Chapter 63 - 63

Lockhart picked up Donna Avery with a look of anxiety.

He hurried toward the castle, and as he rounded a corner, he ran into Count Dentis.

"Oh, it's the Count!"

Dentis glanced at Lockhart, then at Avery.

"So, it's the great writer Lockhart, is it? What's wrong with Miss Avery?"

"So, her last name is Avery..."

Lockhart snapped back to reality and quickly replied,

"She suddenly fainted!"

"Is that so? Let me take a look."

Dentis leaned in and pretended to examine her.

"It's nothing serious. She just fainted from being too excited—I think she might be a fan of yours!"

"Of course, there's no doubt about that. But she fainted because of me… this… this is too adorable! But now I think I should find a place for her to rest."

Dentis pointed to the west tower.

"On the fourth floor of that tower, there are a few guest rooms. You can take her there to rest."

"Thank you so much, Count!"

Lockhart took off running but, after going a dozen meters, suddenly turned back.

"Count, can you tell me what Miss Avery's first name is? It's very important to me!"

"Of course. Her name is Donna. Donna Avery."

Dana twisted his neck. Dealing with these pure-blood nobles was truly exhausting.

But today's harvest was plentiful. He had not only learned who the Ministry of Magic official helping Old Avery was, but had also successfully brought Donna Avery and Gilderoy Lockhart together.

He licked his lips. Now, he only needed to do two things—

Find Barty Crouch Sr. and test whether he was involved in the events of that year;

Then, give Donna Avery and Gilderoy Lockhart a strong dose of "medicine" to completely bind the two of them together.

Walking to the entrance of the tower, Dana beckoned over a Death Adder gang member.

"BOS— Count!"

"Go to the fourth floor and bring Mr. Lockhart and Miss Avery two glasses of water, with this added."

Dana took out a small packet of powder and handed it to the gang member.

"Yes!"

Adding potions was nothing to the Death Adder gang members, who were originally from the lowest rungs of society.

Dana walked toward the hall with satisfaction. He remembered that Barty Sr. was drinking alone on the east side.

"Headmaster Albus Dumbledore of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

The servant's announcement rang out at the door. Dana frowned slightly. Why was the old honey badger here?

But thinking about it, Lucius Malfoy was a Hogwarts governor, so it was only right that he would invite Dumbledore—the foremost figure in the British wizarding world.

Dana quickened his pace and walked toward the door.

"Ah! You must be Headmaster Dumbledore, the First White Wizard! I've long admired you! When I was still in the East, I heard of your great name! If it weren't for you, I'm afraid all of Europe—maybe the world—would have been ruled by Grindelwald!"

When it came to subtly stabbing people in the heart, Dana was very good at it.

Sure enough, Dumbledore's left eyebrow twitched involuntarily.

"Greetings, Count Dentis. I apologize for my tardiness. I've been busy with official duties recently."

"You're too humble! Your presence alone is my honor. Quickly, quickly—please come in."

Dumbledore nodded slightly and followed Dentis into the castle.

"Count Dentis's collection is astonishing," Dumbledore remarked.

"If I'm not mistaken, that sword is Excalibur, isn't it?"

"Yes, your eyesight is excellent!"

"Heh heh, having lived for over a hundred years, that's the only benefit. But Excalibur, which the British wizarding world hasn't been able to find for thousands of years, is actually in the Count's collection. That's truly astonishing."

As Dumbledore spoke, a murmur stirred in his heart.

Previously, he couldn't see through Dana Emrys, which could be explained by his special bloodline. But he couldn't see through this Darke Dentis either! What was going on?

How could there be so many special bloodlines in this world?

He hadn't seen one in the past few decades, and now he had seen two in the past half year!

Dumbledore was about to say something when he saw Oliver Avery running over.

"Count, have you seen my niece?"

Dana nodded.

"Of course. I took her to the garden just now, and then she met her idol."

"Gilderoy Lockhart?"

"Yes, that gentleman. Miss Avery fainted because she was too excited, so I had Mr. Lockhart take her to the guest room."

Oliver Avery's expression changed drastically. Lockhart's reputation in romance wasn't good.

He quickly pleaded,

"Count, please assign someone to take me to the guest room!"

Dana shrugged.

"There are many guests today, and I don't have enough staff here… How about this, I'll take you there myself."

Dana turned to Dumbledore.

"Headmaster, why don't you come with us as well? I'd like to know how my castle compares to Hogwarts—"

Dana casually pointed to a snack rack, and a piece of candy immediately flew over.

"This is a traditional Eastern candy. Headmaster, you can try it—I've heard that you like sweets the most."

"The Count has truly done his homework."

"Since I've decided to settle in England, I naturally have to understand the British wizarding world a little better."

Dana began to lead the way.

"Please!"

The three of them walked toward the west side.

At that moment, a rumor spread—perhaps among the servants—that there was excitement to be seen on the fourth floor of the west tower.

So, a group of men and women began to head that way as well…

"Headmaster Dumbledore, what do you think of my décor?"

"Not bad—it preserves the original historical traces and adds many new ideas. The Count understands how to live."

"That's natural. If you don't enjoy life, then no matter how much money you have, it's useless. Don't you think?"

Oliver Avery couldn't get a word in, but even if he could, he didn't have the mind to.

He had been trying to get Donna Avery to form a connection with Count Darke Dentis to help the family, but now Donna was likely being snatched away by Gilderoy Lockhart, and he was as anxious as an ant on a hot cauldron.

But the Count and Dumbledore were chatting and laughing, pointing out scenery as they walked. The short four floors felt like climbing a ten-thousand-foot cliff.

Finally reaching the fourth floor, Dana pretended to ask the gang member standing guard at the staircase:

"Which room is Mr. Gilderoy in?"

"The one at the end of the circular corridor."

Dana nodded and said to Oliver Avery,

"Mr. Avery, let's go."

Oliver Avery quickly picked up his pace but found that Dentis had only taken a few steps. He quickly stopped and looked at Dentis sheepishly, his heels involuntarily shaking.

"Don't worry, Mr. Avery. Miss Avery will be very safe here."

Not only safe—but able to find her true love!
