from death.
"Is this Genjutsu? A hallucination?" John muttered, fighting off the chill creeping up his spine. "We watched him die. This can't be real…"
If Rocks had somehow been resurrected—and if he was now standing with Ayr—then even five legends might not be enough.
One ruled the seas of the old era with unmatched might. The other had risen alone in the modern age to reach the summit.
Together, they could change the balance of the world itself.
"...Rocks?" Red Earl muttered, then closed his eyes and activated his advanced Observation Haki.
The result chilled him to the bone.
No illusion. No trick.
A sea of life force surged within the man standing next to Ayr. Red Earl could feel it. This was no phantom—this was Rocks, alive.
"Damn it… it's real," he whispered, stepping back instinctively.
Red Earl prided himself on his Observation Haki. It allowed him to sense emotions, intentions, and even glimpse the future. If this were an illusion, he'd know it.
But the energy radiating from Rocks was immense—primal. Alive.
"Is this a joke…?" Byrnndi World muttered, swallowing dryly. "Was that why Ayr went to the Valley of the Gods? Not to search for Uranus—but to resurrect Rocks!?"
It made sense now.
Ayr had always seemed too cunning to chase rumors of Uranus in a graveyard. And yet, he'd searched obsessively for the Eternal Pose to the Valley of the Gods.
Now it was clear—he hadn't been chasing a weapon.
He had gone to retrieve a monster.
"That's… that's insane…" John said, his voice trembling.
They had mocked Ayr's obsession with Rocks.
Now, standing here, the five of them could only watch in disbelief as the dead man they had once followed returned, brought back by the very enemy they had hoped to destroy.
While their minds reeled, Ayr finally spoke.
Standing at the bow, cold eyes scanning the invaders, he said with chilling calm:
"You've got guts... invading my territory while I was away."
His voice cut through the air like thunder.
"I step out for a while, and you trash try to wreck my home?"
"Ayr!" John growled, but his body wouldn't move. His instincts were screaming.
If it had been just Ayr, the five of them wouldn't have hesitated. They were old legends of the sea.
But now, with Rocks beside him?
They had all sailed under Rocks before. They knew what he was.
One man alone had held down the most chaotic crew in history.
A warrior who'd stood unshaken against Garp, Roger, and Whitebeard combined.
Even Red Earl, one of the most powerful pirates alive, hadn't dared cross Rocks back then.
And now, Rocks was alive again. Beside Ayr.
Even five legends together… the odds looked grim.
"You… you can resurrect the dead?" Red Earl asked, his expression grim.
Had he known this, he would never have allied with these fools—even if the World Government itself had offered him his devil fruit.
Now, it was too late. The battle was unavoidable.
And he knew... there was a real chance he would die today.
Ayr's expression remained calm.
"Why would I explain my powers to you, Bartholomew Redfield?" he said. "We've only met once, if I recall."
He paused, glancing at the other four pirates.
"And yet… here you are, standing beside them? I thought you hated weaklings."
Red Earl's eye twitched.
Ayr's calm cut deeper than a sword.
"But it doesn't matter. You're here now."
Ayr stepped forward, his voice like an executioner's verdict.
"So die here."
