Chapter 189 - Author’s Note

Time for a little update. I haven't been adding as many of these to the end of chapters lately, but I wanted to take a moment to explain a few things.

First, the "new" release schedule. I never really intended to slow down to one chapter every other day—or more precisely, one chapter per story per day, alternating between them.

So, why did it happen? Short answer: I was away for five weeks this summer and couldn't write during that time. To keep up posting, I needed to build a stockpile beforehand. With two ongoing stories and chapters averaging around 2,000 words each, that meant writing a lot. To have enough for five weeks, I would've needed to write a minimum of four chapters a day for just as long.

Yeah… that wasn't realistic. After the first week, I started burning out. My options were either slow down or take a complete break from posting, and I decided slowing down was better.

Will I return to the old schedule? I'd like to, but only once I've built up a solid buffer again. I've only just gotten home and started rebuilding it, so while it's on my mind, I don't have any immediate plans. For now, releasing one chapter per day is much easier to manage, and I'll probably stick with that a while longer.

On Kaguya's Legacy

I didn't say much when I first released Kaguya's Legacy, so let me explain a bit more now. I'd been working on it on the side for a while and really enjoyed it. Honestly, I enjoy writing in general, and if I forced myself to only stick with one story, I'd burn out faster. I often write small side pieces you'll never see—some experiments, some practice. Not everything is fit for posting. (Looking back, there are at least a dozen chapters of Kaguya's Legacy I probably shouldn't have shared… but too late for regrets now.)

I'm also a big fanfic reader. Sometimes when I finish a fic, I get pulled so deeply into that world that I feel the urge to write something in it myself. Often it's just a one-shot or two, but sometimes it becomes much more.

That said, I don't plan on releasing any new major stories until one of the current ones is near completion. At most, maybe a short story capped at a dozen chapters.

As for Kaguya's Legacy itself—it's moving into its next phase. Originally, I planned three arcs:

Taijutsu for the first third. Which was all about Kaguya, reborn into the clone body of Yuki, would learn taijutsu, and learn to fight.

All to avoid the embarrassing future of getting beaten by someone as pathetic as team 7.

Next, which is also coming up on Patreon these days, will be the ninjutsu arc, where taijutsu takes a backseat, to instead play around with far cooler things than punching stuff.

And finally, still a good bit into the future, the Dojutsu arc, all about cheat abilities. This also means that the romance stuff ends, and secrets will be revealed. Because if you have been reading it, you might have noticed that Yuki hasn't exactly been behaving like one would expect from Kaguya reborn. I have hinted at this plenty, but finally, in the next few chapters, from where the highest tier on Patreon is, everything will be revealed.

On Camelot

Camelot is also moving into an exciting new stage. Over on Patreon, we've officially reached the Avengers arc, and those chapters will start releasing here in about a month. If you'd like to read ahead, you can hop over to patreon.com/unknownfate

Finally, closing remarks. Art, I haven't been as good at adding that lately, have done more on Patreon, since it's much easier there, and will likely go about adding everything there in one free post soonish.

And finally, my shameless plug.

Got three tiers on Patreon now instead of just 1, so allow those who want to read just a few chapters ahead to do so at a much lower price. And still, two stories for the price of one, not too bad… a few of those I support offers that… even if I would love to see more from some of them… write more please! I want to read more!

Support me at patreon.com/unknownfate – for the opportunity to read 30 chapters ahead. Though it's currently 31 on the highest tier.
