Chapter 249 - Chapter 249: Kill Sugar First

"Everyone, inside."

With a flick of his finger, Bellamy shot down a prying gaze. He wasn't afraid of causing a commotion; he was planning to launch his attack tonight anyway.

"Captain!"

"Bellamy!"

The moment Bellamy arrived, everyone couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. After holding back for so long, it was finally time to begin!

"You're Viola?"

Bellamy sized up the woman. As expected of a princess, she was not only beautiful but also possessed an exceptionally distinguished air. Viola had long, brown-black hair, beautiful light-brown eyes, and an elegant flower adorning her head. She was tall and slender, and the flamenco dress she wore made her look as if she could start dancing at any moment.

"Lord Bellamy, I've long heard of your great name!"

Upon seeing Bellamy, Viola couldn't help but feel excited as well.

"Good. Now, use your ability and help me find Mansherry!"

Viola had already seen Bellamy's entire plan with her ability. She had located Mansherry during the time they were waiting. Nevertheless, she followed Bellamy's order, reactivated her ability, and put on a show of searching.

"Lord Bellamy, please wait a moment."

Viola's deliberate act of hiding her full capabilities was to allay any wariness Bellamy might have towards her. She knew all too well how terrifying the power to read minds was. Bellamy's reputation in this world had nothing to do with being a good person. She didn't want to escape Doflamingo's clutches only to fall into Bellamy's.

Fortunately, she had secretly peeked into Bellamy's mind just now and hadn't seen any ill intentions towards her. Bellamy's inner world at this moment was like an active volcano on the verge of eruption. Viola took one look and was immediately repelled by the blazing fighting spirit.

"This is a battle maniac."

With just one glance, she had the most direct understanding of this man. "No wonder they call him 'Mad Dog'!" Viola muttered to herself.

"Ah, I've found her."

"Lord Bellamy, Mansherry is being held in a secret room in the lowest level of the royal palace."

"It would be very dangerous to try and sneak in to rescue her," she said, though she knew very well that Bellamy had no intention of rescuing her immediately.

Bellamy glanced at the woman, feeling that her performance was a bit strange.

"No rush. Ross, take your men and rescue all the Tontatta from the factories."

"Drake, Law, you and Viola will go and find Sugar. Kill her!"

The Riku family had ruled this country for hundreds of years; how could they have fallen so easily? It was because all the resistance fighters had been turned into toys by Sugar, the user of the Hobby-Hobby Fruit under Doflamingo's command. The terrifying ability of the Hobby-Hobby Fruit was that once someone was turned into a toy, all memory of that person would be erased from everyone else's minds. It was because of this ability that the country had remained so peaceful. Forget a resistance army; there were barely even any troublemakers.

However, the moment the user of the Hobby-Hobby Fruit died, the fruit's curse would be broken. The toys would return to their original forms, and all the lost memories of them would be restored. The number of people turned into toys over the past nine years was not small. Once they were all restored, the Donquixote Family's rule would be instantly shattered.

But this alone was not enough to defeat Doflamingo. The one who would ultimately decide the outcome of this battle was Bellamy himself!

Sugar's own combat strength was only at the level of an ordinary, small-time pirate. As long as you were careful not to be touched by her hands, any gunman could kill her. With the combination of Law, Drake, and Viola, and the element of surprise, Sugar's death was almost certain.

Once Sugar was dead, there would be one less person in the Donquixote Family who could pose a threat to Bellamy. The remaining ones—Pica, the user of the Stone-Stone Fruit; Diamante, the user of the Flutter-Flutter Fruit; and Monet, the user of the Snow-Snow Fruit—could all be handled by Drake and the others.

After assigning tasks to everyone, they quickly moved out. Bellamy, however, donned a black robe and went to the inner city alone.

"It's late, but it's still so lively here."

The people of this country, this city, had not yet realized that a terrible disaster was about to befall them. They were still enjoying themselves under the bright lights. Even late at night, the flow of people on the streets had not diminished in the slightest.

Walking through the streets of the inner district, Bellamy felt a strange sense of displacement. The pedestrian streets of the big cities in his past life were just like this. Even late at night, the streets were still brightly lit and crowded with people.

Dressed in a black robe with his hood up, Bellamy stood out from the crowd. Soon, the patrolling guards noticed him.

"Hey, you over there, stop."

"Who are you? Please take off your hood."

The guards were quite polite. After all, the people living in the inner district were either rich or noble.

Bellamy reached out and waved his hand in front of them. The guards froze on the spot, as if petrified, unable to move.

"Me? You'll find out soon enough."

He chuckled, didn't bother with the unlucky guards, and continued to walk slowly towards the royal palace. Drake and the others had already begun their operation. Faint sounds of explosions could be heard from the distant outer district.

Bellamy was walking slowly here not for a leisurely stroll, but to wait for a signal. The moment Sugar died, he would storm the palace and fight Doflamingo to the death.

"Soon, soon," Bellamy forcibly suppressed his fighting spirit. This battle was crucial for him. A little patience now was necessary so that in the upcoming fight, he could devote himself wholeheartedly to the life-and-death struggle against Doflamingo. The existence of Sugar would inevitably be a distraction.

After preparing for so long, Bellamy would not allow himself to fail. The moment he set foot on Dressrosa, he was prepared to die here.

"Devil Fruit Awakening."

At this point in time, Doflamingo's fruit must have already awakened. The boost from an awakening could completely erase the numerous advantages Bellamy had accumulated. Moreover, Doflamingo also possessed Conqueror's Haki, and his physical skills, Armament, and Observation Haki, though not at the absolute peak, were by no means weak. His development of the String-String Fruit's abilities was not necessarily inferior to his own.

Against such an opponent, if he didn't go in with the resolve to die, then the one who died in the end would surely be him. Bellamy knew this better than anyone.
