Chapter 200 - volume 4 primer

🚨 DISCLAIMER: Break & Schedule Change 🚨

(27.7.25)

I'm taking a break! After writing 1-2 chapters daily for four months on my first novel, I'm going to take some time for myself and prepare for vol 4. I'll be taking 1-2 weeks off starting now.

During this break, I'll be:

Planning and pre-writing chapters for vol 4

Occasionally writing chapters for my other series: "World Hopping Academy Representative" on Royal Road

THE WORLD:

The Material Plane: The main world we see and are in

The Spirit/Law World: Broken from mythological events, now partially merged with the Material Plane. This merging is why magical beings and materials exist here. Laws are maintained here.

The Sea of Mana: A layer unknown to most in this world containing mana, a foreign energy not native to this world's core systems. It can go into and interact with all layers but originates here and is where mages and swordsmen (not cultivator swordsmen) absorb it from.

More...?: Hamar has heard of another layer but has a very limited knowledge on this layer; you will learn about it as Hamar does.

CULTIVATION: Laws and Spirit Stone (Soul)s

Cultivators manipulate laws (fragments of the infinite Dao, like Life, Blood, Sword (called daos, notice the non capital)) absorbed from the Spirit World with mental energy.

Spirit Stone Souls: Cultivators transform their soul into this Spirit Stone form in order to safely absorb and use laws. Without a Spirit Stone (Soul) laws might cause mutations or loss of control.

Mental Energy: Powers techniques by shaping intention to command laws.

Hamar's Anomaly: Hamar wields aura, energy drawn from the sea of mana. Normally, aura clashes with law-based cultivation, making it impossible to use techniques. Hamar bypasses this through his link to Hou's sealed body, allowing him to channel laws through Hou and not his own body/soul which is imbued with aura.

THE NINE CLOUDS SOVEREIGN SECT:

Ruled by nine Elders, each governing a domain and each having a unique moniker (starting with "Nine Clouds", e.g. Nine Clouds Purple Miasma, Nine Clouds Sword Master).

The Sect Leader is the strongest Elder, not an absolute ruler.

Hamar's Origin: He comes from the Sealed Solar Tomb within Nine Clouds Purple Miasma's domain. This tomb was isolated, making Hamar a complete outsider to the wider cultivation world and sect politics.

CHARACTERS:

Hou: The old main character of vol 1-3. Sealed by Xiao Ye, he fractured his consciousness and split them up. One part guards his sealed Celestial Law Amplifying Physique (location unknown), the second part in Hamar, and the last third within Jin.

Hamar: The new main character for volume 4 and above. A swordsman from the isolated Sealed Solar Tomb, wielding the foreign power of aura. He has one third of Hou's consciousness sealed within a dragon held together by "Celestial Ink" which causes the dragon to not be attacked by aura. He is technically a disciple of Nine Clouds Purple Miasma but as he mainly used aura he could not be taught any cultivation techniques by him.

Jin: Possesses one third of Hou's consciousness within a dragon of her own. She mainly focuses on the blood dao. She is regarded as a genius for her young age, having a strong understanding of blood. She is capable of using only blood laws in a myriad of techniques where the average person would have to use various laws.

Mo Huai (Nine Clouds Purple Miasma): An Elder and the teacher of Hou and Hamar.

Xiao Ye: She disguised herself as a civilian, even tricking an Elder, infiltrating the sect through Hou. She caused the event which got Hou sealed after realising her initial plan of killing the Sect Leader wouldn't work since she was struggling with Hou. She disappeared afterwards and cannot be found.
