Chapter 331 - chapter 128

Hou furrowed his brows, the boy was weird. When he looked at the figures or Zhou Tian he at least felt *something* but him...

Nothing. It was just as if he was staring at a mortal.

"Who are you?" He questioned. But as the words escaped his mouth, the figures shot out with Causality ready.

"You!" They shouted in unison, the boy was not afraid however...

"Hou, listen to me." The boy turned to face Hou's face, looking into his eyes.

Hou wavered, he was finding a certain logic in their words, maybe they were right. Maybe whoever this person is, maybe it's best for everyone; a sacrifice for the greater good.

But then a spark of determination was ignored, 'No! I saved him for a reason, I should hear him out.'

He held out his hand and flamboyantly used his Causality, "All attacks are diverted." He used it without a cause, the cause was the Causality, it was expensive but extremely effective.

"I listened to you. If you want to even have a chance at me working with you, you need to let me hear him out."

"You do not understand, young one. He is an anomaly. He has destroyed worlds for naught a purpose." The figures stopped attacking but continued to stare at the boy, despite the lack of features Hou could tell where they looked.

Hou glared at the boy, "..." He wanted to speak but instead he took a deep breath, and instead turned to the figures, "I understand. I'm someone special right? I have a World under my control, that gives me the authority to listen, right?"

"..." The figures stayed silent for a few moments, "We will allow it, but any sign of resistance...we will consider you an enemy and continue our assault, don't forget you have people in this world you care about."

Hou shook his head, "You can't scare me like that, Hamar wouldn't be so easy to stop. He'll protect them."

***

Hamar listened to the figures explanation, that the False World had hurt the main world it was born it...that to let it live means to endanger those nearby.

He chuckled, subtly at first, then laughed, then bellowed.

"Ha ha ha ha" his voice was deep and understanding. Hamar pulled out his sword, "No." Suddenly his face became serious.

He walked slowly in the air towards the two figures, "You have a misconception..."

***

The boy started to explain, he recounted his speech that he had spoken to Araxis. About the importance of those in the False World.

Preaching about the preciousness of all life and the dislike for the cowardice of *them*. That they shouldn't need to kill people to live, we should fight back.

He proclaimed that if they worked together, they could kill a Devourer of Worlds...

***

"I don't care." Hamar shot forward, he used Causality to bring back his Aura in his new True World. It was a power not of this world but with Causality he could bring it back.

Swiping at one of their necks, "I understand you."

They whispered into the Causality, Hamar's slice was blocked. He bounced of them, "I know you think you're in the right."

More Aura, swinging in a circle. He brought up the movement of a dragon, a spectral dragon appeared behind him, with Causality it became 'real'.

They tried to fight back, they summoned up Causality. Hamar swung down, the dragon continuing down.

It passed through their bodies, "I might've agreed with you earlier in my life..." Hamar shouted and while the bright Aura and dragon distracted the figures he came close, placing his physical sword against their necks.

He cut through it, "But now–"

Their head separated, but they did not die, "Don't think you can kill us so easily." They taunted.

He burst with strength, "INITIATE" under his breath, "Now I have changed."

Entering the mindscape, Hamar sliced again at the now-reattached head of the figure he brought I to the mindscape.

"BRE–" they screamed out, trying to break the mindscape before they were hit.

They were too late.

Back in reality, Hamar's body returned from being limp, "Sacrifice like that is for the weak."

The figure he had killed in the mindscape bent down, their consciousness fractured for a moment. He had felt it before, for a moment after exiting your mind would need to recover.

In that time, he turned to the remaining figure, "Now, I am strong."

INITIATE.

In the mindscape, he launched another quick attack. Not only with his sword that had come with him, but the emotions that kept in his mind was something special...

Hope. Hope kept him flying straight, kept him strong and unable to be erred.

***

Hou nodded, he chuckled too. All this time, he felt his Causality reserves. He was intertwined with this World along with Hamar.

He could sense that Hamar was using the Causality heavily, "Ha ha ha," he pinched his brows, "ever the brute..."

Hou put a hand on the boy's shoulders, "Stand back." He said quietly.

He looked to the figures, they looked back anxiously, be thought. He couldn't always tell what they were thinking, it was mostly his intuition that told him that; their features blurry.

"I have heard both of you," he took a deep breath before continuing, "And I understand both of you."

He looked back to the boy, "But one of you," he looked back to the figures, "Has got the more appealing option."

With his hand outstretched, he spoke steadily, "I hope you understand."

The boy watched in with a smile, behind his back the sky rippled. He was ready to escape, with his ability he could enter and exit a world freely through the rippling space.

***

"I'll bet on people every time!" Hamar sliced again, initiating a mindscape just to close it instantly. Their close quarters allowing him to attack before they can even have time to break it.

Each time, their consciousness breaks more and he gains the upper hand until–

They broke. At a certain point, the consciousness fractured in a way that doesn't make it easier, but actually more dangerous. Thinking becomes abnormal and emotions become strong and erratic.

Like a wild animal, they are let loose.
