Chapter 25 - Long Time No See

"Huh. What is this?" I woke up and immediately realised that there was a note left on a table near me.

I also saw a gift basket filled with goodies such as fruits, snacks and a bottle of wine. There was also a note attached to the basket.

I naturally knew which note was more important as I started reading the one on the table.

The content of it was simple. It said I have won the tournament and will receive the reward when I woke up because of Master Roshi's withdrawal.

And the note also has a mail address and a five-letter word that said "You Know What to do."

I realised that it was from Baba. She was reminding me to send the prize money to her.

"But who could have given me this? Is it from Spike or one of the audience members?" I said as I took the note attached to the basket.

Unlike Baba's note, it only has three sentences. Congratulations on your victory. Call me. And a phone number was written on it.

"This must be from her." I immediately realised that this note was left to me by Bulma Briefs.

I was surprised at first since normally girls are a bit reserved even if they are a bit flirty. Then I remember how Bulma normally acted near a handsome guy before her marriage.

Still surprising but not that much surprising when I think about it like that.

During the time I trained with Fortune teller Baba, I was able to learn how to fly using ki.

It was not very fast and a flying car would be much faster but it was still a useful skill to possess.

"Hey. Mom. Look, that person is flying." A child said to his mother as he pointed at me.

"Don't be ridiculous. Wait... You are right." She didn't believe her at first but when she looked up the sky she saw me waving directly at her.

"This feeling is great. I have to learn how to increase my flying speed even further." I said to myself.

Being able to feel the cool breeze as I soar through the skies is an experience that I never knew I wanted.

The closest thing that I have experience with in my past life was skydiving which was short and you can't even control the direction of where you want to go.

With no traffic to worry about and no need to use up my stamina, I was able to reach back to the west city very quickily.

"Finally. I am back." I said.

When I was preparing to go towards the direction of my house I was almost hit by a flying car.

"Hey, buddy. Watch it." The driver cursed at me.

Unlike the majority of the world, West City was pretty developed with towers reaching towards the sky and flying cars everywhere.

If I flew higher I could get away from those obstacles but I wanted to find my mother or go back to my house so flying too high would not help me in my case.

"Wait. Is that?" I then noticed a small familiar silhouette in the compound of the Capsule corporation.

It was my mom who was holding some documents.

Without hesitation, I flew towards Capsule Corporation and landed near the place where my mother was.

"Kei. Is that you?" Mom said as she looked at me.

She then approached me and hugged me tightly while still holding the documents in her hands.

"Did that guy just come from the sky?"

"Wait. I knew that guy. Isn't he the guy who won the last martial arts tournament?"

"Really? Isn't that tournament said to be in decline in recent years?"

"No. This year was great. I even got to see the legendary Kamehameha. Shame that the final matchup never happened."

I heard a few people talking about me but I ignored them.

"Have you eaten anything yet?" My mom asked me.

"No," I replied.

"Then wait for a few minutes. Let's eat together. It's almost time for my coffee break." She said to me.

I nodded.

After waiting for a while she took me to the bakery opened within a few minutes of walking distance from the capsule coperation.

"What do you want to drink? Usual?" She asked me.

"Uhmm. I would like an iced latte. And a slice of chocolate cake." I replied.

She walked up to the counter to make her order.

This was one of those bakeries that does not have a waiter so you have to go and make an order at the counter while paying the cost.

The shop will then give you a noise usually a beeping sound from a device they temporarily gave out with the order, the number of your table or receipt, a bell sound or a name calling when they have finished preparing it so that you can go and pick them up.

In this restaurant case, it was a bell sound.

"So. Where the hell have you been these days?" My mom asked.

"Well."

I then started to tell to her that I only went out for a trip but met a powerful master.

I trained under him and then participated in a martial arts tournament only to finish second.

I didn't tell her the truth because saying I tried to search for dad is not something she would like to hear and training under a witch sounds crazy for normal people.

And I also don't want to talk about giving away the prize money to Baba so I also lied about the result of the tournament.

"You know you should have called once in a while. I was pretty worried." She nagged me.

She seems to be a bit mad but also disappointed in me.

"So. what about school? Are you planning to continue studying?" She asked me.

"I....." I was confused about what to answer.

I don't want to go back to school since I could be using that time for other purposes.

But saying that infront of a mother while not being able to show I can earn money by myself is a big problem.

I tried to think of what to say to her but at that moment I heard a bell ring.

I thought it was the order being ready but I realised that it was just two people entering the shop.

It was a blue-haired girl and a mature blonde woman who looked like she was not opening her eyes.
