Chapter 341 - Chapter 342: The Capture of Captain Marvel and Thor

In the cosmos, on Vormir.

For Carol Danvers, this place wasn't hard to find. Thanks to the Space Stone, she possessed immense power, allowing her to traverse the universe on her own, and this was precisely how she was able to travel between countless civilizations.

Thor, however, was not so fortunate. As a member of the Asgardian royal family who had awakened his divine nature in his youth, but whose divine accumulation had regressed due to his over-reliance on weapons, he now looked rather pathetic.

Carol, in the pilot's seat, glanced at his scruffy beard and sighed inwardly. She had heard of the Asgardians' reputation from the Kree Empire's database. Odin, the Lord of the Nine Realms, was a name to be feared, and his death at the hands of the "unheard-of" Lothar felt like a cruel twist of fate.

"That's Vormir ahead. I've never been here before, and since Lothar has already visited this place, it's likely to be dangerous. Remember to stay on your guard, Thor."

The planet Vormir was now in sight, and the experienced Carol warned him.

"I know." Thor nodded, his face grim. Since the battle in New York, the once-smiling Asgardian prince had not smiled brightly for a long time.

After confirming that no one was watching them on the radar, the ship slowly landed. The silent plains of Vormir welcomed two more travelers seeking a Stone.

"According to the video footage provided by Tony Stark, that mountain ahead should be where the Soul Stone is hidden. Be careful of the guy called Red Skull. He's not a nice person."

The Lothar from back then might not have known Red Skull, but that didn't mean S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't. He was a formidable man who had been a fierce opponent of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s predecessor on the battlefield.

"Ms. Danvers, I—"

"Just call me Carol." As she walked up the mountainside, Carol waved her hand, cutting Thor off.

"How much do you know about your sister, and that Lothar guy?"

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be nosy, I just—" Carol, feeling like her words might be misinterpreted, was interrupted by Thor before she could finish explaining.

"I know, I understand."

"The truth is, I know nothing about my sister or Lothar. I'd say Nick Fury probably knows more than I do, because I don't have access to your ancient Egyptian history."

Lothar and Hela had been active during the era of ancient Egypt, and the first Pharaoh had even built pyramids and statues for them both. Given this, Thor couldn't help but wonder why Hela later came into conflict with his father, Odin.

"Carol, there's one thing... If we do manage to get the Soul Stone, does that mean we can truly defeat Lothar?"

They had met no obstacles, nor had they seen the Red Skull mentioned in Tony Stark's video. Thor and Carol walked nonchalantly up the steps to the cliff.

"I don't know, but I can tell you that every Infinity Stone can grant a person incredible power. Take me, for example."

"I was once just a normal person, an ordinary pilot." Understanding Thor's feelings, Carol patted his shoulder, her eyes scanning the snowy cliffs around them. She could neither see nor feel any sign of the Infinity Stone's power.

"What?" Thor found it hard to believe after hearing Carol's revelation. This woman who could fly through space with her own body was a human from Earth?

"Did Nick Fury never tell you about me?" Carol asked, hearing the surprise in Thor's voice, as she tapped the cliff face with her index finger.

"No—who's there?!" Thor shook his head, about to ask for more details when he suddenly heard the sound of a pebble grinding under a foot. This was not normal.

A Chitauri soldier, who had been hiding behind the cliff to monitor the area, turned and fled, moving like the wind.

"A Chitauri!" Thor's face instantly darkened, and his hammer flew from his hand! In the next second, Thor's hammer was stomped on by a figure that descended from the sky.

Thud!

His cloak billowing, Lothar came into Thor's and Carol's sight without warning. Clad in golden armor, his face was grim.

"Lothar..." Thor's expression was grim.

"Quiet." His dark hair swaying, Lothar, still in his Super Saiyan 4 form, stomped and shattered the weapon that had once belonged to Hela.

"No!"

"How could he..."

Thor's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the pile of metal scraps beneath Lothar's foot.

"Who are you?" Lothar didn't pay any attention to Thor. His gaze never left Carol. His instincts told him this woman was stronger than Thor.

"Carol, Carol Danvers." Golden light instantly shone brightly, and the energy gathering in Carol's arms gave Lothar a familiar feeling. The feeling of the Space Stone.

"It's a Space Stone isotope, Your Highness Lothar." Woz's display panel provided the precise answer.

Woz had never seen a person whose body had a 100% Infinity Stone isotope content before. Yet, this woman who called herself Carol Danvers had this amazing constitution. It was very strange. Not even Thanos or Lothar or Odin had been able to perfectly merge with the power of an Infinity Stone.

"?"

"Not even my father?" Lothar casually waved his hand, neutralizing Carol's energy attack, and instantly teleported behind her.

To Carol's incomprehension, a powerful hand-chop landed directly on the back of her neck. Carol's nerves went numb instantly, her eyes closed, and she fell unconscious.

Thud!

Lothar made no attempt to catch her, allowing the golden-haired woman to collapse in front of him.

"Carol!"

In the blink of an eye, Thor had seen Carol Danvers fall. The lightning triggered by his rage was torn apart by a single finger from Lothar before it could even descend.

"The Other, take them both back."

As if he had just dealt with two insignificant troubles, Lothar's face showed no emotion. Hela would probably be interested in Thor, and as for Carol... Lothar was very interested.

Using the power of an Infinity Stone came with a heavy cost; even Lothar was not an exception. But this Carol Danvers seemed to be able to completely ignore this limitation...

"Yes, Your Highness Lothar."

The Other, who had rushed down from the ship, grabbed both unconscious bodies and dragged them back to the ship.

Live subjects had research value.
