"Hello again, Urahara Kisuke, Yoruichi… Harribel."
Su Xiuyu reappeared just as suddenly as he had vanished. Harribel, who had remained composed through most of the ordeal, felt a rare pang of emotion. The moment she saw him, she rushed forward and hugged him tightly.
Su Xiuyu blinked in surprise. Harribel had always been calm—unshakably so. For her to express this much worry meant something had changed within her.
He gently patted her back, feeling the pressure of her embrace.
"Easy, now," he whispered. "I promised I'd return—and here I am, right on time."
What caught everyone's eye next wasn't the reunion—but Su Xiuyu's new appearance.
Now clad in a white robe, he carried both a sword and a massive battle axe strapped to his back. The axe was exaggerated in size, almost comically large, and completely out of step with his usually elegant fighting style.
"Spatial ability?" Urahara muttered. "What did you do to bypass my barrier? This underground chamber is protected by Tessai's layered seals..."
"As I mentioned before," Su Xiuyu said casually, "I know a little something about space manipulation."
Urahara's instincts screamed caution—but it was too late to back down now.
"Fine," he relented. "Let's begin. All you need to do is pick someone—me or Yoruichi—to separate your soul from your body."
Su Xiuyu looked at Kisuke, then turned to Yoruichi. "Yeah, not trusting him with that job."
He pointed at her. "You're up."
"Great. Let's just hope I don't end up turning you into a Hollow by mistake," she replied dryly.
"Before we start," Su Xiuyu said, "I'm going to reinforce the area. Can't have any spiritual hiccups blowing a hole in your little underground workshop."
"Wood Release: Clone Technique!"
Suddenly, four identical copies of Su Xiuyu split off from his body. The room was instantly filled with his chakra-laced energy as the clones moved into position.
"What the hell is this?" Yoruichi muttered. "Fancy clone ninjutsu now?"
The four clones stood at the cardinal points and slammed their palms down simultaneously.
"Four Red Yang Formation."
A blazing crimson barrier shimmered to life, encasing the entire chamber in a dome of radiant spiritual energy. The air inside crackled with pressure.
Urahara's jaw tightened. "You call this a small trick?"
Su Xiuyu merely smiled. "Just being cautious."
After some tense preparations, they arrived at the final moment.
"Ready?" Yoruichi asked, slipping on the soul-separation glove.
"Go ahead," Su Xiuyu nodded.
Without hesitation, Yoruichi struck him in the chest. In a flash of energy, Su Xiuyu's soul left his physical body, and he hovered above the ground in his spirit form.
This wasn't the first time Su Xiuyu had left his body—he'd used Kamar-Taj techniques before—but this time was different.
For the first time, he could see it: the Chain of Fate, glowing and pulsing like a heartbeat.
Yoruichi unsheathed a short blade—her rarely used Zanpakutō. With a swift motion, she sliced through the chain.
It was done.
That was as far as she and Kisuke could go. What happened next would be up to Su Xiuyu.
"Aren't you nervous?" Yoruichi asked. "If you fail… you'll become a Hollow."
Su Xiuyu, floating in spiritual form, gave a calm shrug.
"Not at all. I won't fail. Even if I fall into Hueco Mundo, I'll claw my way out. Life has many forms. But I—I have absolute faith in myself."
He ignored the system prompts flashing in the corners of his consciousness and focused instead on the process.
Kisuke's eyes narrowed. "Wait… something's wrong. The erosion rate of his chain—it's accelerating."
Yoruichi frowned. "What?"
"It's already twice the normal speed—and rising!" Kisuke snapped, alarmed. "If this continues, he'll be facing the final transformation in less than half a day!"
This level of erosion was unprecedented. Even Urahara, with all his knowledge of Hollowfication, had never seen a chain decay this fast.
"It's fine," Su Xiuyu said, his eyes closed. "It feels like... once I cast off my human bindings, this world is finally starting to accept me."
He quieted his breathing and opened his senses—diving deep into the spiritual fabric of the world.
---
Meanwhile, in the Soul King Palace…
Far above the mortal realm, a member of the Hyoja Division stirred.
He had just felt a ripple—an ancient echo from the Spirit King himself.
Which was impossible.
The Spirit King was little more than a husk, acting solely on instinct. But still... something had reached him. Something foreign.
And yet, Ichibē Hyōsube, head of the Division, remained unmoved.
So long as the Spirit King remained intact and the Three Realms stable, Ichibē saw no reason to act. He didn't yet realize that a new anomaly had entered the equation.
---
Back in Karakura Town…
Kisuke monitored Su Xiuyu's chain, sweat beading on his brow.
"It's almost done," he whispered. "This erosion rate… it's absurd. Most souls would be completely destroyed by now."
"Should we be worried?" Yoruichi asked.
"We should be ready," Kisuke said, tightening his grip on his cane. "If he Hollowfies… it's not going to be ordinary. It'll be catastrophic."
"Please," Yoruichi scoffed. "You're acting like he's going to erupt."
"I'm serious, Yoruichi. If he goes Hollow, we might not survive it. Everyone—stay alert!"
---
Inside Su Xiuyu's inner world, the red Soul Vein of the Shinigami finally appeared before him.
But there was a problem.
He couldn't sense a Zanpakutō.
No voice. No spirit. Nothing.
"Is it because I'm not from this world?" he muttered. "Or maybe Ōetsu Nimaiya—the one who forges Zanpakutō—refuses to acknowledge me?"
He stood alone in the spiritual void, isolated… but not defeated.
"No matter. I don't need their blade."
His voice rose.
"I have my own."
He reached out—and from the sky above, something ancient descended.
The Pangu Battle Axe, a titanic weapon from his world, crashed into the ground like a meteor, splitting the sky. The spiritual landscape shattered—only the axe remained, glowing with primordial energy.
"From now on, you're my partner," Su Xiuyu said, placing a hand on the weapon's hilt. "Let's tear down fate together."
---
In the physical world, the final link of Su Xiuyu's Chain of Fate vanished.
And then—
BOOM.
Spiritual pressure exploded outward like a hurricane.
Everyone in the chamber—Yoruichi, Urahara, Tessai, and even Harribel—was forced to the ground, pinned beneath the weight of raw, unfiltered power.
The air itself distorted. The Four Red Yang Formation groaned under the strain.
It wasn't just pressure. It was like gravity had tripled. Their bones creaked. Breathing became difficult.
Yoruichi, coughing, tried to stand—and failed.
"What kind of monster is this?!"
"What have we unleashed?" Kisuke choked out.
He had feared the worst… but never imagined it would feel like this.
-------------
The surge of spiritual pressure pouring off Su Xiuyu defied all reason.
Urahara Kisuke and Yoruichi were seasoned veterans, having stood before monsters like Shunsui Kyōraku and even Yamamoto. But what they were sensing now was something else entirely—raw, uncontrolled, and otherworldly. Even Tessai, with all his mastery of Kidō, found himself slightly shaken.
It was as if a freak of nature had suddenly been born into the world.
"Cut your spiritual pressure—now!" Urahara shouted, eyes darting to the cracking edges of the barrier. "You're going to tear the seal apart!"
Fortunately, Su Xiuyu complied almost instantly. With a breath, he retracted his pressure, collapsing the tide of energy into himself. The barrier stopped trembling. The underground chamber held.
"Well, that was intense," Su Xiuyu said, rolling his shoulders. "Feels pretty amazing, not gonna lie. Though honestly, it's still not as convenient as just using my body directly."
He was getting used to the new flow of power. His soul felt sharper, more refined—but not unfamiliar.
Kisuke adjusted his hat. "You've only just become a Shinigami. Your soul pressure should be unstable, maybe even weak. But this… this is terrifying. What are you made of?"
It was blunt—borderline rude—but Kisuke couldn't help it. His scientific mind was screaming for answers. The last time something this unnatural had happened under his watch, he'd created the Visoreds… and that still haunted him.
Now, here stood a human—not a Hollow, not a Soul Reaper—a human, who had just become a Shinigami and was already stronger than he was.
"Why is my spiritual pressure so high?" Su Xiuyu repeated the question, arching an eyebrow. "It's called talent. When I was human, I was strong. Now my soul's just following suit. What's so weird about that?"
To Su Xiuyu, the comparison was simple. His chakra had always been vast, like a boundless ocean. In contrast, his spiritual pressure—even now—felt like the Amazon River. Powerful, sure. But still a tributary of his greater power.
After decades of being a ninja, this was just a new flavor of strength.
Kisuke, thoroughly roasted by that reply, went silent. The implications were staggering.
Su Xiuyu walked over to his physical body and re-entered it with practiced ease. His soul and body fused seamlessly. This wasn't like a typical Shinigami, who left behind a Gigai—Su Xiuyu's living body was his vessel.
And now, it housed something even greater.
With a call, the Pangu Battle Axe appeared in his hand, humming with spiritual resonance. Compared to its early state—a newborn consciousness hidden within steel—the weapon now felt alive. Radiant. Awakened.
"Is… that your Zanpakutō?" Yoruichi asked, eyeing the massive axe warily. "I've never seen one shaped like that. A battle axe? Really?"
She remembered clearly—it was the same weapon Su Xiuyu carried when they first met.
"Beats me," Su Xiuyu said casually. "I've only been a Shinigami for a few minutes. Shouldn't you be the expert here? Can a Shinigami not have a Zanpakutō?"
"Impossible," Yoruichi replied, arms crossed. "Zanpakutō are the embodiment of a Shinigami's soul. If you didn't have one, you wouldn't have become a Soul Reaper at all. It's a contradiction."
"Then maybe this axe is my version of a Zanpakutō." Su Xiuyu shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just weird."
She had no rebuttal. He was definitely weird.
Then Su Xiuyu turned to them with an expression that meant business.
"Now that I've fulfilled my end of the deal… how about a new one?"
Urahara's eyes narrowed.
"I want to learn Kidō," Su Xiuyu said plainly. "All of it. If someone's willing to teach me, I'll offer help in return—on anything you can't handle yourselves. As you've seen, I'm more than capable."
Yoruichi looked intrigued.
Urahara looked alarmed.
The two of them simultaneously turned toward Tessai, the former Grand Kidō Chief of Soul Society.
If there was anyone suited to teach the way of Kido, it was him.
But Tessai shook his head without hesitation.
"Mr. Su Xiuyu, I'm sorry. The Way of Kido is sacred. It cannot be taught freely. These techniques are not meant to be shared outside Soul Society."
Though exiled, Tessai still held deep loyalty to the laws and principles of his homeland. Even if wronged, he remained a man of honor.
Su Xiuyu didn't argue. Instead, he walked forward—then, with a wave of his hand, tore open a tear in space and stepped outside the barrier without disturbing its stability.
He then walked back inside.
Tessai's jaw clenched. Kisuke and Yoruichi stared, speechless.
"I could also teach you about space and time manipulation, if you're interested."
Tessai froze.
What Su Xiuyu had done just now wasn't just teleportation. It was complete spatial bypass—with precision, elegance, and zero disruption.
Soul Society had spatial techniques. Tessai himself was a master. But what Su Xiuyu had just performed made those techniques look primitive in comparison.
"...Deal," Tessai said immediately.
Urahara coughed in shock. "Tessai!"
"Don't look at me like that," Tessai said, adjusting his glasses. "This man's understanding of space is unlike anything I've ever seen. I must learn from him."
Yoruichi raised an eyebrow. "Wow. Didn't expect you to fold that quickly."
"Fold?" Tessai shot her a look. "You just watched him break my barrier system without even touching it. Do you think I could do that?"
Su Xiuyu smiled. "Glad to see we're on the same page."
Now that the agreement was struck, he had what he needed—access to high-level Kidō.
Tessai, in turn, had gained something rarer: insight into a spatial system that defied the conventional laws of the Soul Society.
