Chapter 69. End of battle.
"Huh? Where did they go?" Thor stared blankly at the spot where they had just vanished. Bewildered, he quickly turned around, searching for any sign of Felix or Hulk—but they were nowhere to be found.
"They're not on the ground, then they must be in the sky!" Tony, being sharper than Thor, immediately realized something. Since Felix and Hulk hadn't reappeared on the ground, they had to be above them. His eyes scanned the skies.
He didn't see them either, but he was certain they were up there. He understood his own limitations—as an ordinary human, he couldn't see that far into the sky.
Just as Tony expected, only a few seconds passed before a bright, meteor-like light streaked across the sky. It grew clearer and clearer, hurtling toward the earth at an astonishing speed.
Felix had taken Hulk tens of thousands of meters into the sky. He remembered that the Hulk would usually revert to Banner when dropped from such a height. This was his plan all along.
Originally, Felix intended to teleport Hulk up into the sky and just let him fall freely, allowing gravity to do the rest. But something unexpected happened.
Even though –Hulk was in free fall as planned, his descent wasn't nearly fast enough. He wasn't even breaking the sound barrier! Compared to Felix's own flying speed, Hulk was sluggish.
"Is falling at that speed even going to do anything?" Felix frowned, clearly dissatisfied. Hulk was still accelerating, but far too slowly for his taste.
If Hulk knew what Felix was thinking, he'd probably scream in frustration. Not fast? How much faster do you want me to fall?!
"It seems I need to give him a little push," Felix muttered.
With that, he took action. Activating his flight ability, he instantly broke through the sound barrier and shot toward the ground, catching up to Hulk in the blink of an eye.
Once he reached him, Felix extended both hands, grabbed Hulk mid-air, and then accelerated once more—this time propelling Hulk downward like a missile.
How fast was Felix flying? Fast enough to push Hulk to several times the speed of sound. In just ten seconds, they went from tens of thousands of meters in the air to less than a hundred meters from the ground—and that was with Felix holding back!
Meanwhile, Hulk was in agony. His body, gripped tightly by Felix, couldn't move. The air resistance at that speed caused the skin on his back to heat up to several hundred degrees. It felt like he was being scorched alive.
Thankfully, Hulk had thick skin and dense muscle. Any ordinary human or animal would have been cooked through by now.
"Thank you for using the Felix Express Booster! We hope you fly with us again," Felix said sarcastically, knowing full well Hulk couldn't respond.
"If Hulk could understand that," he might have been roaring, "To hell with you and your express booster!"
"Now go!" When they were less than a hundred metre from the ground, Felix gave Hulk one final shove and released him, stopping mid-air himself and floating there silently, waiting to see the outcome of Hulk's crash landing.
"Hey, Felix, where did they go? Why did they suddenly vanish? You saw them… lying down!" At that moment, Thor spun in place, confused and unable to find any trace of Felix or Hulk. Perplexed, he instinctively glanced toward Tony and the others, hoping they might've seen something.
But before he could even speak, he noticed Tony and the rest were all staring upwards toward the sky. Curious, Thor looked up as well.
The moment his eyes met the sky, his expression changed drastically. Without thinking, he shouted aloud and immediately broke into a sprint, dashing to the side.
He had no choice but to run. What he saw in the sky was Hulk's enormous body growing larger and larger in his view—rapidly falling toward the ground. Thor froze for just a second before reacting with instinctual urgency, fleeing to avoid being crushed by the incoming green meteor.
Unfortunately, it was already too late. That very moment was when Felix had released Hulk after giving him the final boost.
Hulk was now plummeting at nearly three –to four times the speed of sound. At a height of less than one kilometer, it would take him less than a second to reach the ground.
Even with Thor's impressive speed and battle reflexes, he managed to move only about ten meters before the impact. That was the best he could manage under such short notice, barely avoiding getting flattened.
BOOM!
BANG!
A deafening explosion shook the Colosseum. The impact truly resembled a meteor strike. Hulk's green skin was now slightly red from the intense friction with the air. He looked like a blazing meteor being pulled down by Earth's gravity, smashing into the ground at breakneck speed.
Upon impact, the ground cracked violently. A massive crater—over a hundred meters wide and tens of meters deep—formed in an instant. A shockwave rippled outward like a tidal wave.
Shards of stone exploded upward, reaching heights of several dozen meters, while spiderweb-like cracks spread out in all directions.
The circular shockwave, visible even to the naked eye, blasted out across the arena. –Thor, who hadn't escaped far enough, was immediately swept up like a leaf in a storm. He was lifted off his feet and thrown back through the air.
"FELIX! YOU TOTALLY DID THAT ON PURPOSE!"
Even as he tumbled through the air, Thor shouted angrily, cursing Felix.
He had finally realized what happened—Felix must have aimed Hulk directly at him on purpose. After all, the Colosseum was several square kilometers wide. Of all places Hulk could've landed, he landed right where Thor had been standing.
Thor's body flew several hundred meters before crashing to the ground. After tumbling across the dirt, he finally came to a stop, dizzy and breathless.
He felt nauseous, like he'd just stepped off a wild rollercoaster. He nearly threw up.
Meanwhile, Tony and the others in the stands fared much better. Though they were also hit by the shockwave, it was far less intense by the time it reached them—more like a violent gale than a physical blow. Unlike Thor, they managed to stay on their feet.
"Still didn't turn back into Banner? Looks like I'll need to use my final trick." Felix floated calmly in mid-air, watching the destruction unfold beneath him. The smoke from the impact still billowed, and the circular shockwave had not yet fully dissipated.
He wasn't at all concerned about Thor or the others. Yes, Felix had intentionally directed Hulk toward Thor. After all, Thor had attacked him earlier. Felix didn't say anything at the time—but he was someone who never forgot a grudge, even if it was just a petty one.
Still, he'd held back enough that Thor wouldn't be hurt—just embarrassed.
"Hmph… my clothes!" While Felix was quietly enjoying Thor's misfortune, he suddenly felt a warm sensation on his skin. Looking down, he realized flames were flickering along the fabric of his clothes. Apparently, the speed had caused the temperature to rise too high, igniting the material.
"Damn it… looks like I really need to get some vibranium armor soon!" Muttering to himself, Felix vanished for an instant. When he reappeared a second later, his clothes were pristine—no sign of burning at all.
About a minute passed before the dust finally settled. The smoke cleared, revealing a massive bowl-shaped crater nearly 100 meters wide. At its center lay a man—clothes in tatters—lying motionless.
"Oh good. No need for my final move after all." Felix breathed a sigh of relief. Hulk had reverted back to human form—Dr. Bruce Banner was lying unconscious in the crater, having finally returned to normal.
Felix's body blinked out of the sky and reappeared beside the pit.
Looking around at the shattered terrain—scattered rocks and uneven ground—Felix frowned. It was a mess.
He raised his hands and waved through the air. Instantly, the ground began to shift and repair itself. The crater began to shrink, the rocks flew back into place, and within moments, the entire area looked untouched—completely restored.
Not even a trace of the destruction remained.
"Dimensional space magic really is incredible…" Felix admired the result with satisfaction. This new mastery over spatial magic had reached fantasy-levels of manipulation—he could reshape the world around him at will.
Then, remembering the others still in the distance, he gave one final wave of his hand.
