Chapter 157 - chapter 156

Eventually the group formed a full formation. Hou decided to stay in the centre, while he had defensive abilities, they were not practiced so he decided not to focus on them.

Weirdly to Lan Qiang however, Hamar did go to the outside, he did not go to the outside because of his close range attacks though, he went because of his aura.

Aura was very versatile and he could use it to create a barrier, by manifesting it like how he runs on air, this meant he had excellent defensive abilities. Lan Qiang saw that the whole group was set up and shouted,

"Then we move forward, if anything attacks do not break formation!"

The whole group walked through the dead forest, slowly approaching the mansion of master Sheng. As they did, they saw approaching shadowy figures. But luckily, they kept formation and the figures stayed away, they did not attack.

Finally, they made it to the mansion with no trouble. The formation separated and Lan Qiang praised,

"Good job everyone! Let's all do to our own rooms like master Sheng said. Just follow the badge's direction!"

The group disbanded and people left with makeshift groups as they walked into the mansion. A few cans up to others and thanked them. Hou let go with Hamar who then meet up with Lan Qiang. First it was Hou who spoke,

"Lan Qiang, you're very good at leadership! Do you want to follow us until we need to split to go to our separate rooms?"

Lan Qiang put away his spear, swing it and placing it on his back,

"Of course, let's go," he walked forward and pushed into the mansion, where he stepped in and suddenly his vision became blurry.

Hou and Hamar saw him step in and turn into a bloody mist which flew out. The gulped and then looked at each other,

"You want to go first?"

Hamar shook his head, "I'll do it, must be a similar technique to what Mo Huai did. Transform us into a different form before moving us like that"

Hamar stretched his body then stepped into the building. As he did so, he winced. Then inside his body he felt the aura spike up, but he calmed it. If he did not calm the aura it would attack the technique and cause it to not activate properly, this is what he figured out with Mo Huai.

He turned into a mist a red blood with a blue under glow, then he shot off. Hou saw this and nodded,

"Now me...."

He took a deep breath then stepped into the mansion. First he felt a technique activate, his Celestial Law Amplifying Physique magnified its effect and he started to transform into blood.

However, his blood was like a guitarist if it's own. He turned into a galaxy of black ink and galaxy like coloured particles. But that was not an that was weird, mid-transformation he stopped.

The technique paused and his ring started to activate. The blood ring that was sealed started to move. The dragon which reached across Hou's finger became alive as it sucked in the technique.

'Is the technique made of blood, so the ring decided to absorb it too unseal itself. It does need baby different types of blood... This does make sense...'

Hou thought of the reason and realised he would need to stores the ring. He talked to Yue who easily suppressed the ring, this was because Yue could use his blood control and cause the ring to become dormant once again.

Then the technique began again. Hou turned into a mist it his own galaxy-like blood. Then he shot it and flew through the mansion, even flying through the keyhole in his door.

The he reformed and saw his room. It was a rather large bedroom with more rooms attached. He also tried to sense outside but could not,

'Privacy...or spying? Perhaps both, privacy from other students, but spied on by the teacher. I shouldn't do anything too suspicious here...'

Then in a completely different part of the mansion, master Sheng smiled. He was watching what everyone was doing, he said to himself,

"This Lan Qiang is good.... Good leadership and insight. It's good to be easy if your surroundings, and that formation was a good way to protect themselves. Better than those who left alone and had to run or fight."

Then he turned around and pulled out a set of two pictures,

"These two.... They're suspicious. Hu Li, such advanced and versatile techniques yet completely unknown, supposedly from a random small family. But that's not the suspicious thing, his blood is unique. It's got a unique composition and ability, and that ring. That ring could disrupt the technique I had placed... I'll keep an eye on this one"

"And this one, Hei Feng... Equally suspicious. He claims to be from a small tribe in Sword Domain. But... I've never seen his techniques, not anything similar. I can't even decide the laws being used. That glowing blue power is intriguing to say the least..."

He threw down the two pictures of Hou and Hamar then took out Lan Qiang's picture,

"And it just so happens that this one became friends with these two. A very peculiar trio indeed..."

He threw Lan Qiang's picture down and laced the trio together. Then he dismissed them, turning into blood. They were a technique, using blood to transform into people he had seen.

Hamar sat down in his room and began to absorb mana, in order to refine more aura. He had used a lot the previous days. Similarly, Hou sat down and cultivated, absorbing basic laws around him. The whole group of students all did pretty much the same thing.

They did not have an infinite amount of laws. They needed to recover them and they did not dare to fully while still in the contest. Now that they were out they made sure to, some even using pills and materials to absorb larger amounts of laws from.
