"Bip! Bip! Bip! Bip!"
The sound of the lock echoed as the door swung open to Rae Yoorin's apartment. She stepped in,
For a moment, she froze, the memory flashing back—the time last year when Shan Wolf had helped her up after she had clumsily bumped into him.
"Ah… I need a drink," she muttered to herself in frustration, massaging her temples. Her steps dragged toward the vending machine in the hallway, her slippers barely lifting from the ground.
Just as she reached the corner, she collided with someone again, the impact jarring her slightly.
This time, she looked up—and her eyes widened.
It was Gon Jun San.
Behind him, the imposing figure of his boss, Jen Heo Won, loomed with a cold smirk.
"Oh? A drink? You should have one," she said with a sly smile, her tone laced with something unsettling.
An hour later…
In the dimly lit confines of Jen Heo Won's office, the sharp scent of whiskey filled the air.
Rae Yoorin gagged, her hand clutching the edge of the polished desk as she bent forward and vomited slightly from the heavy stream of alcohol being forced down her throat.
Her vision blurred, her lips slick with spilled liquor.
Jen Heo Won leaned over her with mocking eyes, raising another cup of whiskey in her hand.
"But shouldn't I be the one drinking?" she taunted, before tossing the liquor back with exaggerated mockery.
The liquid splashed at the corner of her mouth, dribbling down her chin in a show of excess.
"Pathetic commoner bitch,"
Jen Heo Won spat, her voice sharp and venomous.
"I gave you every fucking thing, and you couldn't even get me this one thing I fucking wanted."
She shoved the cup against Rae Yoorin's trembling lips and forced it down. Rae's throat convulsed, her body jerking as she choked, then coughed violently, the alcohol spilling back out, staining the expensive rug beneath her.
"Ma'am, I… I can't—" Rae gasped, her voice hoarse.
"You can't drink anymore?"
Jen Heo Won sneered, tilting her head as if amused. Slowly, deliberately, she set the glass down on the desk, then snapped forward and wrapped her hand tightly around Rae Yoorin's neck.
Her grip tightened like iron.
"Hmmm… okay,"
Jen Heo Won hissed, her face inches away, her breath laced with whiskey.
"Since you can't drink anymore… I'll force it down until you remember never to cross me, you lowly bitch."
With a violent thrust, she seized another glass and jammed it between Rae Yoorin's lips, tilting it until the burning liquid poured in.
Rae coughed and gagged, her body convulsing as she puked again, streams of alcohol and bile splattering onto the floor.
Jen Heo Won's eyes burned with contempt as she yanked Rae up by her hair, squeezing her cheeks until her lips puckered in humiliation.
"You said you had a way to end those three suckers," she snapped, her tone laced with venom. "Eva Kin… my fucking half-step sister, who they conveniently found when she was a teenager after being kidnapped. Of course, it was my doing."
She scoffed with a bitter laugh, tossing Rae aside like discarded trash.
"Then there's Ingrid Mikage—Father's loyal lapdog. And Shan Wolf… the predator himself."
Her eyes narrowed, a shadow crossing her face.
"Not much information about him. It's as if he refuses to be faced. Even Father is willing to throw away his most prized collection of whores—Ingrid Mikage herself. Tch. I'll never understand him."
Her footsteps clicked sharply against the polished floor as she walked back toward Rae, looking down with disdain.
"You, on the other hand… were so confident."
Her voice dropped into a dangerous whisper, her glare piercing.
"Yet you bring me nothing?"
Jen Heo Won continued shoving more alcohol into Rae Yoorin's mouth, then tipped the bottle and let it pour over her head, the liquid running down her hair and face in a humiliating, glittering stream.
The room smelled of cheap whiskey and fear. Jen fished a lighter from her pocket and flicked it until the tiny flame bloomed.
"Ever heard of a human molotov?" she asked, voice soft and deadly.
Rae Yoorin's eyes widened. For a moment she stared at the flame as if it were a memory and not a threat, her mind scrambling to understand what Jen was about to do. Her throat burned. Her scalp felt raw under the wet weight of liquor.
"Now listen to me and get that pea-brained head of yours working," Jen snapped, stepping closer until their faces were inches apart. Her breath smelled of alcohol and triumph.
"Whatever you saw, whatever you heard—if you have no proof, then it is just a fucking fantasy."
Jen brought the lighter even nearer to Rae's dripping lips and the slick of whiskey on her skin. The tiny flame reflected in Rae's terrified eyes.
The office hummed with air-conditioning and the distant city noise, but in that moment everything tightened to the hiss of the lighter.
"The only people who believe in fantasy are the poor, low-rung loser types," Jen said, each word deliberate. She leaned in, mocking smile taut across her face. "Low class bitch. So bring it."
She shoved her face so close Rae could see the saliva on her lip. "Proof that they are murderers."
After a heartbeat that felt like an hour, Jen straightened, dropped the lighter into the trash can with a soft clink, and walked to the sink.
She wet a tissue, dabbed sanitizer onto her hands as if she were cleansing more than alcohol, wiped her palms, and tossed the tissue into the bin with theatrical disgust.
Her movements were calm, clinical, like someone putting away tools after work.
"If you do not have proof," she said without turning, "you will pay me back a hundredfold. No, a thousandfold of whatever you received."
Rae coughed, voice raw. She tried to answer, to find some scrap of explanation, but her words were swallowed by the room. Her limbs trembled.
Her shirt clung to her skin. She tasted metal and bile and the sharp sting of humiliation.
Around them the city continued, indifferent, while Jen Heo Won watched her as if deciding whether to be merciful or break her entirely.
Jen Heo Won turned her eyes slightly, studying the pitiful state Rae Yoorin was in. Her lips curled in faint amusement.
"Hmph. You're pretty, I'll give you that," she said coldly. "Maybe Father would love another addition to his museum of personal whores. Or perhaps…" she tilted her head, voice dripping with mockery, "…you can pay me back with your body—for the old bags."
She let the words linger, her laughter echoing in the office.
"Ten years? Maybe twenty? Ahahaha…"
Her smirk grew colder, more venomous, her eyes glinting like a predator toying with prey. With one last mocking glance, Jen Heo Won straightened her suit jacket, brushed invisible dust from her sleeve, and strode toward the door.
The sharp click of her heels followed her as she walked out, heading to her scheduled meeting. The door shut behind her with a heavy thud, sealing the silence in her absence.
Only Rae Yoorin remained—drenched, trembling, and humiliated—her breath ragged as she tried to compose herself.
Across the room, Gon Jun San, Jen Heo Won's loyal assistant and bodyguard, stood in silence, his dark eyes fixed on Rae with unreadable intent.
