Chapter 47 - When the past comes knocking

After snapping at Wolcott, Haisley felt indescribably elated. However, she knew very well, this guy hadn't come back a few times in the past twenty-odd years, so his presence this time definitely had a purpose.

Haisley stepped into the living room, instantly spotting her mother. Jodelle sat in an armchair in the living room, lost in thought, her eyes slightly red.

Realizing her daughter had arrived, Jodelle forced a smile, saying, "You're back?"

Haisley saw her reaction, and angrily said, "That man just now, he came to ask for a divorce, didn't he!"

Haisley felt this day would come sooner or later. After all, Wolcott hadn't been home for a full eight years. And the incident with Rosalie has stirred up quite a fuss.

That old vixen has always been the apple of his eye, cherished and protected. One can't even begin to describe how precious she is to him!

However, Jodelle said, "No."

"What did he come for then?"
