Chapter 49 - Chapter 49: The Vampire Legion

The air was thick with tension as the "Great Demon" himself addressed the assembly. Evans, already informed of the situation, could no longer suppress his boiling anger. The "Lord" and Elder Arnold had placed immense trust in him, entrusting him with full authority over all affairs of the "Cross of Ordination." Such an honor! Yet, he had been deceived, allowing a malicious "spy" to infiltrate their ranks. He had utterly failed in his responsibilities—a profound humiliation.

Beyond Evans' self-reproach and fury, the thirteen "senior members" displayed varied expressions. Within seconds, an instinctive divide led them to cast their gazes toward the "ordinary members."

In the corner, Constantine drew a sharp breath. Could it be that a "supernatural entity" from the "Hidden World" had truly descended into the present realm? It shouldn't be possible; there should be several "Silent Hunters" in London recently. Which "evil spirit" would dare such audacity?

The silver ring projected a spiritual body, albeit only a fraction of its true power. In actual combat, its strength paled compared to its physical form. However, in scenarios like this "public revelation," it was ideal for creating an aura of mystique.

After all, the external appearance often leaves the most profound first impression. A grotesque, terrifyingly large spiritual entity is far more captivating than an unremarkable "ordinary person."

Even Constantine, a professional investigator from "Scotland Yard," couldn't detect any anomalies.

As silence enveloped the hall, Lorien subtly activated "Environmental Perception," his spiritual energy enhancing the menacing presence of his crimson apparition.

The grayish-white "veil" lifted, rendering everything before him with unparalleled clarity.

Amidst the dim glows of spirituality, one vibrant purple light stood out conspicuously.

Found you... and without any disguise?

No, in my spiritual form, the effectiveness of "Environmental Perception" seems even greater than in my physical body. "Scotland Yard" doesn't seem to take the current "Cross of Ordination" too seriously, likely sending someone of average skill, making it easy for me to see through the disguise...

Constantine sensed the "Vampire King's" gaze briefly sweep over him, cold sweat forming on his back. He nearly succumbed to the urge to flee immediately.

No, this is their stronghold. If I reveal any abnormality, I'll surely be besieged. Besides that "Blood Ordaining Priest," I've seen at least two others with special abilities in the past couple of days. There are likely more hidden in the shadows...

Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to remain calm, relieved as the oppressive gaze moved on.

He didn't notice me?

Constantine watched in surprise as the "Vampire King" continued to deliver his "divine message" to his followers.

"Among you, there are those who do not fully believe in me, those who are devout to me, and those who intend to betray me... However, I shall forgive your 'sins.'"

Lorien raised his hand gently, and shadowy tendrils emerged from the surrounding darkness, each holding a vial of ordinary blood prepared by Arnold.

"By drinking the 'Holy Blood,' you shall become my 'disciples,' your souls elevated, ascending to the 'extraordinary,' and serving as 'Blood Receivers' in the service of the night and blood."

Following Lorien's prearranged plan, Evans stepped forward and announced coldly:

"Edwards, Sorkin, Brendan, Gloria... step forward."

He called out the names of the thirteen "senior members," among them only one woman, Gloria.

Lorien condensed his spiritual form into a tall, slender figure. Shadows coalesced into his robes and cloak, trailing behind him in silent motion.

The thirteen individuals, intimidated by his terrifying presence, clenched their teeth and stepped forward.

Some words were better left unsaid by him, so Evans took over.

"You thirteen have proven your loyalty and capability, and you shall be the second group to drink the 'Holy Blood.'" Evans stated coldly, "This is an order, not a request."

"Allow me to go first, Priest!" Gloria volunteered immediately.

Evans turned to seek the "Demon's" approval. Seeing Lorien nod indifferently, he handed the first vial of "Holy Blood" to Gloria.

"Drink it."

The other twelve watched with eager anticipation as Gloria drank the "Holy Blood." Her body began to transform, growing taller as the power of the "vampire" coursed through her veins, reshaping her frail human form.

She bit her lip, her pupils tinged with crimson as her "spirituality" rapidly expanded. Both her body and soul underwent a profound metamorphosis under the influence of the "vampire" blood.

Compared to the previous ceremony, Arnold's increased strength meant the "vampire" blood he provided was more potent.

Having completed her transformation from ordinary human to "Blood Receiver," Gloria felt the surging power within her, tears of blood streaming down her cheeks as her faith deepened.

"Next."
