Chapter 230 - Chapter 230: World-Ending Thunder Punishment

Destroying Enies Lobby was Bege's second objective for this trip. The deaths of Riki, Sam, and the others were a thorn in his heart, a constant, piercing pain.

Bege had just conquered a vast new territory and had not yet fully consolidated his power. There were many matters to attend to. Moreover, his duel with Kaido was fast approaching. He simply didn't have the time, nor would he choose such a critical moment, to go against the Marines and the World Government.

But finding Jessica was an absolute necessity. He had to come. And since he was here, it wasn't his style to do nothing.

"I've been wanting to get revenge for Brother Riki and Brother Sam for a long time," Wiper said, his face also clouded with killing intent.

"Go and prepare to destroy Enies Lobby," Bege said to Wiper. Wiper nodded and left with the men.

Bege's gaze fell on Spandine, who was so terrified he didn't dare to meet his eyes.

"Spandine, there must be a secret vault on Enies Lobby where treasures are stored, right? Like Devil Fruits," Bege said nonchalantly.

"Yes, yes, yes! I'll take you there! I only ask that you spare my worthless life!" Spandine said in a panic, terrified that even a moment's hesitation would get him killed.

"Point the way."

An invisible hand seized Spandine, and Bege took him away from the prison at high speed.

Wiper and the other men quickly returned to the Sky God. Wiper stood at the ship's railing, lightning raging around his body. A terrifying beam of electricity shot into the sky, and instantly, thunderclouds began to gather, rumbling like a tidal wave as lightning crackled within them.

On Enies Lobby, Enel looked up at the roiling thunderclouds and knew immediately that Jessica had been found.

"Back to the Sky God!" Enel roared. He was the first to shoot into the sky as a bolt of lightning, and the remaining men followed on their Wavers.

Enel landed swiftly on the deck. He raised his hands to the sky, and lightning shot from them into the clouds above. The lightning within the thunderclouds grew even more terrifying, with massive bolts, thick as pythons, writhing inside.

Under Spandine's guidance, they returned to the Tower of Justice. The island's treasury was, naturally, under the protection of CP9.

The vault was located in a secret underground chamber in the Tower of Justice. It was incredibly sturdy, cast from steel, with three overlapping iron doors that were a full six meters thick. Between each door were massive directional explosives. Any attempt to force the doors would inevitably trigger the bombs, and the resulting blast would blow the intruder to smithereens.

As the supreme commander of CP9, Spandine naturally had the keys and opened the vault with ease.

The secret chamber was enormous. The first thing that caught the eye were mountains of Berries—a truly colossal fortune.

Next to the piles of Berries were chests filled with gold and other treasures.

This was the military payroll, used to pay the salaries of the ten thousand soldiers and World Government staff on the island.

The payroll for ten thousand people... one could only imagine how staggering the amount of wealth was.

A smile appeared on Bege's cold face. His external domain opened up, and the mountains of Berries and chests of gold and treasure all shrank and flew into his body-castle.

The rest of the contents were various types of documents: files on criminal pirates, intelligence gathered by CP9, and records of their missions. There was a vast and varied collection.

Bege took them all, leaving nothing behind.

The only disappointment was that he didn't find any Devil Fruits. Spandine also told him that there were no Devil Fruits on Enies Lobby.

As Bege turned to leave, he glanced at Spandine. The man was so frightened he fell to his knees, kowtowing and begging for his life.

"Lord Demon Dragon, you said you would spare my worthless life!"

A cold sneer played on Bege's lips. He ignored him and walked away.

A useless scourge like Spandine was more valuable to him alive, where he could continue to be a plague upon the World Government and the Marines, than dead.

After Bege had left completely, Spandine let out a sigh of relief and collapsed to the ground, his body limp.

Above Enies Lobby, the thunderclouds roiled, blotting out the sun. Thunder and lightning flashed within the endless black clouds, which hung so low they seemed about to crush the island.

Bege walked on air, the space in front of him constantly hardening to form steps. He moved as easily as if he were walking on solid ground, returning to the Sky God.

"Enel, Wiper, you can begin," Bege said, his voice low and his gaze cold as he looked down at the island below.

"Alright! Wiper, let's start!" Enel said, two bolts of lightning shooting from his eyes.

The two of them roared in unison.

"World-Ending Thunder Punishment!"

BOOM!

A massive clap of thunder, loud enough to shake the heavens and the earth, erupted from the thunderclouds.

Then, terrifying bolts of azure lightning tore through the clouds, raining down indiscriminately. The sky-full of lightning smashed into Enies Lobby. Buildings were shattered, the ground was cracked open, and countless arcs of electricity filled the air.

Buildings collapsed, the earth fractured, and arcs of electricity spread everywhere, striking down the soldiers on the island one by one.

Wails, screams... everything was drowned out by the thunder.

The storm of lightning lasted for a full three minutes. Enies Lobby was struck by several massive pillars of lightning and began to crack and collapse.

"Time for a big one! Five Hundred Million Volts: Thunder Dragon!" Enel roared. From within the thunderclouds, a massive, azure thunder dragon formed. It roared and dove down into Enies Lobby, smashing into the shattered ground. With a deafening boom, the entire island trembled and broke apart.

"Thunder Lizard!" Not to be outdone, Wiper formed a massive thunder lizard of his own, which also dove down, shattering the island even further.

Enel and Wiper were panting heavily. Those attacks had been their most powerful. They looked down at the disintegrating island, smiles on their faces.

Enies Lobby was breaking into pieces, beginning to sink into the sea.

The once prosperous and majestic seat of judgment, a symbol of the World Government, was now buried in a sea of lightning.

Not far from Enies Lobby, a speedboat was rapidly approaching. It had shot out from the port of the Gates of Justice. Three figures stood on the boat: Sengoku, Garp, and Kizaru.

This time, Fleet Admiral "the Buddha" Sengoku had put aside his status and come in person, determined to capture Bege.

They saw the thunderclouds hanging over Enies Lobby, the pillars of lightning constantly falling, and watched with their own eyes as the island broke apart and sank.

The faces of all three men were ashen.

"I'll go on ahead and stop Capone Bege," Kizaru said, transforming into a flash of light and shooting toward the sky, streaking toward the island like a meteor.

Garp and Sengoku both used Soru to launch themselves into the air, following close behind at an astonishing speed.

Standing at the prow of his ship, Bege's eyes suddenly narrowed. His Observation Haki covered the entire island, and just a moment ago, he had sensed three powerful presences approaching at high speed.

Two of them should be Kizaru and Garp. The other one is also familiar... it seems to be "the Buddha" Sengoku. He came in person. Bege thought. He had fought all three of them before and could still remember their auras.

"Sky God, retreat at full speed!" Bege ordered.

The Sky God immediately turned around. The Wind Dials and Exhaust Dials were all activated, and a powerful gale pushed the ship rapidly away from Enies Lobby.
