A slap lands on Daniel's face, releasing a wave and sending him flying out of view.
A muscular man comes into view. He is wearing only a short black knicker, a black mask and no footwear.
"FURI?!" I shout in disbelief. "YOU... YOU CAN'T BE REAL! YOU'RE... YOU'RE JUST... THIS IS JUST A NIGHTMARE!"
He sighs and walks out of view. I quickly rush out of my toilet, moving straight to my room window.
Below, I can see Daniel lying down on the ground, the man walking towards him.
I quickly rush downstairs, leaving my house and stopping in front of its entrance.
Daniel quickly gets up, almost as if he was never on the ground.
"MEHN! YOU JUST HAD TO SPOIL MY PLAN!" He shouts. "DOOM?!" He shouts.
Instantly more Daniels appear. Each looking exactly the same.
"NOW GO! WE CAN'T LET THE NEWBIE LIVE! ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS KILL HIM!" The original Daniel shouts.
"No matter what, don't move a muscle." The muscular man says. For some reason he sounds more scarier than Daniel.
The Daniels begin running forward at immense speed.
The muscular man rushes forward and slaps one, creating a wave and sending him flying and exploding before he reaches my gate.
"It's just as I suspected." The man says dryly. A chain appears in his hands. He throws it forward wrapping all the Daniels instantly. He jumps up, releasing a little wave, moving high and drawing all the Daniels along.
"NOW, MASTER!" He shouts.
"Let me handle this." Someone says behind me, placing a hand on my shoulders and almost causing me to pee on my pants.
A slim man walks forward. He is wearing a long blue trouser, a blue long sleeve shirt, a blue mask and a short sleeve blue cloak.
"Water furi art: Call the shot; water version." He says calmly.
A set of water made weapons begins appearing.
"WHAT IS ALL THIS?!"
"Ready!" He shouts.
The muscular man, who is already on the ground, drags the chain back down with force, releasing the Daniels. The Daniels begin falling down at immense speed.
"I'm sorry you're seeing this, boy." The man with the water weapons says as the weapons begins shooting at the Daniels, causing them to explode on contact.
One Daniel, severely injured manages to land to the ground. He gets up quickly, a wide grin on his face as the wounds on his body begins healing.
"Guess I'll have to go." He says and laughs.
"Not on my watch!" The muscular man shouts, rushing forward instantly and about to strike, but a man putting on a black mask appears in front of Daniel.
"Be gone." The man says dryly.
A powerful release of force occurs, sending the muscular man flying and landing hard to the ground.
"Him again!" The man in front of me says angrily. "Water furi art: Call the shot; Water version!" He says, the water weapons appearing and zooming towards Daniel and the man.
"I am not here for all this childish play." The man says dryly as the water weapons explodes, causing a strong wave to spread. "Next we meet, I won't have mercy. I don't spare bad guys." He says in a threatening tone.
He and Daniel dissapears.
"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" I shout in horror, lying on the floor and too scared to get up.
The one in blue sighs. "It's a Fury. And for some reason he's after you." He sighs again. "Maybe, you're the cause of his acceptance."
"WHAT?! ME?! I don't recall causing Daniel any troubles." I say, my voice shaky.
He closes the distance between us, standing very close.
"You sure?!" He asks.
"Yeah!" I snap, still scared.
"Join the Furis." The one in blue says calmly.
"NO WAY!" I shout.
"But you're one of us." He says.
"NO, I'M NOT!"
"You have already been chosen by another Furi!" He says, the calmness in his tone shifting to an angry one, then back to it's calmness. "Don't let your potential and the Furi's expectations go to waste."
"I don't understand what you're saying!" I snap. "I have not been chosen by any Furi! I always thought you guys aren't real! And here you are telling me that I have been chosen by one!"
"Really?" He asks in a calm surprised tone.
"Yeah." I say, my voice shaky.
"But you... Please for the love of God and everyone you love, join us. We... We need more members. The Furys are getting more in numbers and in strengths."
"I'm... I'm sorry." I say, looking at the ground as guilt fills me.
"So you're just going to be useless with your ability."
"Isn't there a way to un-choose me?" I ask, feeling uncomfortable. "I don't even have any ability."
"No!" The man says, his calm tone gone completely. "And the abilities don't just appear suddenly in some cases."
"Maybe I should have left you dead! I shouldn't have come in the first place! I wasted my damn time!" The one in black knicker says coldly, causing me to look up, my eyes landing on his cold black empty mask. "You are nothing! Better off dead than alive! You don't deserve to live, if you want to be saved but aren't willing to save." His voice now is extremely scary. "Mark my words, I would rather die than come saved..."
"It's save, mi boy." The man in blue says.
"Yeah! That!" The one in black says coldly. "I would rather die than come save you and your family again!" He says, shocking me to the core.
"Bu... But you're a Furi, a hero!" I shout.
He closes the distance between us, leaving only a little space. "Well, no hero is stupid enough to save people like you, lives!" He says flatly.
"That's enough, Chan Lee!" The one in blue says calmly.
'HE'S CHINESE?!'
"Yes, sensei." The one in black says calmly.
"Aqua champ is much better!" The one in blue mumbles.
"Look kid..." He sighs. "We won't force you to. But don't blame us if you or your parents get attacked or worse; killed." He says calmly.
"You aren't serious!" I snap.
"I'm not! I am more than serious!" He says angrily. "We won't save you or him or her!"
"WHAT?!" I shout in disbelief. "That's not fair! You don't do this to others! I'm not the one who chose myself!"
"It is quite fair! You are lucky enough to be saved on your first day! Most of us lacked that luxury!" He sighs and rubs his forehead with his fingers. "The Furi that chose you saw something in you. You accepted, that's why you are now a Furi. If you had rejected it, you wouldn't be one now."
"But I can't remember anything about being in contact with a Furi!"
"Yes. That too is strange. And I'm sure the Furi is somewhere out there or maybe dead." He sighs. "Join us and we will get to the bottom of this.
"O... Ok." A tear slips down my face. "But I need something." I say calmly.
"What?"
"Promise I and my family won't die."
"Well, I can't promise for you, but I'll try all my best to keep you and your family safe. Even if it means dying." He says, his tone intense.
"Thanks." I sigh in relief.
"Welcome. I'm glad you chose wisely." He says.
"MY GATEMAN!" I shout, getting up quickly and rushing to his post. I enter the room, stopping in front of his body that is in a pool of blood.
Two hands lands on my shoulders.
"Don't turn around. Don't move." A voice says behind me.
"Is it necessary to kill him? Let's give him a chance." Another voice says.
"It'd be too cheap and simple to kill him now, right? Let's give him a chance to live, then. He might die in his first fight." The first voice says and chuckles.
"Let's go, then." The second says.
The hands leaves my shoulders.
After some seconds of silence, I quickly bolt outside, straight to the two Furi's and narrate the whole event. They are both shocked.
"How did they escape being sensed?!" The one in blue shouts in a panicking tone.
"It is obviously a Fury we haven't seen before!" The one in black says, he's tone also one of panic.
They both follow me to the gateman's room. The one in blue kneels down and examines the gateman. After some minutes, he shakes he's head.
"I'm sorry." He says in an apologetic tone.
"HE..." I choke. "HE IS DEAD!" I shout as tears begins running down my face. "What will I tell my mummy or his wife or his five children?!" I shake my head. "What should I tell myself?! The part of me that doesn't want to accept this. WHAT?!" I land on my knees. "He was the best person you can ever leave a child with! He was a very good guy that helped me a lot, from cheering to keeping company and so many more!" My crying intensifies as I look at the lifeless blood soaked man on the floor.
"We're sorry, man! Atleast they didn't kill you." The one in black says. "You can have revenge."
"Chan Lee!" The one in blue says. "Don't give him such an advise!"
"He's right!" I snap. "I am going to be a Furi! And I will have revenge!"
"No boy. That's not the point here. The point is..."
"ENOUGH..." I shout, cutting the one in blue statement short. "That's the point!*
"No it's not!" He sighs tiredly. "But... I'll train you my best first. Only then can you go for your vengeance mission." He says calmly. "But, that isn't the right path, son. It will make you no different from them."
"I accepted and that's that." I say dryly.
A sudden knock on the gate draws our attention.
I quickly rush out of the room. "Mum! Is it you?"
"Yes, son. Open the gate." She says calmly.
"Wait!" The one in blue says, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Ask her a question only you and her knows."
"Son? Open the gate. Where's the gateman?" She says in a calm but stressed tone.
"Mum, I know you're tired... But, can I ask you something?" I say quickly.
"What is all this?! Stop messing with me, young man!" She says in an angrily.
"Mum, please!" I plead. "It's very important!"
She sighs. "Ok." She says calmly.
"What is the thing, I asked you this morning to teach me later?" I ask.
"Hmmm. Is it to teach you how to read minds?" She says in a light tone and chuckles.
"Yes!" I shout, quickly opening the gate, pulling my mum in and locking it back.
"What's going on here?!" She asks in her "the truth?" tone. "Where's the gateman?!" She asks in a panicking tone.
"Dead." Is all I could say as tears begins streaming down my face.
"What?!" She shouts in horror. "Dead?!"
She rushes straight to his room, me trailing behind her. She stops in front of the gateman's corpse, shouting in horror.
"This... This can't be!"
"Calm down, miss." Chan Lee says calmly, his tone sounding strangely, like that of a sobbing person.
"We were in time. Your son would have been dead too." Aqua champ says, calmly.
"Thanks." She says as her sobbing intensifies.
I walk to her and hug her tight. "It's okay, mum. I'm here for you." I say, tightening the hug.
She hugs me back. "I know, son."
After some minutes she calls the cops. In less than an hour a cop car is parked outside our house.
My mum handles the questioning, since I told her the whole event. She also thinks I might make mistakes during the interrogation.
I'm on my parlour couch, sitting quietly and looking at the two Furis that are also sitting quietly and returning the gaze from across the table.
"So... How are you going to tell my mum about you guys?" I ask almost quietly.
"She knows about us already." Aqua champ says.
"Huh?! How?!"
"If she didn't know, she would have flipped and asked what are masked men doing in her home." He says like it's the most obvious thing. And surprisingly it is.
"Now, you say it, it's obvious." I say, feeling dumb.
The door opens, my mum walking in.
I quickly get up, rushing to her and giving her a tight hug. She hugs me back, tighter.
We release each other.
"What did they say, mum?!" I ask.
She shakes her head sideways. "It's hopeless, son." She says in a bitter tone as tears begins running down her face. "It's a Fury, so there's nothing they can do, but hope that the Furis handle them."
"You knew about them?" I ask in surprise.
She gives me a "are you for real?" look. And I give her "you bet I am".
She sighs. "Of course everyone that watches the news knows they are real. Their fights are always aired the next day." She says in a light tone.
"Hi, I'm Aqua champ and my, must I say you are such a beauty!" He says in a cool and funny way.
'WHAT THE...?! IS HE TRYING TO...?!'
"Thanks." My mum says, obviously surprised. "You guys want anything?" She asks.
"Good and no." Aqua champ says, his tone and behaviour becoming serious. "We are here for your son."
"What is his offence?" She asks in a protective mother way.
"Nothing." Chan Lee says calmly. "Let's sit and talk it out."
We all walk to the couch and sit. I and my mum sit on the same couch while the two Furis sit on the same couch across us.
"We want to recruit your son. We want him to join us. We..."
"ENOUGH!" My mum snaps. "You want to take my precious son from me?! After I just lost a member of my family?!"
"No, ma'am." Chan Lee says calmly. "He's been chosen. He is a Furi. And..."
"STOP THIS MADNESS!" She snaps again. "My son is no Furi! He is an ordinary boy, living an ordinary life! I've never seen him do any super power thing before!" Tears begins running down her face again.
I can feel my stomach twisting. I have always hate seeing my mum cry. But she has cried alot in one night.
"What if you're wrong?! What if he's not?!" She asks in a pained tone.
"Ma'am, our Furi sense doesn't fool us." Aqua champ says calmly and sighs. "We know a fellow Furi, once we sense them."
"What if..." My mum breaks into tears.
I stand up, kneeling down in front of her and hugging her tight. "Mum, it's okay. I'll be fine. He promised he'll protect us."
"You don't understand, do you?" She asks in a pained tone. "If you die, I'll be the one that will suffer it most. Your dad won't even take it lightly." She says and sniffs.
I tighten the hug. "Then, I promise I won't die till the battle is won. You just have to believe in me." I say, surprisingly calm, even though I feel like I'm going to suffocate.
The selfish part of me is wishing my mum would hold me tight and won't agree. While the part that loves my mum and can die for her is ready to kill all Fury and come back home, smiling at her victoriously.
She sniffs. "Can you promise me my son's safety? It's more important than mine." She says calmly, causing the tears I've been holding inside since to burst out.
"We can't promise he'll be safe everytime, but we promise to keep him as safe as we can." Aqua champ says calmly.
My mum bursts into more tears, me joining her. "Please do your best in doing that." She pleads.
I release her and sit beside her, sniffing.
She picks her phone and dials a number. The phone starts ringing.
"Hello, love?" My dad says in a sweet tone.
"Hi, honey. We have some guests that would love to tell you something." She says calmly.
"What happen?" He asks in a worried tone. "Why are you crying, my love?"
"Let them tell you." She says as she begins crying more. She hands the phone over to Aqua champ and he gets up, walking some distance away.
He narrates the entire event to my surprisingly quiet father. He is obviously too shocked to speak.
"We want to recruit your son." Aqua champ says calmly.
My dad voice begins to boom through the phones speakers, although I can't understand what he is saying.
After an hour, Aqua champ comes back and gives me the phone.
"Hello? Son?" My dad calls in a pained tone. "I'm outside the gate. Come open it for me." He says.
I quickly rush outside, running straight to the gate and opening it.
My father hugs me tight the moment he sees me. "God!" He says as more tears runs down his face. "Look at you now, looking so manly! I wonder if I was this manly at your age!" He joked as more tears runs down his face. "Is this what you want?" He asks calmly. "To go?"
"Yes, dad."
"Ok. But promise me one thing."
"What?"
"You will come back victorious, with a wide smile and an empty stomach." He jokes and we both laugh pained laugh as tears streams down our face. "So, we can eat to coma, ok?" We both laugh again.
"Ok, sir!" I say loudly.
"Good."
"Let's have a word." He says and releases me.
"Ok." I hear Aqua champ say behind me.
I walk to my mum and give her a tight hug, releasing her minutes later as Aqua champ and my dad comes back.
After hours of packing my stuff, I am ready to leave.
"Please be safe, son!" My mum and dad say together as I stand outside the gate with all my belongings.
"I will and you too!" I say, giving them my last hug.
We cry more before releasing each other.
"Let's go, then." Aqua champ says calmly.
"Okay." I say. "Bye, mum! Bye, dad!" I shout.
"Bye, son!" My mum and dad shout together.
"Big mummy." Aqua champ says.
The environment changes instantly.
"Welcome to my house." He says, his hand spread wide.
I look around the house we are in, in shock. "Did we just..."
"Teleport? Yes. Big mummy's doing." Aqua champ says.
"Who's that?" I ask.
"You'll know her soon." Chan Lee says.
"Ok." I say. I burst into laughter, unintentionally. "Sorry." I say at the two obviously confused men in front of me.
"What's funny?!" Chan Lee asks.
"I am just imagining how my parents took the teleporting." I say, the three of us bursting into an uncontrollable laughter.
"True." Chan Lee and Aqua champ say as they stop laughing.
I also stop, feeling sick that I'm laughing when I lost a family member.
"Are you okay?" Aqua champ asks.
"Yeah! Yes I am!" I say quickly. "It's just..."
"I know it's still hard for you, but trust me, you'll be ok." He says calmly.
"Ok."
'I wonder how they look.'
"Chan Lee, take him to his room. Let him rest well for tonight. Tomorrow he shall see the breathe taking faces, he's craving to see." Aqua champ says teasingly.
"NO I'M NOT!" I shout in defence, feeling embarrassed.
"Ok." He says and I have a feeling he is smiling to himself. "Of course you aren't. Good night." He says and walks away, while I glare at him.
Chan Lee takes me to my surprisingly spaceous room. He offers to help with my things.
After some hours of helping me to arrange my things with his face closed, *sigh*, we finally finished.
"Thank goodness." I say with a heavy sigh.
"Good night. Need to go shower." He says and leaves.
I quickly strip, rushing to the bathroom and bathing thoroughly. After I'm done I wear one of my pajamas and lie on the nice big fluffy bed in the room.
"So, this is my new life, huh?" I sigh tiredly. "I just hope I can fulfill my promise." I mumble to myself and go to bed.
Elsewhere...
"I'll kill you!" Delight (Light Furi) shouts in anger.
"Go on!" Doom (Clones and explosion Fury) shouts, a wide grin on his face.
Light appears in front of him, attempting to slash a part of his body, but he dodges it, landing a powerful punch on Delight's stomach, sending him flying and landing to the ground.
"How can a newbie be so stupid!" Doom shouts in amusement, laughing maniacally. "You are nothing to me!"
"Zip." Haq (Zip and unzip Fury) says calmly.
A black material shoots out from Light's back and covers him. A huge zip appears in front of Light body, on the black material, then he dissapears.
"That's two newbies down. I hope the others did their jobs." Haq says. "That is, if your clones were of good help."
"Hey!" Doom shouts. "You're underestimating my supremacy, my supreme art!"
"Yeah, whatever." Haq says dryly.
"Light and sound? They sure would be good toys!" Doom says happily, laughing maniacally. "Looks like we've got ourselves a fun match."
"Whatever." Haq says dryly. "Let's go meet the boss."
"Yeah, yeah! Boredom lord!" Doom shouts and laughs.
