Chapter 326 - chapter 124

He was now behind an enemy without a plan. Before they had time to think and react, he sunk his teeth into their neck.

'Anger!' he tried to push himself, he needed some sort of power, 'I can only hope it isn't helping like Happiness did!'

His mind went blank as his face tightened, his teeth continued to gouge flesh...Anger bubble to the surface it's explosive power erupted!

Hamar's mouth expanded, not only that, his whole body expanded. As it did, his teeth dragged flesh apart, tearing the figure's neck apart.

As Anger continued to bubble and erupt, Hamar's mind was still. Not in a sense of calm, but in a sense of absolute rage. Hamar, in his pursuit of anger, had channeled animalistic rage that consumed his thinking.

Flying back up, the figure who he had escaped the grapple of shot back upwards. They held their hand out, then pulled back as their partner's head popped off in a visceral display of power.

They pulled backwards and for once, they felt human, or they would have if Hamar was not consumed by rage.

Hamar looked down on them as he dropped their partner's cadaver carelessly. His eyes washed over with a flame of anger, then his body went into motion and like a gorilla matched towards the remaining figure.

Hamar's, now animalistic, arm swung at the figure and time seemingly froze– A spark of Fear ignited, quickly bursting to the forefront.

Their Fear turned to power in the mindscape as an aura eminated from their still body. Hamar stopped mid-swing, the Fear propelling a field of slowness. But as the Fear caused him to slow, his target moved and his Anger grew.

Hamar's flesh stretched as it became less and less human. His arms became as long as his body, the overall stance being twenty times his normal size.

Boom!

Hamar pushed through the field and began moving, but he was slow unlike the figure which could move nimbly. They ran out of Hamar's range and he fell back into the momentum of his previous state; instantly he fell to the ground and slammed down.

For a split second, the figure had thought they won and their fear dimmed until it roared back into full swing as Hamar jumped back up as if unharmed.

But it was not as simple as it seemed. Hamar swung and the figure dodged but soon after...he fell. Hamar shrunk back to his normal size and form, falling through the air unconscious.

Anger. He was Angry. Was. In the past.

Hamar awoke from his stupor as he fell down, his fall slowed by the Fear ability of the remaining figure. Before he recognized that danger though, he looked around, 'Did I win? Did one of them die?' he thought.

Empty. He felt empty, he remember attacking. He bit into their neck and then– while falling, he touched this temple. Shaking of his confusion, he kicked off the air. It was a peculiar thing, being able to fly for no apart reason other than that is how it is.

However it worked though, it did. He moved out of the direction of the enemy, he tried at least. The Fear ability cause him to move extremely slowly, gaining nothing while they only got closer and closer.

The remaining figure, they had felt Fear. That monstrous creature Hamar had became...now the Fear dipped and replaced came Excitement!

The Excitement ability manifested, the figure's 'eyes' dilated as it focused on Hamar's head. They were just out of reach of eachother, now falling at the same speed.

Black.

Hamar saw nothing. One moment he was falling, the other it was all gone. He opened his eyes–

To his surprise, the figure he had thought he killed was charging at him with a flame in their hands. Quickly he mobilised his Causality, "Flames can be blown out by a sudden gust, which happens to pass by now", he was back in the real world.

The figure responded, "Flames can be put out by the wind, but equally fuelled by it!" They spun Hamar's Cause to themselves.

Hamar dodged as best he could, the flame burning his skin gently on the left side. He looked at the figure, they were almost identical but he could tell this was the one he had bitten.

"INITIATE!"

The mindscape expanded, he instantly shot forward and tried to stoke his Curiosity!

They turned to the approaching Hamar, "Useless now. We understand what that was now, a mere mindscape, is that how you think you'll win? I admit it does damage but there's a fatal flaw."

They let Hamar approach closer then whispered something quietly, "END."

The mindscape collapsed and Hamar awoke back in his body, "The flames tire themselves out and I stop being on fire!" He awoke to the side hit by the fireball still alight, he quickly used Causality to fix it.

He opened his eyes and saw the other figure he had been fighting– the one that he saw before leaving, "Did I die?" He said aloud to that approaching figure.

They responded in a light raspy voice, "Possibly. I exploded your head but you stand. It appears the mindscape fight only affects the consciousness, the effects will be erratic I assume."

"I agree sister, it appears this True World has gained its Qualia; I suggest we negotiate."

"Negative. I don't believe that these hosts are friendly, we must eliminate then scheme to return again."

Hamar watched the two bickering, taking the advantage to listen in while thinking his own thoughts. His mind pulsed and he could feel his consciousness' strain.

"Anger, what happened? I bit the neck, and then next thing I know I awoke falling in the air with one of them gone, 'killed'."

"Anger, is it to do with that? Like a blind rage? Is that just the ability? I can't use Anger..." He thought back to when he had just awoken, to that feeling of emptiness, "I...*can't* use Anger" he realised.

He raised his thumb, keeping track of the figures' conversation still, and bit it while thinking.

"It uses emotions as power, it affects the consciousness directly, damage in the mindscape is damage to the consciousness, the effect is erratic one of them said...perhaps emotions are limited, it makes sense, power can't be infinite or a mindscape battle would last forever...but is the Qualia (that's what they called the power) that equal?"
